MHA S4E13
The last 4 minutes of that episode were great. Strong animation and I really liked how the camera and music portrayed Deku as this terrifyingly strong final boss from Overhauls perspective. Overall I am happy with this arc but its definitely one of MHA's weakest, enjoyed it anyway though. Still gutted for Mirio after last weeks episode though.
I don't read the manga but I know he doesn't get his powers back and i'm really disappointed by that. I understand the need for consequences/avoidance of senzu bean bullshit but he is such a great character when he's on-screen its depressing to think he can't be a hero anymore.

There are a lot of caveats with this one- I feel it would be more at home on pornhub than on Funimation, prostitution is a hotly debated topic on both sides by feminists, and this appears to be one of those worlds where your only option as a cishet women who wants to sexually be active is to be a prostitute (and clearly, what is a gay man in this world).... but I kind of liked it? Women have agency in this world to do things other than be prostitutes, we have women of all ages and body types (the only human prostitute we have seen is an elderly woman), they are fairly compensated for their work and do it willingly, etc. Sure, our MCs are a bunch of perverted, sexual harraser assholes, but at no point does the show ever even try to tell us they are good people. And, i'm sorry, I am going to laugh every time I see a Famitsu-style review hanging in the bar.

Not committing to the whole series, but I will be watching episode 2, something I never thought would be possible when I fired this up yesterday

MHA S4 ep.13
Yes Sir, now that was MHA in a nutshell. Over the top Deku saving the world one lil' character at a time. The music, action, and dialog were all great here. borderline cheesy af, but I gobbled it all up and loved it! That action scene with Deku and Overhaul was really something else to watch; so damn good........

In/Spectre:
My buddy almost begged me to watch this and promised is wasn't skeezy loli stuff and so far, I guess he is right. We'll see where it goes for a few more from here as the ending twist was kind of interesting.....

RikeKoi ep.1:
I'm not sure. I usually gobble this stuff up, but the first episode got kind of annoying? I'll watch the other two released episodes to get a better idea if I should stick with it.....

Another horny, aggressive female MC.

Tiolet Hanako-kun episode 1

Visually, it looks amazing. Too many things happened in one episode though.

Interspecies Reviewers episode 1:
That was a lot of fun! There's an impressive amount of fun worldbuilding thrown about which not only makes the world more interesting but makes for some clever humor and jokes during the reviews. The show also has some really good music, and the animation is pretty competent; you can tell the same people that worked on Highschool DxD had a hand in the animation. Its not *quite* as accurate to the manga as I was hoping though, but perhaps that's for the best as its not a manga that's easily replicated in anime form. What's there is pretty darn faithful, particularly in the art department. The show is simply funny and sexy both. I like how the catgirls talk in cat puns every single sentence.

Somali and the Forest Spirit episode 1:
This is sooooo cute! A lot is said through the characters expressions rather than words and I appreciate that. You can tell the Golem's concern for the young girl's safety, and their relationship in general feels very natural. Like Interspecies Reviewers, I love the wide variety of different creatures in the show; its a lot more interesting to look at. The opening is also so very relaxing.

Magia Record episode 2:
I'm really conflicted on this. I'm *enjoying* it but so many questions are being brought up with no real answers. There wasn't any introduction to the characters either; we just had several characters all thrown at us at once and had their own personal character drama brought up in the same episode. How am I supposed to care about their personal drama if I don't even know who these characters are or had time to get to know them? I will say that the show's composer is doing a pretty great job of living up to Kaijura's work on the original Madoka anime, and the show is still rather pretty, but the writing feels very sloppy. Who's this tiny Kyubey? Why are witches more powerful in this town? Why does this girl remember a sister that may or may not exist? The fact that she wished for healing for her little sister also leaves me conflicted because it feels eerily similar to what the first Madoka anime did with Sayaka and her childhood friend. Though, I have a theory that
when Iroha wished to heal her sister, the sister's disease was incurable, so what Kyubey did was made it to where Iroha's sister ceased to exist, thus making it as if she never got sick in the first place. A kind of faustian bargain if you will.

I still have a bunch of "essential" anime I need to watch. Hopefully I can catch up this year.
I started watching Haikyu and Monogatari, and then my plan is to watch Steins Gate, Kimetsu no Yaiba and perhaps Death Note.
There are others I never watched and I think I should, like Hunter x Hunter, Gintama, 3-gatsu and Monster but unfortunately I lack the time.

Dorohedoro episode 1

Holy shit! I need more of this. What a trip it was. The CGI is meh, but it really doesn't sour the experience, it was amazing.

Netflix is terrible for anime with these late ass releases. I couldn't care less for the entire season to be out and dubbed so that I can binge it. Let me watch it legally week to week when it's airing.

Tired of Netflix with this slow ass bullshit. They already have some shows that air weekly, why cant they just do that for anime.

Eizoken 1 & 2

I watch anime like this to remind myself that anime is good and right instead of bad and wrong (badong).

My show of the season most likely unless some other dark horse comes along and surprises me.

my solution for them would be have the week to week japanese release be listed under the japanese title, and then when they have the dub ready release it under the english name (removing the old japanese listing and just having dual audio) so they can still advertise it as a new release and not make people wait.

like I want to wait to watch beastars but I also want to potentially vote for it in the AOTY stuff.

So this actually looks pretty good. Backgrounds are great, and the character models aren't that wonky (Nikaido aside who looks kinda wonky to begin with) but all the characters are wearing masks more then half the time so it shouldn't be too bad.

Would be nice to have an option like this. Their model of adding shows all at once is nice... except in cases with anime with simul-subs being a thing, and then having to wait several months to watch :/

I keep forgetting that Hi-Score Girl II already aired, as well :/

Weirdly enough I remember Violet Evergarden having weekly episodes on Netflix. Don't know why they didn't adopt it to all anime.

I think that was the case in some regions but not in NA. I also dont get why they have different schedules in different regions. Netflix needs to just swallow their pride and do what other streaming platforms do.

Oh. That could be. This was in Finland (maybe because we don't need dubbing it was easier to do weekly release(?)). That was one time thing though as I haven't noticed any other anime to do this after Violet.

Netflix's entire existence is based around the binge watch model.

In this episode, the girls slowly begin to comprehend the hellscape that is anime production.

Yeah, this was pretty damn disturbing, but in a great/interesting kind of way. It's brutal, dark and edgy af, but it works together well. I'll give it a few more episodes to see if it's worth keeping up with.

That does make sense. Still, if Funimation can do simuldubs, a company of Netflix' size should be able to do it no problem.

For sure, but I just wish they didnt try to fuck with established anime watching behavior. If theyre going to lock down exclusives, the least they can do is release them in a timely fashion. They simply dont give a shit and it's going to encourage piracy. I guess the creators dont have to worry since I'm assuming they've already been paid by Netflix.

Netflix doesn't acquire anime for anime fans to watch it, it acquires them for people who watch a little or basically no anime to stumble over it and binge it.

Holy shit Dorohedoro nailed the atmosphere. CGI will always be distracting but the 2D backgrounds and animation were solid so I'm feeling good about this one.

That's why I say fuck them, fuck their business model and I will happily continue to rely on fansubs instead.

Well Fujita managed to protect a good 90% of her.

Goddammit this was kinda funny. You perverts have no idea how much I hate that I liked this.

Probably not gonna happen but I'd love it if they threw in some monster boys in the mix just so the objectification wouldn't feel so one sided.

I just started watching it after watching the anime shorts. Been enjoying it, but I find Japanese dramas about food to be relaxing. Enjoyed Samurai Gourmet too.
