Lots of new content for January

- New Free Quests
- Second episode of the first DLC chapter.
- New in game vendor that allows you to buy engravings and upgrade the tier of them
- New Cyclops to fight
- Aya as an Ubisoft Club reward
- Enemy scaling option, you can choose to have all enemies being at your same level, or at lower levels
- 2 more character packs

I'm shocked with all the content that this game has, I haven't even finished the main quest and I already played 70 hours approx, I even thought that they released the entire first chapter of the season pass, but it was only the first episode of it

I hope there is a Discovery mode like in Origins. That might have been my favorite part of that game.

Really close to 100% it right now? Still have the first DLC chapter to do but I am beyond happy to see the game adding more stuff. This is an excellent support from Ubisoft.

I really dig Odyssey, and they'll be supporting it well into the summer. Bring on Discovery Mode. I'm about halfway through Origin's, and it's a good lazy Sunday edutainment experience.

Oh nice, Lalaia finally gets some content.

I like the level scaling options. I always hated when games would scale the enemies to your level. I always like the feeling of leveling up and becoming stronger against the early game enemies.

I thought the enemy level scaling was a good design choice. It was really easy to out-level a lot of the islands that were not necessary to the story. I wouldn't be really interested in returning to them if I was 10 levels higher than the enemies there. The lack of level scaling maybe works to make a world more believable in a certain game, but in AC Odyssey where everyone has numbers floating above their heads and stabbing someone can either completely kill them or make them wobble a bit based on that number, I don't think it adds much in terms of that.

Bad inclusion IMO.

They really are making a great game even more incredible with all this free updates, always thinking about the player wants.
Ubisoft has been great with updates with this game, really hope they go this way in the future with all their games. Super happy about the level scaling options as I prefered how oigins was in that regard compared to odyssey.

I hope they fixed filnally Roxanna's quest with this update.

Its an option, you are not forced to play it like that.

Wait, there's an option to make level scaling even more intense.
  • Heavy – All enemies remain at your level.
  • Normal – No change in the difficulty settings.
  • Light – Content is around two levels below your level.
  • Very Light – Content is around four levels below your level

Legit impressed that it's not just an on/off.

I guess turning on level scaling would allow you to pretty much zip through the story without com8ng up on level walled areas. I might dive back in and finally.finish it.

I mean as an option it doesn't hurt your experience cause at the end of the day, it's optional adjustments.

Great inclusion IMO.

If it's optional and allows a person to play how they want to best utilize their time, it's all good.

Disabling Level Scaling will increase the need to grind since the XP games from side missions won't net the same level of XP (as I doubt the story missions are going to change from the current level requirements). This will screw new players who don't know any better and encourage boosters more.

The scaling made it far less grindy to the point where I never felt underleveled and forced out of my way to level in regards to story missions. The game wasn't a real grind IMO. Enabling this change will likely change that. Ill stick to the defaults myself.

I really should push through the rest of the Odyssey line of quests but I can't help but do EVERY quest that shows up on an island.

Other than the stupid kill Polemarchs quests in Athens and Sparta, I get sucked into everything else. That said it has led me to find the creature fights organically rather than seeking them out which was really cool.

Do we know if there's some technical reason there's no option to wear head gear during 'cutscenes' in the game?

I didn't find her when i was doing the 100 fight story so i had to kill her!!

One of the updates bugged her quest (you only could do it before the second patch released IIRC), theres no mark for her to go to find her in the other island, and if you go to her location, she acts as she is already angruy with you instead of giving you an option to help her.
She is a romance option and recruitable so the bug was kind of shit. They already know about it and were looking into it some updates ago.

Due to how the game calculates damage, a +4 level advantage effectively makes you invincible and enemies die in one hit, without the loot the enemies drop completely sucking.

Ahhh, understandable. I faces enemies 2 levels lower than me with the normal scaling,l so I thought 4 more wouldnt be that different. Stil would like if the level numbers of the islands on the map didnt go up even if the enemies went.

Killing that final mercenary was kind of a joke. I was level 50 and so was he, but I expected more of a fight. I tracked him walking down a road, sneaked up behind him, and took 80% of his life with my initial strike. Quickly finished him off after that with no fanfare. That could have been a lot better.

The firehorse I got for doing it was awesome, though. Especially since I gave legit consideration to paying money for that horse, without knowing it was a reward for killing that merc.

Lmao.

It went for very cheap on Malaysia PSN but I decided against it because of what I heard about the level scaling. Hopefully it goes in sale again in the summer.

No mention of a bug fix for the Across The Border mission. The woman you escort somehow teleported under the map and I can't complete that quest.

June: DLC 2 part 2
July: DLC 2 part 3

They are putting so much into this game. It's incredible.

SO THAT'S WHY i never found her !!!!
I was on the "other" island first knowing about Roxanna wanted to train, and THEN i went on the 100 fighters island!

I got the season pass for Christmas but I've been holding off playing it until I can get confirmation on whether the rumour about

being forced into a het relationship and having children

is true. Really hope it isn't ://

That is a great update.

I already played +120 hours and I have yet to finish the main story.

I would love an option on level scaling that would keep all enemies a level above our level.

If it's optional and allows a person to play how they want to best utilize their time, it's all good.
The problem with the "it's optional" argument is the logical conclusion to this is any shitty way to play the game a developer can think of to is exempt from criticism apparently because the player can just choose not to do that. If AC Odyssey's next patch includes 15 different ways to make the camera wobble, as long as they include the option for it to not do that, you might as well not say anything. Because no one will respond to your points. But now we've got 15 different ways for the camera to wobble in a game, and none of them are good.

Obviously my complaining on a forum will not do much to move the needle, you can still choose what you want, but I'm not going to not argue for what I think the best game looks like.

Also, looks like the level scaling isn't an on/off thing but more just various degrees away from your character's level, so I guess I dislike it less.

Glad I've got a backlog so games like this are finished by the time I get to them. Can't imagine how bad it is finishing a game then getting quests added to it when you're already done.
