Not entirely sure how to feel about S4 of Food Wars. Great for people who enjoy the series, but the series fell flat on it's head for me after Season 3.

Probably going to still watch it, just going in with low expectations.

Aww thought Kumo-chan's anime was this season. After looking it up, it doesn't even have a date announced. Am sad.

As for this coming season... more Takagi-san is welcome. Might pick up other stuff depending on reception. Haven't caught up with my watch list yet.

I'm going to disagree with mike but I'll need you to watch this 48 minute video that clearly explains my reasoning faster than I ever could

still a dumb rule btw
nothing stops people from posting threads about anime youtuber videos, dont really see what there is to complain about especially considering a video getting its own thread is like, A) giving whoever posts the thread way more posts than it would otherwise get buried in a thread where 80% of folks would just laugh it off, ignore it, or just express dissapointment over the video, and B) bringing it front and center instead of burying in a thread with low traffic.

Fairy Gone Episode 8 EngDub

This homeland terrorist plot was actually pretty good and best of the show. I still think the magic robots being controlled by flutes is still the silliest thing (and they look ugly), but for something like this it was compelling.

Still think the main cast not picking up on say the ministers lack of movement as the prime ministry was just about assassination is strange.

Mix Episode 10 EngDub

Touma is the best part of the anime and everytime he's the focus and no one else it's amazing. Loved how handles the relationship stuff more than Sou does.

So, what's the hottest isekai around nowadays?

I've watched Slime, I think it's very good, but it'S just a straight power fantasy. Which is fine, but gets boring after awhile.

Have also been watching Zombie land saga, I think the first two episodes was absurdly hilarious, but episode 3 started going more into idol stuffs, like training, we can't do it, we can do it, friendship, etc. At least there is still some funny scenes here and there. Also, I was hoping they have stuck with Death Musume.

Shingeki s3 Episode 56

I guess there goes the post apocalypse theory and this titan thing being something worldwide of sorts.

Really loved how suspenseful everything was in the basement.

Yellow guy's freakout(s) was both extremely annoying and wonderfully animated. And sort of humorous. But it was a bit too much this episode. And I certainly hope this won't be a recurring thing, because it will sour the experience.

Space anime looks like it could be interesting.

I mean the end of the central arc is pretty good. Everything after that is stupid on a level you have yet to even comprehend though

In general, going by reddit for overall popularity, Konosuba is still hugely popular (not just as an isekai, but in general). And it's one of the rare cases of reddit actually having good taste, because the show's amazing.

There's also Shield Hero, but that's not something I'd ever recommend to anyone.

There's also a new SAO season, which has some good parts but also some absolutely thrash ones. And the Gun Gale Online SAO spinoff that has nothing to do with Kirito which some people liked, I guess.

If you want a super obscure suggestion, King's Avatar was really great IMO. Although it's not even an isekai, because it's just a bunch of dudes playing an actual computer MMO, but that does make it somewhat similar to something like Log Horizon or SAO. Also it's not even actually an anime depending on who you ask.

For upcoming stuff, I feel like "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!" (also known as Bakarina) is by far the most notable one, simply because it's going to be the first anime adaptation (that I'm aware of) of the "reincarnated as a villainess in an otome game" isekai subgenre that seems to be everywhere in manga and LNs these days. But I have no idea when that's coming out. Probably not anytime soon given how there's pretty much no info on it out there.

Kimetsu no Yaiba 11

I feel like every scene with the new guy went on for a little too long. Him acting that way fine but keep it from getting too annoying. Also the episode seemed short as hell because of those scenes so when it was over I thought only half the episode was over but they probably wanted to end it here so the next episode starts with what I assume is the Boar guy fighting

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind Vento Aureo 34
As fun of a diversion this whole affair has been to draw the finale into a more oddball scenario than was initially set up, I get the feeling that this marks the kind of material that make people have some amount of people give Golden Wind the cold shoulder. After both Stardust Crusaders and Diamond is Unbreakable, Araki seems to have made too great an effort to consciously try and top his own endings to the previous arcs while also trying to subvert the audiences expectations of how all of this plays out. The end result creates some genuinely cool ideas (the most prominent of these is enhanced in the adaptation thanks to the excellent work by the voice actors), but it also ends up showcasing a number of head-scratching decisions that feel like they were first draft material that was put in without a lot of thought backing them up. It leads to a kind of frustrating experience, because you can see the quality that's there, but it's mixed in with enough questionable content that it drags down the experience. Maybe things will improve once Requiem is dealt with, but I worry that this might be the signs to come of this finale being hampered by its own attempts to outdo its predecessors.

GeGeGe no Kitaro 60
Yikes, this is by far the worst episode of the show in a long time! For a series that has mostly avoided what felt like pointless filler, this is by far the worst case example I can think of Kitaro "phoning it in" in months. No social commentary, a hackneyed life lesson about bravery delivered in a painfully trite fashion, and some of the worst art and direction in the entire series. There's really nothing more to say other than if you haven't watched it, just skip it. You'll miss nothing of value by doing so.

Why the Hell are You Here, Sensei? 11
I don't really know why I'm still watching this series anymore. It's dumb fun, I suppose, and it does all the things I expect out of it. I think I'm just not engaged in this last couple's dynamic, and as such I'm just detached from engaging with it like I have in previous episodes. Oh well, there's only one left; might as well finish it off.

This. Prior to Isekai Quartet being announced, I only watched Konosuba S1. I've since watched all four shows and am caught up with IQ (well I'm an episode behind because I don't have Crunchyroll Premium).

No regrets. Three of the shows are my top three modern Isekai. I still enjoyed Overlord a lot as well.

I even saw the Tanya movie in theaters which was great.

Somewhere.
Alright, just about caught up with what I ended up checking out from this season, as some preparation for Anime Expo next month. I enjoy Stray Dogs as usual, and I am just catching up on Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Was kind of eh at first, but after 3 episodes, I started to enjoy it when Tanjirou went through the training, and it has been fine since.

Not much that interests me for the summer season, except for maybe Fire Force, but I am being low key on new anime anyway for now. I believe there is least more Demon Slayer to enjoy through.

Edit: I just realize that Fire Force is the series that the Soul Eater creator is currently working on, so I definitely keeping it in mind ha ha.

I guess I'm putting Youjo Senki and Overlord on my watch list!!

But it seems like Overlord isn't on Crunchy Roll... Netflix?
That Knight's Avatar sounds interesting too.

Zombie Land Saga 05
The part where they rinse off the mud killed me. Best episode so far.
