I would say "Don't read garbage publications", but given how many publications are moving closer and closer to that garbage status, I know it's not easy. I mean you have the Washington Post, Forbes and The New York Times there and I could say the same of all Spanish newspapers.

Sigh :(

Ummmm are you unhappy with people using the phrase "and that's a good thing"? If I type any random phrase or words into Google I'm going to get the same results. A bunch of unlinked articles using the phrase/words I've looked up.

This phrase together with "and here's why" have become omnipresent in clickbait titles.

Obviously the problem is that they don't organize it in numerical list format, or, ahem, a listicle.

The proper title should be something like "seven reasons why _____ is a good thing". I went to college for this insight so you can trust me.

All those stupid title formulas are so annoying to me, especially when random forum posters end up using them too for their threads like they're one of those blogging "journalists" thinkers and as if using those blueprints somehow validate their shitty opinion.

"ResetERA's new thread rules are getting more relaxed...and thats a good thing!"

Yeah, these types of articles don't jive with me. Because usually they are just opinion pieces and I side with the opposite of what the writer is trying to defend.

"Donald Trump is out of control and no one knows what he will do or say next...and thats a good thing."

LTTP: Game

10 minutes into this game and its pretty great so far. What should I know going into this because I don't want to learn Game on my own or have any surprises that might remotely challenge me. I work 80 hours a week, have 5 kids across 2 wives, and just don't have time for videogames anymore.

This thread is worth existing just for this post. It truly is the template.

I wonder how many of these knee jerk LTTP posters actually finish the game they are starting?

I mean it's basically offering a defense of something usually attacked/neglected.

I don't think it's such a big deal...

That Eurogamer article about PSVR alerted me of the danger of using this headline, and I'm firmly against it now. Specially when you do the negative part on the main header, and the "That's a good thing" on the secondary header, which doesn't get picked up by most RSS feeds, and makes the article just seem negative about said thing.

"(And That's A Good Thing)", "And Here's Why", "We Need to Talk about..." etc. are like red flags for me to totally ignore an entire article

I honestly feel like Facebook needs to develop some kind of clickbait-beater algorithm that steps in and tells you a story's premise before you click on it. So your news feed would look something like this:

"She lost all her money and was diagnosed with cancer.....then something wonderful happened!"
CLICKBAIT BEATER: She started a refuge for lost baby tigers

"Bees are stinging you in your sleep, and that is a good thing!"
CLICKBAIT BEATER: Bee stings actually reduce the risk of heart disease
