To be fair, he provoked them with his very existence. He's assaulted numerous women so i can see why he would end up in this situation.

So people here are okay with violence towards someone they don't like? Just to be clear.
I think Andy Dick even preferred getting punched and hospitalized instead of spending years in prison for his crimes.
This thread is a fucking mess.

And lol at some of you parading around on your high horses chastising everyone else for a lack of sympathy towards a known piece of shit. This fucking place sometimes my goodness. Y'all are so holy you must walk on water.
Lmao!

There is "not liking someone" and there is Andy Dick giving drugs to a recovering addict resulting in said addict killing her husband on a bad trip and then Dick joking about it to other comedians.

Unless I was reading wrong he gave the drugs to her months before the murder happened and apparently she was on Zoloft and Alcohol when it happened and not cocaine.

I don't wish violence on anyone but this dude did seriously have it coming. Hope he does recover ok and doesn't start doubling down on his stupid "jokes"

Andy Dick used to come over to my ex-roommates house in LA while no one was home. He was drugged out of his mind. This was a few years back too. During his supposed "cleaned up" era. Nothing like going to someone's house at 3 am and catching Andy Dick jerking off on their couch

I don't remember if the details are as you said, but that doesn't change the fact that Dick enabled the drug taking and he later mocked Hartman's death fully knowing he played a part of it, which was why Lovitz punched him back then.

Apparently Andy Dick is on drugs again, and is hanging around a bunch of shady people including that Paris Dylan dude mentioned in the article.
If you Google their names it looks like they are constantly together.

Although I would categorize Andy Dick himself as a shady motherfucker. He doesn't need help from anyone else in that category. It's likely he's the one driving that duo.

Post #78 in this thread provides many links. That's what I am referencing.

Mandela Effect is at it again because...I could've sworn the phrase was "cold clock". You know, like...haven't you heard people say "I'm gonna clock you in the face!"? I've never once heard someone say "I'm gonna cock you in the face!". I've heard of "cocking back" as in winding up or preparing something. But yeah, it's "cold clock", right? You clocked someone out cold, cleaned their clock, etc, etc.

You're combining different but similar phrases. Cold cocked and cleaned their clock are different things. They just sound the same so people mix them up.
It has always been cold cocked.

It's either "clocked" or "cold cocked" as slang for slugging someone. Not "cold clocked".

I've personally experienced Andy behaving in a way that I thought was going to lead to a fight more than once - he constantly provokes verbal arguments (or at least he used to) - which is why I think his agent is so firmly caveating that "not this time." He'd start arguments or say outlandish things dozens of times a night at parties and events to the point that he almost came with a warning label. I got the feeling he literally couldn't help himself and I watched him "flirt" with men and women. And by flirt I mean say disgraceful things in a half-joking manner and sort of always in-character. And his reputation for much worse behavior is evident. But regardless - if a skinny old white guy is insulting you, or bothering you or simply minding his own business - the three options you have available are to ignore him, retaliate verbally or mind your own business.

The number of people who die, are paralyzed or who suffer traumatic brain injuries annually from either being punched once, or punched and then hitting their head on the ground, is astonishing and it's incredibly dangerous. This is just one of a thousand reasons why regardless of provocation, taking the high ground is always the right thing to do and instigating violence when there's no direct or imminent threat to you or your companions, is why it's called "sucker" punching. The idea is that the victim is a sucker, but so are you if your first instinct is to cold-cock a helpless unsuspecting person.

I get that people can be riled up, irrational, angry, insulted or incensed, and I have a short fuse myself, but it's always better to take a deep breath and walk away, regardless of provocation - if there's no physical threat to your wellbeing or safety. And frankly even then discretion is the better part of valor. You don't want to be on either end of a serious injury or worse.

Having not been aware of Andy Dick in ~20 years, I had no idea so many people wanted him dead.

ALso had no idea Jon Lovitz hated him. If I had to choose between Lovitz and Dick I'd take Lovitz for The Critic alone.

Awesome, Stinkles with the first person accounts

Well your a better person than I am, much respect because I am the type that would get physical, though in his case he wouldn't rate a closed fist.

Midgar, With Love
I was rewatching Star Trek: Voyager last night and the episode with him guest-starring was up next.

I forgot how insufferable he is even when he's behind the camera.

How does the "cock" in "cold cocked" pertain to punching someone? It doesn't even make any sense.

Cocked means turned in one context. Someone lying on the ground is turned compared to someone standing up.

Also, Andy Dick can never die. He is an unholy force that is forced to walk this Earth being an obnoxious prat coked up out of his mind.

Dick did it with malice and forethought.

Andy Dick gave drugs to Phil Hartmans wife with the intention of ... getting her to commit a murder suicide? That's a pretty ... strong statement. Not completely doubting it because I don't know anything about Andy Dick, but is there a back story on this from a decent website (e.g., not like PageSix or some other rag)?

When you know your friend's spouse is batshit crazy on coke and trying to get clean, and then proceed to give said spouse coke, there's malice involved.

A cold cock used to be the slang for a thing you'd use to bludgeon someone... like a bottle or something. It got made into a verb when you hit someone with a cold cock... But then the term for the weapon sorta dropped down, and cold cocking ws just known as hitting someone. Also the term "to clock" someone has existed meaning largely the same thing. The two got combined.

But... technically...

To Clock someone and to Cold Cock someone are basically the same thing. But to Cold Clock someone is combining those two mistakenly. Who knows, in 20 years, the phrase will probably become cold clocking.
