Hulaing Babies ~6-12 END
IYn3m6R.jpg
qXoj3vW.jpg

The general zanyness and unusual artstyle provide a core of worth, somewhat blemished but not entirely expunged by the sometimes very visible production constraints and frankly, inability to tell it's story effectively within allotted timeframe. The latter sometimes by very baffling choices of what to focus on and what to omit.

And not that there aren't misfires there too but those ED jokes are still funnier then half or more of comedy anime.

Currently watching Ultraman on netflix.

I probably won't make many friends saying this, but I don't think I've hated a MC so much since I watched Evangelion ~20 years ago.

Would it make sense to make a statement, bold or otherwise, on something other than my taste?
Maybe. I just dont get it.. all of the talent in Hyouka and K-ON basically there on Sound Eupho and level of effort is the same. Its kinda angered me if someone say Kyoani hasnt made something as big since Hyouka as wide blanket statement.

But anyway my rude answer was bad but I dont know how to word it better.

Digimon Adventure Tri 18-22

This kind of feels all over the place now. Nothing gets time to breathe and things almost happen in a non sequitur fashion. Like "everyone is fighting and now they are back in the digital world, and now another big digimon appeared, now they are going to kill the plot digimon and now Taichi is dead, and Hikari has evil stuff all over her, and now some big titty digimon is attacking the world and the world is ending" in the span of like 1 episode.

digimon tri actively soured me on following anything new digimon with the possible exception of seeing if the english dubbing is as goofy as the OG s1 and s2 digimon dubbing

I really should get around to watching s3 though at some point

Remember that a sequel to Tri is also coming, just in case you don't think you've punished yourself enough.

Honestly the majority of the humour in Nichijou being visual means that a dub might actually work pretty well. A lot of comedy animes get lost in translation (a notable exception being Panty and Stocking, which IMPROVED)

generally speaking stuff made with an american/western stylistic aesthetic in mind seems to work better... and by that I mean, like, in terms of the actual aesthetic of production (so not just set dressing like that english-speaking cute girls anime or whatever that was)

...that's a pretty generalised thing and I'm sure I'm wrong since i put about half a second's thought into that, so... maybe that cpomment wasn't worth making. lol. too late though

I don't really remember enough to tell you how it fluctuates but suffice to say say it's overall really bad show. And i think the more or less general opinion of it is broadly similar.

Digimon Adventure Tri 23-26 (END)

This was bad!

Honestly the best part of the show was the first half where it was kind of about DigiDestined growing up and them dealing more with "their destiny.", especially the bit with Joe and what they kind of started doing with Taichi. I think this could have been good if this was more of the focus throughout the show instead of the complete mess it becomes in the second half where it just kind of becomes a mish mash of plot points where nothing really feels connected or cohesive. You go the evil dude who was sexually harrasing people for a bit, and I guess he's working with this god like entity or is part of it, and then you got the one lady who was working with them as well or something who I guess dies at a point, then you got another godly entity that was going to reset the human world after resetting the digital one, and then the main digimon introduced had like everyone's data in it, and you got then you kind of got the issues that main characters are going through but absolutely nothing is developed enough. It threw everything together and none of it lands The animation was just kind of middling and there isn't anything close to resembling a well directed fight. I don't doubt the original series wasn't well animated either considering the era and my memory of it, but jeez, at least get one good scene in here. I watched a 140+ sports anime with more interesting direction and animation than this. Also my god, I do like the main theme but fuck does it lose the impact when using it "big moments" when it uses it so frequently.

Don't really have faith on whatever that next sequel series/movie(?) is going to be. At least that Digimon Survive game looks kind of cool.

If you are interested in checking more of that Mr. Asao & Mr. Ōminato's worthiness, there is the You Can Enjoy! series of promotional animated shorts (which have been made since before the Fukushima GAiNAX transfer) about Fukushima Prefecture agricultural and marine products:

Re:Zero END
Fun show when it wasn't bogged down by a stupid unnecessary love triangle. The episodes from the White Whale fight onwards had excellent momentum and a lot of little details paid off.

I've not seen Kimikor, but Anthem is pretty great.

Anthem of Heart

worth the watch?

Anthem has some of the worst Okadrama in it and by no means limited to just the ending stages, + some weirdo, laughable metaphoric imagery if I recall correctly, I don't think the not so cliched ending and Okada's natural strengths are enough to elevate if from those depths to something truly desirable.

Some sort of gay idols show? #1

I watched two movies about this and I still don't understand what this show is about, it's like Yuri on Ice mixed with Binan mixed with gay porn mixed with cocaine.

But I'm still going to watch it bucause I'm trash.

So even being a beef cow doesn't save you from being turned into anime girl and a life of studying. Scary.

Neat find, thanks.
