Aquaman is off to a great start.

Aquaman turned DC's second-best opening night into Warner Bros.' best opening day ever in China! After starting with $1.19M in midnight preview screenings, the James Wan film hauled in a total of $24.6M on its first day in the Middle Kingdom. Aquaman now has a chance to top $80M in its opening weekend in the world's second-largest movie market.

Can't wait to watch this!

How many of you got the Amazon Prime tickets for the 15th? I passed up on it since it was regular format.

My favorite theater is only showing it in IMAX 3D for some reason. Just bizzarre. Can't find anywhere playing it in Dolby either which sucks.

Aquaman's going to beat Justice League at the box office.

James Wan is super talented, this comes as no surprise.

I can't watch movies for a bit because I have a newborn but this will be #1 with a bullet on 4K release.

I've never seen a movie in dolby or even heard of it. Fanciest I've seen is a 4D movie at a toho cinema in tokyo. What's Dolby?

Much higher contrast ratio like going from LCD to OLED you get much deeper blacks and richer color. You also get Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos surround sound which uses ceiling speakers for audio above you. Seats that vibrate with bass too and much fancier leather seats that have buttons which control how they recline.

The screen isn't as big as IMAX or the same aspect ratio but it's a much better experience overall. More expensive too but worth it for me since I'll maybe watch a film once every 2 months.
