Turned it off when I saw Michael Bradley in that crouched defensive stance anyone can get past.
Most players would be fighting to get that loose ball.. nope not him!
I think Bradley had a pretty decent Gold Cup. The problem is that in Gregggg's system that it puts a lot of pressure on the midfielders, and Mexico was just overloading them. At some point, our guys just ran out of steam and are getting outmanned.Turned it off when I saw Michael Bradley in that crouched defensive stance anyone can get past.

Honestly I think it's pretty aggressive to loan him out at this point. He hasn't been great but he's started out slow wherever he went. The question is whether they think he'll improve. What I'll say is it doesn't seem like he wanted to leave River. Every other Argentinian player loves it in Atlanta. I don't think he's ever connected even though "la Banda" has included him from the beginning. They're trying to bring him along. He just seems like he wants to be at River. That's all he posts about.
This is the beat writer for the AJC who assuredly has sources at Atlanta United. Both can be true though. They can be floating this out there to try to put pressure on him to perform or be loaned out to a shitty team.
The Atlanta vs NYRB game, I was at it. Was a great time and first time at the stadium. Obviously was a crazy game that I think both sets of fans were probably upset at the officiating, but it was probably a very exciting game to watch for anyone still on Fox after the USWNT. I don't hate you Bdubs, but I think this is a fun rivalry. More of a rivalry than Orlando.
NYCFC: Small pitch, not many fans, long ride to the stadium from the city
Oh my god I'm at the 78th minute and why are people not talking more about this game? This is one of the best games all season. It's back and forth with insane defensive performances from both teams.
That'll be awesome! I'll be in the Army Saturday as usual. But seriously, the LAFC/Timbers Open Cup game was spectacular. I don't really recommend rewatching games, but this one is absolutely worth watching. The game was just back and forth constantly. It was genuinely one of the best defensive games I've seen in mls in a very long time. Super entertaining.I was too busy losing my shit to post, but I totally agree! I traded in my Army tickets for seats in the Duracell Deck for Saturday's game. Can't wait to experience a full game up there with the sunset and the breeze.
Trying to find more info on this. Apparently Orlando fans assaulted someone with NYCFC staff last night and they're missing some teeth and were in the hospital. Doesn't remember it.
After the match, some NYCFC fans went towards the Orange Bowl where their cars were parked, a group of about 10 (NYCFC fans and staff) were escorted about three blocks from the stadium on Church Street by two Orlando City staff. 5 of us (NYCFC fans and staff) continued to walk back to our hotels together. The underpass under Church Street was closed due to construction. So we walked north one block to Pine Street. 4 Orlando supporters were running up the street as we were walking down the street. We passed by, then they came back and started to throw punches unprovoked. First they hit NYCFC staff. I just ran down the street with the NYCFC fans ahead and behind me just to escape. One fan behind me (who wasn't wearing any NYCFC apparel) was thrown the ground, attacked, and was bleeding from the face. I went up to a group of people including those with Orlando City gear and asked to walk with them as I told them, "I feel unsafe." They said absolutely. We cross the street and these guys continue to run down the street and surround me. They grab my scarf and I just give it up. It's a scarf. I don't want confrontation.
I just stand there and wait, a few extremely helpful Orlando fans wait with me, because I don't feel safe walking anywhere else unless escorted. We wait for the police and ambulance for the fan who was bleeding from the face. NYCFC staff who were attacked and the Orlando City staff rejoin us. The man bleeding from the face went in an ambulance to the hospital. The ambulance leaves, the police go. Some NYCFC fans leave on their own. I said I don't feel safe walking by myself. Orlando City staff, NYCFC staff, and these extremely helpful Orlando fans walk with me back to the hotel. I even took off my jersey as to not draw attention to myself. I'm emotional just typing this.
Fans who travel to and wear NYCFC gear are not safe in Orlando. I'm not going to Orlando for matches for the foreseeable future out of my own personal health and safety.
There's a certain irony in City fans complaining about people jumping supporters during away games.
It really is remarkable how much better they've been after coaching staff changed. Holy shit.
He didn't have much to work with down in Mexico either. The Quakes front office made an ideal hire for once.It really is remarkable how much better they've been after coaching staff changed. Holy shit.
Yeah, that was really beautiful. Pozuelo had a golazo earlier in the game too.
LOL why am I not surprised? So some guy on MLS Reddit decided the league should adopt a free substitution rule for the first 30 minutes in case of an injury... Which just happened to have happened with Atlanta today...
I'm dying, I love it. City never gonna win in our house!Looks like the center ref overruled him and said it was a throw in. It happens.
The funny thing is the NYCFC defender was screaming that it was a throw in.
Also if they took a quick corner they still would have caught them sleeping and the same exact thing could have happened.
Real talk, White has been developing fast. At this point I'm fine with super-sub BWP. Just imagining the looks on the faces of opposing back lines when he comes on in the 60th make me smile.Good to see BWP back out there - Siphon Brian White's youth and never leave again, please
The coach subbing himself in? That's great.God I love the NPSL.
AFC Ann Arbor & Rochester Lancers had a playoff match tonight to see who will face Cleveland SC on Friday. AA set the kickoff for 6:30 and kept it there despite inclement weather rolling in...and their stadium not having LIGHTS. After an early lightning delay, they managed to get through 69 minutes including Rochester's coach subbing himself into the match and still had to call it when it wasn't possible to keep playing.
And they have no idea when they'll play the rest of the match. Amazingggggg
fuck ann arbor
and oh*o
It gets even better ever since.
Meram has started out really well and I think he would have played well tonight if they started him. His role is one that they have several options so with so much schedule compression, I think they just wanted to give him a night off. Got DC on Sunday.I had Gressel on my fantasy team for a number of weeks in a row and nothing.. value kept dropping. Swapped him out for Meram this week.. Meram doesn't start and Gressel gets over 20 points tonight. :*(
