Welcome to the Fall (also known as Autumn) 2019 Anime OT! The end of the year is nearing ever closer, so lets end it big with a new season of anime full of pleasant surprises andâŠ..production train wrecks. Will we find out how a man with a gun for a face eats in Gun No Life? Will Genzo be able to nuzzle all the furry creatures he wants during his isekai adventure in Kemono Michi: Rise Up? Finally, will Geno Studio's show, Pet, air this season even though they keep on claiming it will despite not showing any footage? Find out these questions and more as this season unfolds!
The following are some of the potential highlights for this Fall season of anime. Like always, some of these will turn into duds and unforeseen gems in this season could have been overlooked.
Included in this season of the highlights is the Ecchi/Gore warnings which range from None through High. These are the somewhat expected levels of these two potentially off-putting aspects of an anime in each of the highlighted shows. These are iffy ranges, that could be completely thrown off both by changes from the source material and director choices. This iffyness is even more present in original anime or stuff that is being adapted based off properties that have no translations in the west (thus no research/idea of what to really expect in these two areas). So, don't take them as the gospel but rather as an expected range of what you may find in each of these shows.

From mangaka Paru Itagaki (Daughter of Baki's mangaka) comes Beastars, winner of the 11th manga Taisho awards being adapted by Studio Orange who brought us Resetera's 2017 AOTY winner Land of the Lustrous.
"In a world populated by anthropomorphic animals, herbivores and carnivores coexist with each other. For the adolescences of Cherryton Academy, school life is filled with hope, romance, distrust, and uneasiness. The main character is Legoshi the wolf, a member of the drama club. Despite his menacing appearance, he has a very gentle heart. Throughout most of his life, he has always been an object of fear and hatred by other animals, and he's been quite accustomed to that lifestyle. But soon, he finds himself becoming more involved with his fellow classmates who have their own share of insecurities and finds his life in school changing slowly."
"The teen adolescence story revolves around the coming-of-age of boys in a junior high school's soft tennis club, which is on the verge of shutting down. Touma Shinjou asks Maki Katsuragi to join the team for his vaunted abilities, and mentions a summer competition. Katsuragi asks for money in return for joining the team."
Another fate series you know the drill.
"An adaptation of the Seventh Holy Grail War, The Absolute Frontline in the War Against the Demonic Beasts Babylonia Singularity of Fate/Grand Order."
After 6 years of waiting, we will be getting the continuation of the much beloved adaption of Chiahyayfuru!
"Chihaya Ayase, a strong-willed and tomboyish girl, grows up under the shadow of her older sister. With no dreams of her own, she is contented with her share in life till she meets Arata Wataya. The quiet transfer student in her elementary class introduces her to competitive karuta, a physically and mentally demanding card game inspired by the classic Japanese anthology of Hundred Poets. Captivated by Arata's passion for the game and inspired by the possibility of becoming the best in Japan, Chihaya quickly falls in love with the world of karuta. Along with the prodigy Arata and her haughty but hard-working friend Taichi Mashima, she joins the local Shiranami Society. The trio spends their idyllic childhood days playing together, until circumstances split them up.
Now in high school, Chihaya has grown into a karuta freak. She aims to establish the Municipal Mizusawa High Competitive Karuta Club, setting her sights on the national championship at Omi Jingu. Reunited with the now indifferent Taichi, Chihaya's dream of establishing a karuta team is only one step away from becoming true: she must bring together members with a passion for the game that matches her own."

Outraged that he was asked to kill monsters, Genzo German suplexes the princess. Unable to get back to Earth, he decides to live a peaceful life and manage a "monster" pet shop."

The sequel to the unsuspecting anime gem from last year is near and will likely finish up the source material. Get your fighting sticks ready for High Score Girl II when it is released from the it's Netflix Jail!
"Haruo "Beastly Fingers" Yaguchi rules the arcade gaming scene, but beneath his famous identity as a pro gamer is a plain sixth grader with an uneventful life. Neither popular, smart, nor athletic, he excels in only one thing: video games. Haruo would rather spend hours at the local arcade honing his gaming skills than take his life and academics seriously.
One day, Haruo meets his match in fellow classmate Akira Oono. Akira is not the type of person to frequent an arcade: she has perfect grades, is well-loved, and comes from a wealthy background. Even so, not only is she able to score a 29-game win streak, but she also manages to beat Haruo seven times in a row. Eager to end her domination, Haruo duels Akira in Street Fighter 2 and resorts to underhanded tacticsâwhich earns him a slap in the face from the shy girl. This encounter starts a strange and rocky relationship between the two rival gamers."
It's about a guy with a gun for a faceâŠ.what more did it need to do for it to end up in the highlights?
"Ex-soldier Juuzou Inui has one questionâwho turned him into a cyborg and erased his memories?
After the war, cyborg soldiers known as the Extended were discharged. Juzo Inui is one of them, a man whose body was transformed, his head replaced with a giant gun! With no memory of his previous lifeâor who replaced his head and whyâInui now scratches out a living in the dark streets of the city as a Resolver, taking on cases involving the Extended.
When a fellow Extended showed up in Inui's officeâon the run from the Security Bureau with a kidnapped child in tow and asking for helpâInui should have just thrown the guy out. But Inui's loyalty to a brother Extended makes him take the job. Keeping the child safe won't be easy, since everyone seems to want to grab him, from street punks to the megacorporation BerĂŒhren, who have sent out a special agent that knows exactly how to deal with the Extended..."

Trailer
The beloved manga, Blade of the Immortal, is getting a new adaption that will attempt to cover all the source material. How well the staff can cut and weave the missing ends together to fit the whole story in, will either make or break this classic work.
"Manji is an immortal swordsman, who has been cursed with eternal life. He has grown tired of living with all the death he has created. He has no skills other than those of killing, thus he forms a plan to regain his mortality: he shall kill one hundred evil men for each good one he has killed. The old witch who afflicted Manji with immortality agrees to Manji's proposition and Manji is set on his path to kill one thousand evil men. On his journey he meets a young girl, Rin, who has her own vengeance to seek against the sword school whose members slaughtered Rin's family. Rin and Manji journey together, each hoping to find some kind of peace. In their way are many varied enemies. Rin and Manji are almost constantly under attack and must learn to live their lives, avoiding being consumed by revenge."
Why is this in the highlightsâŠ. because sometimes you want to put something weird in that may or may not end up successful. Also fits the furry theme going on this season.
"The comedy follows a lion, toucan, and lizard as they live the lives of office workers in a capitalist society in Japan, while also dealing with their unique situations as animals living beyond the savanna and the food chain."
You remember Hayate no Gotoku!? This is pretty much the same idea give or take a few things.
"Suzuki Iruma has been sold to the demon by his irresponsible parents in exchange for money. Surprisingly, next thing he knows, he is living with the demon and has been transferred into a school in the Demon World..."
Because I'm legally obligated to include in every season highlights at least one Isekai and one Ecchi show. What more can you ask for in a show? It has ecchi, idols, Americans who dress up as ninja, an ojou-sama, jet skis andâŠ. did I mention everyone is shooting at each other while riding said jet skis?
Below hidden in the spoiler (For the sake or room and people on mobile who don't want to load so many images) is the Who Has it Tables + Key. These tables list all the shows this season and will show which streaming service of the main eight services will be streaming it. Please note, these tables don't consider weird deals like Fate being a month delayed on Crunchy; nor does it mean that said service has the show in your region. These Charts will be updated as each streaming service announces more of their lineup.
