Lol yeah I found that funny as well. I guess Fortnite is both simultaneously a 'kids game' and one that requires too many build skills.

Honeslty, it would have sufficed if they had made it subscription-based like many Moba & MMO's have done. And eventually come back to it like a year later or so to update it enough and get it out of its Beta state. So much talent and vision wasted.
There are 2 active projects in vdevelopment called Predecessor and CORE, which are Paragon remakes and both look excellent. Both getting betas in March. I made a thread about Predecessor as they recently uploaded a gameplay video and it looks awesome.
Pretty much nothing has been able to replace it for me. It took up almost all of my gaming time when it was active. It was my first Moba experience for me too.

Majority of the playerbase is in Asia. And idk how popular twitch is , or if they use other streaming services there.
But sure go ahead , its a dead game. And its hilarious how you are using COD as a measuring stick for failure. When COD is basically the biggest game every year except when a rockstar game comes out.
Idk where you are pulling those COD numbers from , but i'd like it see if its doing 835k peak now and not around launch.

I was hearing some around 10-11 year olds talking about it when I went Swimming Today, It's in the cultural zeitgiest, It's going to do pretty good.
That's a good point. Free to play and "AAA" aren't usually attached to the same game. Apex is both but most others won't be. I really want AAA development to continue on even though I know it's a harsh landscape these days.
You don't need to pay though. Just play tbe game and you'll earn enough credits to buy them
Let's hope Stinkles is fibbing. A BR with Halo gunplay and vehicles would really be amazing.
Most likely the new map will be an IW landmarked one released this fall. The assumption at this point is that the dedicated Blackout team will be making it with IW. But who knows. If the rumors are true and the IW map hits at launch then it will be the fastest new map release for any BR.
But who knows.

They already are/have. COD has "Call of Duty Online" in China, plus the new Call of Duty : Legends of war in beta for everyone.
Battlefield had Battlefield: Heros and Battlefield Play4free which was a ftp version of BF2.
You said Paragon was mediocre and bland and I am simply in complete disagreement. It may not have been for you (and that's fine), but the game had a lot going on for it and matches were lively as it could be and gameplay was one of the best ever conceived out there on the Moba field. Game simply suffered from a terrible upper management team incapable of absorbing feedback and promotion for the game was flat out nonexistent.

There's the Fortnite players who hate building and bloom who can now play a BR with a lot of personality but without the crazy skyscrapers.
There's the PUBG players who can't stand the bugs and performance issues who want deep shooting mechanics like bullet drop and predictable recoil.
There's the Overwatch players who love the charm and fantasy of hero games and being a specialist member of a team composition with asymmetric gameplay.
There's the Titanfall players who love mobility and flashy plays who get to parkour and slide all over the map.
And then there's people like me who just end up playing what their friends are playing lol

Probably and that's why Blackout will never make numbers like an Apex or Fortnite would. If there was any common sense at Activision at all they'd spin Blackout into free to play as soon as possible. It already has battlepasses and cosmetic purchases ready to go.
Holy fucking shit. They need to put this on mobile/switch ASAP, then maybe it has a shot at fortnite.
It's so awesome to finally have a good BR game without any bullshit. I can't stand Fortnite for the whole 'shoot someone and they turn into a luxury home' aspect and cringe emotes, and PUBG is buggy, clunky, and looks and performs like absolute shit. Also there's no dumb starting area where you just run around doing nothing for absolutely no reason!

Worst is strong, but I feel whatever uniqueness it had from PUBG and Fortnite is gone now with this game. It's nestled in a fully priced CoD on top of that on consoles. I don't see it having the staying power.

$60 games are just about dead honestly (unless you're Nintendo). They're definitely dead in Japan.
I had to learn the hard way, I put some money (a little bit) down on Activision last year because of the positive word of mouth of Black Ops 4, seeing as it was going the BR route, and the stock has completely tanked since then.
$60 is a huge barrier to entry when there's F2P everywhere.
Apex has basically made me stop playing Blackout... which sucks because I paid $35 digital for it... I guess there is traditional cod mp and zombies.

Listen, I'm about as happy for a successful F2P game to land as anyone. But the notion that $60 games are dead is laughable.
Couldn't be more deserving. Way to go Vince. Dude builds a great series for EA goes to activision to create a blockbuster for them, then comes back to EA and has his next IP that had tons of potential sent to die. Great to see him get another amazing franchise up and running.
EA screwed him over multiple times, Medal of Honor and titanfall. They better do some sucking now that he has created a golden goose for the studio. The money this game is about to rake in will dwarf battlefront and battlefield. Prob combined
