This is the first reference that springs to my mind.
The Apex Predators are a mercenary unit of elite Pilots led by the mercenary commander Kuben Blisk. They fight for the highest bidder regardless of moral ethics, and will do whatever is required to earn their paycheck.
It'll depend on the charges and the cooldown, Phase Shift (before the late 2017 patch nerf) was hands down the most powerful tactical ability in Titanfall 2 (at least imo!), phasing into the upside down in a battle royale setting where you have only one life would put you in a huge advantage in 1v1 situations.
I definitely agree on this, and now that I'm seeing more in the style shift in their materials, I understand the logo choice on their end. That being said, I think the choice to eschew the thing that best differentiates their gameplay (and could play well in branding) is an odd one. I'm a Titanfall fan, and enjoy this genre, and I'm not feeling this yet. Chasing an established genre by more closely mimicking what's already there is odd, though I can imagine someone saying they're tailoring it to what works. Fingers crossed, I suppose.
