Another Isekai LN adaptation, another series that originally began as web novel in Shousetsuka ni Narou until it was acquired by a publisher (Media Factory, from Kadokawa).
This one from what I heard is pretty good tho I still need to read it. From what I heard, the entire series is about the protagonist being reborn and you see the entire life of him from being a child, to teenager, to young adult and then adult. It also has a pretty good development as he begins as a bad person and gradually goes to be a good one. Something like that.
I've read the first volume, it was fine.
Don't expect the protagonist to be an actual decent person or anything.
Mushoku is pretty much the grandfather of modern Isekai, and is still years later considered to be the best one, if not one of the best. Its also the most popular one in Japan and has been for its entire history. I can't even imagine what kind of nightmare its going to be adapting this though. You'd need at least en entire year worth of episodes to tell the story.
The web novel literally starts with the main character who's like 40 saying he missed his parents' funeral because he was busy masturbating to uncensored loli hentai so...If they don't make it like 24 episodes, that will be very bad as from what I know, the development of the character and many things only gets on later on. The beginning mostly shows his bad parts.
There's also the thing tht Mushoku is basically one of the first Isekai titles and that basically influenced all of the others that came after it in 2012 still in the boom of Isekai in Narou so in some ways, it'll be viewed as quite generic as some tropes were in other titles
Make sure you watch the dub, ushios voice is HYPEMy Love Story!! Episode 17
Wasn't expecting an episode to focus more on the side characters than Takeo and Yamato but I liked it regardless. Nice to see other characters getting into relationships outside of the main one. And as much as I like them Takeo and Yamato suck at being matchmakers, Suna is a lot better in that regard. And I find it pretty funny that Kurihara and Nanako were dating for not even a day and already kissed before Yamato and Takeo.
I forgot this got an anime adaption, fan of the manga so I'll give it watch one of these days.

I believe "vaguely able to be empathised with" takes much more priority over the likeable part. The World Ends With You is commonly cited for its great character development, when it initially stars an angsty misanthrope who wears oversized headphones to block out the world.'character development' narratives are always interesting to me because to really succeed a character still needs at their core to be likable, or at least vaguely able to be empathised with, even before they grow up to become a not garbage piece of shit. It's always fascinating to me to see which characters manage it and which don't.

i read two or three volumes of mushoku years ago, put it down because it was incredibly boring. the mc was the kind of bland that i don't like
a lot like the slime mc
i don't remember any of that stuff being in the ln though

Some of the new Claw members look interesting though, the Blind guy and the Umbrella guy at least. Of course there's the boss himself. I'm not too concerned about them from a 'power level' point of view nor an ideological point of view, which will provide some amusement but it's a side dish compared to the main course i.e. how Mob or his team brings about a change to them, the show is clearly not looking for lives to be lost if episode 9 was any indicator or physical/psychological battles to be won.Mob Psycho 100 II 10
While I definitely enjoyed the highlights of animation sprinkled throughout this episode, I can't help but feel that this is Mob on autopilot. Claw worked well in the first season because they initially seemed like a terrifying threat, but when the reality of what the were hits, they become the victims of comedic slapstick. That reversal was quite fun, but it's a gag you can only really do once. Seeing as we're revisiting Claw now but with how much has changed for Mob and friends, Claw needs to adapt into a more demanding force or we'd just end up with a more embarrassing sequence than at the end of season one. But the moment you try to make us take Claw seriously again, the series stops being a comedy with shounen battle elements and just turns into a shounen battle series. And without Mob's hilariously deadpan reaction to the situations around him, it's left to the supporting cast, most of whom I barely remember, to carry things here and most of them just don't cut it. They may be worried because they aren't as powerful as Mob, but because I as the viewer am not particularly concerned for a large number of them (and the show doesn't make a point of knocking off cast members regularly) this amounts to little more than gorgeous filler. I do hope there's some decent payoff the way there was at the end of the Claw arc in season one, but as flashy as this stuff is right now, it's rather dull to see it play out so straight-faced.

Some stuff was changed from the web novel to the light novel as mentioned, so yeah. But even then, some of the stuff I mentioned still happens in the manga (which is based off the LN).
It'll mostly be just a "wait and see" with what's adapted and what not.
Still looking forward to it. I used to be a big fan a few years back. Not even sure how this will be adapted. I can't see anything other than 24 episodes and even then, that's not enough time to get to the point where he actually really starts to grow as a character.
didn't know about the changes, guess the english LN edited it all out. But yeah I doubt they'll get rid of all the pervy stuff of him growing up, it was a recurring thing all through the first few books IIRC and it eventually becomes a harem novel like 10 books in or something.I wonder if they'll adapt the part where he...constantly checks out his mom, step-mom, steals Roxy's used panties and makes a shrine of worship to them, and later adds the cutout part of a sheet with the Virgin bloodstain of the elf girl to his worship shrine.
Also, I remember reading this year's ago and wasn't it that his life fell apart after his parents died and he missed the funeral due to depression(big reason why I could empathize with him since I get bouts of depression), but he was actually jacking it to underage loli porn?

Instead of being edited out in the English version it's much more likely there's differences between the WN and LN versions, which happens all the time.didn't know about the changes, guess the english LN edited it all out. Yeah I read the tropes spoilers page. There are things I like, but there's a lot of stuff that's...eyebrow raising to say the least. The Funeral thing for one. I either read it wrong or they changed it. I can kind of be cool with some of the squicky stuff since it's obviously being played as a negative, but there were still a few things that were less than savory that I'm not sure how the narrative is trying to play them.
yeah that was bad wording on my part, you're right it def was changed in the LNInstead of being edited out in the English version it's much more likely there's differences between the WN and LN versions, which happens all the time.
Wow, the memes were right.
You know why😉Wow, the memes were right.
They do just straight up kick Fugo out of the series.

Also, apparently the identity of "Rena" from Futaro's past was revealed in the most recent manga chapter.

It's Itsuki. First girl always wins.
Wow, they're finally adapting this. Kinda looking forward to it.
Be warned though, the main character starts off as a real piece of shit. Like, an actual piece of shit.
The main character's an actual pedophile. In the web novel, we're first introduced to him jacking it to uncensored loli porn(changed to uncensored adult porn in the LN). He also states at one point he was taking voyeur shots of his 10 year old nieces when they would stay over, though that also got cut from even the web novel eventually. After he's reincarnated, we see him hit on a 40 year old loli character, get overjoyed at getting a 8 year old girlfriend, say that his 12 year old cousin is within his "strike range" and so forth. I'm interested in seeing the reaction on here if they keep some of this stuff in. They kinda can't avoid some of it considering it's a harem.
The thing is that it's one of the more interesting isekais I've seen/read despite the main character being a piece of shit. They acknowledge he's a piece of shit (somewhat) who gets character development over time, and the world building is actually pretty fantastic. It's one of the most thought out isekai worlds I've seen. That and like Nemesis said, you see him grow up from being a baby/toddler (who keeps his memories of the previous world) to being a full adult over the course of the whole series. It's an interesting premise, though him being a kid with the mind of a 40 year old lends itself to the problems I stated with the MC in the spoiler.

The characters I like in romcoms never win so I'm eternally salty when I read them.I only follow the threads in r/manga but the people are salty as fuck.
I only read the Nino confession and she deserves to win
