I'd decided that, but the devs seem to think it's worth it to simply add to the challenge given recent tweets. I think if the balance is similar to the demo, normal is going to be too easy for a lot of people. But yeah, I'll only bump it up if anything seems too trivial. or I feel too OP.
30 is when the game actually starts with looter shooters so it’s fine if the road till there is easy.

There is no point in playing on hard until you hit level 30, you’ll replace your gear fast on the way up so an increased drop rate doesn’t matter.
I'd rather play on hard for a bit of a challenge, it's not just about the drop rate for me. I think that would apply to quite a few people as well.

Yeah, but from their trailers it was saying you're likely already at 30 by the time you're done with the main story, and as you only get one chance to play and enjoy that as a whole and it be fresh the one time so I don't personally want to be breezing through it. Whatever gear or level I have by the time I'm done is less important - we've got years afterwards to concern ourselves with that :)

Levelling in this is totally different to something like vanilla Destiny, where I remember being around 26 attempting VoG at first, and then completing it at level 27 once I got that sweet Vision of Confluence and levelled it up. Then gaining raid gear to max out and, well, have nothing to do with it lol - so the game definitely didn;t begin at this level, for me it ended abruptly. So at least having the whole game as end game for grinding better drops on harder difficulties means we're less likely to have a "so what now?" kind of scenario any time soon, and worrying about that once I've consumed the story works for me.

Judging by the demo hard seems like a fun level of challenge, that's why I'm going for it. Might struggle a little early on when you have crappy gear but it should even out at some point.

Plus I'm in no hurry to get to 30.

Good on you iFirez, I take back everything I said about your *insert most offensive loved one here*!

Haters gonna hate. I love the cheeky nature of the *redacted* title, Mass Effect is probably my favorite series ever and I find nothing malicious about the title.

The only title I’d like better would be
Anthem |OT| *Redacted*
but that is too meta ;)

With you working at it with Datajoy . I'm sure the OT will be beautiful.

If ypu have free time aftewards, want to put together some graphics for the The Division 2 OT? lol
I have no clue if I'd get time for it with Anthem being out - hit me up nearer the time and I'll see how busy I am. The Anthem OT and then the game its self are my main focuses right now.

The one and only Neill Blomkamp is working on something Anthem related:
If people are wondering why I'm so 'jazzed' about this... Neill Blomkamp is the director behind District 9, Elysium, Chappie and one of my all time favourite live action Halo videos ever. He's also behind Oat's Studios who released a bunch of awesome short films like Rakka, Zygote and Firebase: https://www.youtube.com/OatsStudios

I’m torn on what platform to go with - was originally hands down X1X but the performance was brutal. Considering PS4 Pro as it performers better and will likely have a larger community, but then the PC version ran best on my rig. Main issue there in my limited experience with looter shooters on PC is that I’m more concerned about cheaters and such due to the open nature of PC.

However if they can pull out a better performance on the X then I’ll go for that one.

What platform is everyone else thinking?

I only have a PS4 so I'll be going with that. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance on the Pro in the demo, though I'm only on a 1080p set so I might be spoilt in that regard - hopefully we can optimise for framerate in the full game.

Most of my friends play on PS4, but with how the demo ran I simply cannot support that platforms release.

I will most likely play on PC and hope they allow crossplay or cross saves at some point. I'll double dip to play with my friends when they do.

It's a play on "Havin' a good time", if you say "Javelin a good time" out loud it sounds like "Ja havin' a good time" kind of. I think its a fun bit of word play.
That's the first thing that actually came to mind, but when you pronounce it simply as javelin, it kind of doesn't work.

For me X1X, I am sure that one will, eventually, be the best performing console version. The widescreen PC support is also tempting me....

Little confused about launch. It comes out on PC first? When can Xbox/EA Access users get their 10 hours in?
If you're an Origin Access Premier member you get full access to the game starting the 15th Feb (10:30pm UTC - 14th Feb) - Origin Access Basic and EA Access Xbox One members get access to the game too but on a 10 hour trial basis, meaning they can play whatever they want but are limited to only 10 hours of the game.

The games official launch on 22nd February (5:00am UTC - 22nd Feb) is for all platforms, pre-orders...etc. So in reality only Origin Access Premier members get the full game a week early and Basic/EA Access members get 10 hours of it a week early.

TLDR;
PC Origin Premier Members - Full Game 15th
PC Origin Basic Members - 10 hour trial 15th
Xbox One EA Access Members - 10 hour trial 15th
PC Non-Origin Members, Xbox One, PS4 - Full Game 22nd

I'm thinking you shouldn't judge performance based on the demo build. Wait for the full game analysis!

So no way for a Xbox person to become a premier member with EA Access I guess is the question I was getting at.

Oh well, I'll spend those 10 hours wisely, I usually do, will just be happy to play.

This is true and I do expect performance improvements on the X, however the timeliness of said improvements is important. Thankfully I do have EA access so I can try the trial on the 15th.

Not a fan of the early launch shenanigans, wish everyone had the same options or that none were present at all and everyone had access to the game on the same date (as one of the devs also wanted). I'm planning to play it on ps4 since that's where most of my friends will be but I got the 10 hour trial on xbox just because I'm curious how much better the performance on the 1x will be compared to the demo.

This whole early access thing is a downer. They rather give people full access to the game who buy into their premium subscription that's PC only, on a sub trial or who buy the sub and cancel before anyone who actually preordered the game. I don't count the 10 hour trial here because it's such a short amount of time.

If premium was available everywhere I would be a bit more understanding of the situation, but even then early releases just kill the hype. Is the OT going to be spoiler free for weeks, since people will be running end game by the time everyone else gets to play. This is a game that would really benefit from a community all starting together.
