No. They aren't even remotely the same. Sober up and delete this thread.

I was going to reply but the one with the dwarfs is superior, and then I realized I don't remember which one has the little people.

Both fall asleep and need to be awaken by true love's first kiss right? Don't a lot of fairy tales have similar premises?

I hated what they did with Mulan. She never would've never snapped Shan-Yu's neck and there wasn't enough color. #NotMuhlan #HackSnyder

Edit: real talk tho since someone kinda brought it up, Shrek is a million times better than Beauty and the Beast in almost all aspects, unironically

ppsss.....disney did not came up with those stories.....almost every disney animated feature was merely adapted from the original source material to make it 'disney-like'....

I could add more ^^^^^ but I think I made my point.

Don't worry OP in my head they are the same person. In my defense I did miss out on most Disney movies from when I was younger.

There's like three decades between those films though. That's long enough for Disney to reboot/remake even if that was the case.

Sleeping Beauty was the poor man's Snow White.

"What if we take away all the cool stuff like witches, magic mirrors, sentient animals, and bumbling dwarves?"
"So... Just the part where she falls asleep?"
"Yeah."
"Can we at least keep the prince?"
"....Aw, alright."

one prince had to fight a giant dragon and kiss a sleeping beauty.

one hunter had to bang an evil stepmom and free her daughter from some crystal coffin, also some pornographic dwarves are also in there somewhere...

Would the prince from Snow want to marry her if he believed she was a peasant?

Those are the type of questions that keep me up at night

Snow White is about jealousy and fear.

Sleeping Beauty is about pettiness and spite.

One has dwarfs, the other has a dragon.

In one a commoner is the unwitting target of attempted murder and torture.
In the other, a princess lives under the constant threat of an inevitable curse.

Sleeping Beauty's villain was more intimidating than a vain mother who wanted to kill her own daughter.

Plus I really like Sleeping Beauty's Song.

My high school English teacher ruined a lot of media for me, by making us notice overused patterns in stories. We were once informed we'd be watching a film adaptation of Beowulf and it turned out to be a surf documentary.

You're not completely wrong. Sleeping Beauty is partially based on discarded ideas from Snow White. And it was originally supposed to release on the 20th anniversary of Snow White's release before it was delayed.

Think of it as being heavily inspired by Snow White to commemorate 20 years of Disney films.

In the process, they gave us one of the most beautifully animated films ever.

And sadly, they are the most well-known versions. :/

I mean even Rudyard Kipling's daughter apparently didn't like Disney's version of the Jungle Book. You'd be surprised we've been pronouncing "Mowgli" wrong.

As for the topic, no Snow White and Sleeping Beauty aren't the same story. The differences should be very clear cut.

the real jungle book is not exactly a children's tale...the ending is basically snuff film level.
