An early Build of Rayman 4 has leaked

An incomplete(?) build of the game that eventually morphed from a mainline 3D Rayman to the minigame collection Rayman: Raving Rabbids was recently leaked on 4chan.

I imagine that linking to 4chan directly is a big no-no, so have some media that is trickling out from the build instead.

Ah what could have been... I miss actual Rayman games, only reason I dont completely despise the Rabbids is thanks to both Mario/Rabbids games (really never saw that crossover coming).

Glad this at least leaked, should lead to some interesting footage to check out at least.

Was it ever noted anywhere prior to launch that the game changed to a minigame compilation? I remember pre-ordering and also being confused when I actually played the game wondering if I bought a different Rayman game by mistake. I still enjoyed it for what it was but still...

God, I was so hyped for this back then. Used to play Rayman 2 and 3 so much when I was a kid / teenager. I still really enjoyed Raving Rabbids (played it on PC), but it was obviously not the same thing.

C'mon Ubisoft, please give us another 3D Rayman

I was so excited for this. Them changing it to a mini game collection was such a huge disappointment.

The newer 2D games never compared to 2 and 3 to me. I wish they'd at least give the current ones remakes like Crash and Spyro got. Then eventually an actual 4.

I seem to recall hearing that Rayman Raving Rabbids became what it did because they couldn't figure out how to build a game around the Wii motion controls so instead made mini games. Probably my first childhood gaming disappointment lol.

While I preferred how Rayman 2 handled things like collectibles, Rayman 3 was competent on its own. Wish we got a Rayman 4 game.

This is new information to me and is legit disappointing me like 16 years later. Waggle claims another victim.

The way the kid uses the wii remote is completely nonsensical so I assume this trailer was not done with dev team involement.

I remember as a kid being so confused when raving rabbids came out, because I think Nintendo power had a preview for this version

I always associate rayman with Nintendo consoles and the GameCube was a unique exception of being fairly terrible for its library of platforming titles. Rayman 3 is arguably probably the best on the system (which is pretty crazy given nintendos reputation in the genre). Donkey Kong jungle beat would be the only game I could argue otherwise for.

Vexx, Wario world, scaler, I-ninja, Billy Hatcher, sonic adventures, etc etc are all pretty mediocre.

Obviously ps2 outshined overall, but I still find it noteworthy of the rayman franchise.

This game got cancelled because during development they got the Wii dev kits, and decided that a minigame collection would be better suited for the console. A VERY WILD reason to scrap the OG Rayman 4 that was nearly complete

I am more surprised on lack of Rayman 2 HD, they game was ported to hell and back for Nintendo handhelds but not a single HD console port. (As for Rayman 1, Redemption clearly surpasses the original game

Ubisoft basically gave up on Rayman when the franchise was in its prime and I will never stop holding it against them.

Wow, I didn't even know there was a Rayman 4 trailer. I'm out of the loop.

A shame what happened to the series though, a victim of a crowded market of 3D platformers in the late 90s/early 00s.

Well, technically not completely abandon, they did a few really fun iPhone mobile releases. Nowhere near as good as Origins/Legends, but I enjoyed them very much.

But yeah, they straight up abandoned the console/pc audience and it sucks so much :(
