Do you have any side skills like do you play guitar or anything? You could provide lessons for ~ $20-30/lesson in the evenings.
Freelance art, Headshots if you do photography, blogging, resale.
I really need to get my portrait work going again to pay off some debt but my motivation has been lacking the past month. The heat doesn't help.
Find a niche industry and specialize in it, like Etsy, and make idk Airpod covers with video game character heads or something
Find a useful product/raw material for your area and become an importer of it
The issue comes down to home much time/risk/reward/skill you have
My wife needs to do this. She draws so many furry-like characters and is great at it but she never bothers to attempt trying that market.

Oof. I get what you're saying and I've donated plasma for close to two years straight back in college and have to puncture marks in the crooks of my arms to prove it. Never will I go that extreme again...

I just paid someone $150 to redo my resume, cover and LinkedIn. Specifically to optimize them so they get through automated screening at big companies
And it worked quite well
I haven't done it in several years so I don't know if it's still worth your time today, but when money was tight I was doing small tasks for Amazon Mechanical Turk (Mturk), such as university/corporate research studies and surveys, transcription, and other random tasks companies/people paid for. It isn't a lot of money (when I was most active I was making a few hundred per week) and you need to join a community to identify which tasks are worth doing, but it's great for making money on the side from home without being tied to a schedule that might conflict with another job.

OP, you mentioned a degree in journalism. Try freelance editing/copywriting services. My brother does it and he has to turn down offers because so many jobs come in.
There are probably some gigs you can do like writing students essays or other papers. If you don't like that, there are people/sites that will pay for pro writers as gig work.
Doesnt even have to be porn. Go to a popular game subreddit, in a game where you have your own avatar. Make some cool portraits from characters from that game to show off and people will pay you for a portrait of their own character. Games like WoW or Sea of Thieves.
I mean, yeah. Put it in an index fund and then don't touch it. It's pretty much the easiest possible way to make more money over time.
If you've got a great body maybe only fans could be a possibility. You can go incognito with a mask too so no one will ever know who you really are lol I think there's some muscle guy on there that wears a panda mask with tons of followers lol
