Me too, but at least I've got spotify to hold me over. Speaking of which, its finally time. That sucks, it's happened to me before, but seldomly, hope it gets delivered early.

Im listening to it now.Ahhh Stream is out.
To listen now or wait for my record tomorrow??
I dunno man, but after listening to it the first time, I revoke all my prior complaints about it. Listening to it a second time. I really appreciate everything this album has to offer, and it'll probably become one of my favorites of the year.Hah. I'm listening to this track now. It's also quite good. The whole album is good so far! I don't get the hate?
Yeah. It's really, really interesting. Complex, great lyrics so far (fuck, the lyrics on 4 out of 5 are so easy to relate to here in Portland) and just... fucking good.I dunno man, but after listening to it the first time, I revoke all my prior complaints about it. The sticky, gooey basslines, the way the guitar weaves in and out and adds atmosphere to each track, the way it rings out in its 60's like tone and how much the piano and synths add to the music then Alex's voice and writing on top of it all. I'm so so so glad I ordered the vinyl and bought tickets to see them because, I'm so happy with how this turned out.Yeah. It's really, really interesting. I know few will agree, but this is the best album of the Arctic Monkeys if you ask me. It sounds so damn good.
YES. Honestly, it reminds me of the Beatles at times. Especially the bass. The basslines are the best I've heard in years. Also, SCIENCE FICTION IS AMAZING. the more I listen to it, the more I love it.
I was going to point that out earlier but I didn't want to deal with the potential of someone coming in and getting bent out of shape over it. But yeah Science Fiction is one of the songs that had immediately jumped out at me on first listen.YES. Honestly, it reminds me of the Beatles at times. Especially the bass. Thing is, I get it. I really, really get it. I live in Portland, OR, and it's been blowing up since... well, since people started watching Portlandia and moving here. This city is changing so quickly, and in a lot of ways that aren't for the better. So when there's a song about gentrification, with a chorus talking about a taqueria on a roof and how "hip and cool" it is? FUCK YES."I put a taqueria on the roof
It was well reviewed
Four stars out of five"
I swear to god only Alex could make those lyrics work flawlessly in a song lmao. I love this album.
Closing tracks can be either amazing or kinda meh in a concept album like this, but that's okay. Gotta close it out somehow.Ultracheese I'd say is a little weaker, but I think it's just because I don't like the instrumentation as much as the other songs, it's more straightforward and less moody and layered I think.
I told ya homieI dunno man, but after listening to it the first time, I revoke all my prior complaints about it. Listening to it a second time. I really appreciate everything this album has to offer, and it'll probably become one of my favorites of the year.
sometimes hearing "fuck that , you'll be alright" on the Death Grips song "Whatever I Want" does that to me, especially with the quiet droning calm that happens afterwards. You know that feeling you get in your chest when someone you really care about says something heartfelt to you? That thing you've always wanted to hear. Has a piece of music ever made you feel that way? Asking for a friend.
The Frozen Tundra Simians made this album called Melancholy Footing Resort and Gambling services. I gotta say it gets me feeling some kinda waysometimes hearing "fuck that , you'll be alright" on the Death Grips song "Whatever I Want" does that to me, especially with the quiet droning calm that happens afterwards.
sounds divisive, I'll give it a peep! The Frozen Tundra Simians made this album called Melancholy Footing Resort and Gambling services. I gotta say it gets me feeling some kinda way
Absolutely dude. The pre release negativity I feel is so blown out of proportion. The album is honestly one of their best, if not THE best.I know few will agree, but this is the best album of the Arctic Monkeys if you ask me. It sounds so damn good.
In all seriousness and completely off topic: I need you to listen to this and tell me what you think.

Yeah, so this is fantastic. Amazing mood, very lounge-like atmosphere. Reminds me of This is Hardcore by Pulp a little bit, though not as dark.
Love that they went this direction rather than chase after the AM fanbase
SameI'll give it a listen tomorrow, I've been meaning to check out a Gizzard record. Thanks for the rec!
Everyone must know the tragic story of Han-Tyumi and his existential dilemmaSame
Also my cat was playing with a Popeyes hot sauce packet and then actually punctured it... lmao

Will do. Honestly, I've had a problem with music for the past few years. I used to work at a music venue, and was a music director of a college radio station, and worked for a music promotion company.... and I genuinely lost passion for music. I need to get it back, somehow. This album is helping. Both of you do it, you won't regret it. Phenomenal band. Murder of the universe is fantastic, I personally prefer Polygondwanaland. But listen to both... Or all their songs... Lol
soogoodScience Fiction said:Religious iconography giving you the creeps?
I feel rougher than a disco lizard tongue along your cheek
The rise of the machines
I must admit you gave me something momentarily
In which I could believe
But the hand of harsh reality's un-gloved
And it's on its way back in to scoop you up
But not on my watch
I want to stay with you my love
The way some science fiction does
Reflections in the silver screen of strange societies
Swamp monster with a hard on for connectivity
The ascension of the C.R.E.A.M
Mass panic on a not too distant future colony
Quantitative easing
I want to make a simple point about peace and love
But in a sexy way where it's not obvious
Highlight dangers and send out hidden messages
The way some science fiction does

Lol I actually found out about them like really late last year thanks to Pandora and have really been digging them alot. So I was like, there's no way in hell he's thinking this...
Murder of the Universe and Flying Microtonal Banana for me, was lucky enough to find the colored versions of both records at the same shop. Never have I bought records so quick. Both of you do it, you won't regret it. Phenomenal band. Murder of the universe is fantastic, I personally prefer Polygondwanaland. But listen to both... Never heard of em til now, but I'll add em to my list next to the Murlocs. But yeah I'm honestly gunna do the same lol, but going to stay up for a bit longer. On to album play #4 now.About to go-to bed with traquility base playing on my Google home, but just going to ask, I'll see the answer when I wake up.
Omnipotent thoughts on pond??!?!
I'm kinda drunk so I think it'd be funny to have it be the title of the new John Mayer single which is excellent btw hahahah it's called "New Light"If you guys can agree on your favorite line from a song (that will fit the title) ill get it changed. Right now im thinking "What do you mean you've never seen Blade Runner?"
Though admitedly I dont know if itll fit
My other thought was to have it be "There's a wizard on the moon!" Or some other variation because that line from Destiny 1 will never not be funny.I'm kinda drunk so I think it'd be funny to have it be the title of the new John Mayer single which is excellent btw hahahah it's called "New Light"
