You can't have dozens and dozens of alien species interacting with one another and not have dissent. Sometimes that dissent needs handling, bruh.

What most recently messed with my idea of the Federation as a utopia was when I was rewatching The Next Generation and realized that no one really gave a fuck about Riker's rape allegations.
