Without VR, Astro Bot is a pretty good platformer that wouldn't stand out in any discernable way.
there's only one gaming category at the bafta children's award.
Nah, it's VR implementation is what elevates it to GOTY status
It has a more limited audience due to it being a VR game, but it's a game that wouldn't work half as well without how it uses VR tech for gameplay purposes. It finishes what Lucky's Tale started, and then some.
"Playstation VR is not for use by children under the age of 12"
Astro Bot is actually my overall 2018 Game of the Year, so congratu fucking lations!
It would be weird without vr. VR solves the platformer camera problem and the game takes advantage of that.
Why not call it at least "Family Game Award" or something along those lines? "Children" sounds so condescending in this context.
