I hope they put in some changes to KC before they add it to ranked. I'd probably like to see a mini-captiol with large multi-floor buildings and some underground tunnels.

Me, too. This game just keeps crashing and crashing on my PC since late October Nvidia drivers. Reddit is full of threads with that DXGI Error. I regret spending money on this. :(
Yes Kings Canyon needs changed I feel before ranked. You can fly almost anywhere on the map regardless of the flight path. It'll be so easy to get points in ranked. I was rolling through teams with crypto last night. One area I destroyed several other teams and information just kept coming from his drone. They had no time to find it and it's easy to hide in the canyon. And this is with it being dark and glowing orange! You can put the drone under buildings, near crevices, behind little rock formations. I've been good at him and hiding it on World's Edge but this is way easier. I can't imagine how many assists you can get with him in the new season. Just one emp and you may hit 6 enemies and destroy several traps on Kings Canyon easily. I could see that happening often as well.
I mean overall it's fun and I enjoy the map; however it needs maybe one city area. Possibly outside and attached to the slums area would be great and make it look intricate and a massive city. Also if they can add some more land space and changes to the environment it would work. Add an all out jungle area with a fair amount of forest and cover.

I actually think an objective mode would be way better for Apex. The train event at xmas was a good idea but I'd love to see a proper escort mode similar to Overwatch.
Capture the flag with the balloons and maybe rotating various capture/base points across the map could work as well. Make it where the flag doesn't immediately return upon touch so it can create some interesting battles at random points around the maps used. Warkawk was great for this on PS3.
Yeah done with the KC mode. Much prefer World's Edge. Yeah, Dome/Lava City is a dead area, but one balloon and you're in the hot spot of that choke point of Sorting/Fuel/Capitol. And judging by the construction signs a lot of the empty areas are planning on being removed.
And as I've said 100 times in this thread already, KC's interior building design is awful. Bunker is...interesting but other than that, the shacks and outskirt buildings seems so haphazardly put together.
All negativity aside, I'm REALLY excited/curious about tomorrow's game mode. I'm hoping the popular theory of it being an AI testing ground for the imminent PVE mode is true. (And hopefully that mode comes with season 4! It sounds insane!)

I think I'm done with this game. Not at fault with the game itself, but I'm just sick of the BR formula.
I'll likely still play a match here or there, but I'm done committing serious time to this.
I'd love if they brought out non-BR modes with these characters though.

Holy smokes, it's happening. Also them reusing a TF1 map image is just *chef's kiss*.
Overall this was their best event so far. Huge variety of game modes, high-quality cosmetics, great pacing, nice free rewards.

I assume they'll offer the battle pass for season 4 as well which is what I'm interested in. But if we can keep the Battle Pass even after a monthly sub runs out then it's a great deal.
KC is clicking with me today, won some good games. The longbow is better than the G7 here, dunno why.

I don't understand why they can't just leave King's Canyon up and let people choose between the two maps. At the very least make it a rotating mode in the game where it stays up for 2 weeks and goes away. There should always be an "arcade" playlist in Apex and this could be one way to do it. Overwatch had it too.

If there's one thing the ranked system gets sort of right, it's that tanking doesn't really work. Like in silver you'd have to throw 10 matches for every good game.

Apex's lack of additional game modes still baffles my mind, it's the only BR that does this. They don't even need to add permanent ones, but even just a LTM that changes the mode every week and let it pull from all the previously used ones. For the main mode though, I think they need to take the PUBG approach and just put them both in and it's just randomly selected.
We don't know that, though. The only thing they said is that ranked split 2 will be on KC. That doesn't mean KC won't be available in regular mode at the start of S4.

- Loot Pinata, loot is spawned in front of you as if a cargo bot was destroyed
- Emergency Dance Party where you spawn a bunch of decoys that do a dance.

The mode description is "This game isn't gonna test itself" so I suspect that as well. The instant area heal could be a replacement for Lifeline's ultimate because it would make more sense with Lifeline's other abilities.
No idea if the loot pinata could be a new ability. Probably just a better version of the dummy's random loot spawner.
This mode can get a bit crazy, especially if down to last few squads.
A few times I've been near death and a random ult healed me! Sometimes not even my squad, the enemies.
Not knowing what ult will pop makes the game more random - I like it as an LTM.
