Feeling down that the Louisiana State Athletic Marks Commission is neutering all your favorite wrestlers' movesets? Well turn that frown upside down! You know what isn't banned in the state of Louisiana? You know what doesn't need a special exemption? Smashing the inside of your forearm across some schmuck's face. That's right, embrace the POWER of the greatest move in the history of the world: the lariat.

Skinny, athletic pretty boy trying to put some hair on your moveset's chest? Lariat.

giphy.gif

An aspiring hoss woman looking to stake your claim atop the mountain of broken bodies and bruised clavicles? Lariat.

e7kskmupkt2z.gif

Maybe you're just a big lad looking to focus all of your body's energy into that hambone attached to your wrist? Lariat.

giphy.gif

Are you in a precarious position with a flippy dippy jabroni trying to dump you on your treetrunk neck? Fuck that shit. Lariat.

But no matter who you are. No matter your position in wrestling history. No matter if you're at the top of the mountain or in the gutters. You pray to your legally blind patron saint of lariats, Stanley Hansen.

dragon-gate.png
Dragon Gate
- Japanese promotion focused around speed and factions. Dragon Gate Network debuts on April 1st with a 999 yen lite tier which only includes access to archived matches and a with a 1499 yen live tier which comes with live streamed events, replays, access to the archive, interviews and so much more! Compared to the other Japanese streaming services this should provide the greatest archival access due to the nature of their tv deal.

All Japan Pro Wrestling - AJPW may not be the powerhouse it used to be but it's in the middle of a resurgence thanks to its top ace Kento Miyahara and its high level main event scene. It launched its own streaming service this past month and by all accounts it works beautifully. Just don't expect a massive archive due to the nature of tv rights. Although it does have live streaming like NJPW, DDT, and Dragon Gate.

World_Wonder_Ring_Stardom.png
Stardom
- The top Joshi all women's promotion in Japan currently. The main event scene is arguably the best women's main event scene in the world, they have a great rookie class, and a great middle class of developing wrestlers. On Demand streaming service with English subtitled content.

Big_Japan_Pro_Wrestling_logo.jpg
Big Japan Pro Wrestling - BJW is your one-stop shop for deathmatches and big beefy men putting their big beefy mitts on each other. BJW Core is their streaming service and it's a heaping pile of poop even if the wrestling isn't. Patience is a virtue with BJW Core but it's certainly worth the wait.
http://www.bjwcore.com/ - 888¥

Pro_Wrestling_WAVE.png
Pro Wrestling Wave - Wave Network is one of the only other Japanese women's wrestling streaming services and it actually predates Stardom's. Inexplicably it's still a worse service with no english subtitles for promos and the uploading is sporadic. It still has some very high level women's wrestlers in the promotion and are much more flexible with co-promoting than Stardom so there's a great variety.
http://zabun-japan.com/wave_network/ - 888¥

latest
Marvelous - Marvelous is a fledgling Japanese women's wrestling promotion run by joshi icon Chigusa Nagayo. It mirrors Sendai Pro in that it has a small core of homegrown wrestlers that they develop by bringing in a steady flow of various freelance performers. Former Stardom wrestler Takumi Iroha is their ace but wrestlers like Rin Kadokura and Mio Momono are developing a strong following. Their streaming service is part of freshlive.tv and it's the cheapest at 600 yen. They also have one of the best turnaround times in terms of uploads.

latest
PWG
- Arguably the top US indy currently. Less of a traditional promotion, PWG is a hangout for wrestlers across the indies to go all out and have fun. Shows can be exhausting, and the delay from show to release is maddening. Worth it.
http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/merch/ - $15/DVD $20/Blu-Ray On Demand/Never

ROHwrestling.png
ROH
- Ring of Honor was historically the #2 or 3 promotion in the US, but the lustre has gone as of late. Yoshi-Hashi main eventing in 2017 is all you need to know. There are a lot of talented guys there however, as well as a New Japan partnership. Their back catalog still holds up.

SHIMMER
- Top US

women's promotion. Has hosted the likes of Beth Phoenix, Becky Lynch, Paige, Asuka, Natalya, Mickie James, Ember Moon, Blue Pants, Nikki Cross and more. No On Demand, which is frustrating, as is their release schedule. They're currently about a year and a half behind.

In tribute to this most auspicious monthly theme, take a moment to listen to these inspiring words from the Patron Saint of Lariats, Stan Hansen;

Probably time that gets removed from the ICW description, since that was back in November 2016. Speaking of, meant to be announcing where F&L XI takes place this year sometime soon. I don't think they'll be doing the Hydro again, might be reigning back to a smaller venue like the SECC.

New Day interrupts.

Hogan says "What's up BROTHERS"

Xavier responds "What do you mean.... BROTHERS?"

BROTHER DUDE NO THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT BROTHER

the crowd laughs and all is forgiven. OHHHHHH THAT LOVABLE HULKSTER

Great OT for my favorite move in pro wrestling!

I think I remember that the New Day said they would just outright leave if Hogan came back... wonder if that is still true?

I kinda expect Vince to send a couple of black wrestlers to the ring to hug him so you can get a feeling that "see hogan has black friends he can't be racist!"

I'm so hyped for Reigns/Brock II that I'll even take Brock winning if it means we can get Reigns/Brock III at Money In The Bank. Hell, maybe they could do Reigns/Brock III at that Greatest Royal Rumble PPV if Brock wins.

I dun' even care. I just want them to beat the shit out of each other. Blood, stiff shots, everything. And if I can see it for a third time, it'll be welcome.

On Kenny Omega dressing up as Bury The Bear and attacking him: "Well I think Kenny— again, if you ask people today kind of who is the best wrestler in the world, especially wrestling fans, they're very likely going to tell you you either Kenny Omega or [Kazuchika] Okada. I think Kenny is carving out a reputation as an unbelievable wrestler. But I've said this before — that's easy to do when you barely ever wrestle, when you pretty much take a month off, do one match, take another month off. I work full-time, whether it's on ALL IN, my own show, whether it's Ring of Honor, whether it's New Japan, I make every show. Whereas Kenny, I was actually surprised by him even coming to Vegas. I think Kenny is now aware he can't just be an underground band that everybody says is really good but they don't know any of the names of the songs. He actually is going to have to deliver at the highest stage with the entire wrestling world in one spot, that being New Orleans. I think he sees that. As for ruining Bury the Drug-Free Bear ... Hey, there goes $1,200 on a bear suit. Thing is, there's another mascot who I'm bringing into the fold. He's all business and I'm very excited. He'll be appearing on Ring of Honor TV very soon, and he'll also be at Supercard of Hono
