And then some. 90% of the game you could walk around any fight and it never hinted at much involving character interactions and possible side stories to play out except "oh hey the twins are here again" and thats about all.
By all means lemme know what I missed. It was a complete nothing of a game for me and if it turns out 95% of character stuff is post game stuff and all the real adventures start once she's passed the exam and can finally just be an alchemist then yeah I'd love to see my experience flip on this game.
I'm excited for both, though I'm significantly more eager to play Ryza. I love everything I've seen of the new systems and areas.
On a related note - OT title suggestions? I've not many in mind but I would like to avoid thicc thigh jokes in the title.
"Ryze-a the Alchemist"
it's not even as funny as "Arland Is Your Land"
which of the arland series is generally viewed as the best? kinda wanna get one with them on sale right now but no interest in getting more than one
I'm playing my first Atelier game. rorona. things are going pretty well so far--I'm on the third month
do all characters wind up the same if you build them up, or are there ceilings for earlier characters like Cordelia? Not sure if I should be switching out companions or just sticking to the newest ones on difficult maps
Oh ok, got it, thanks. I worried that because of the different hiring expenses there might be gameplay implications beyond the knight being over leveled when you first get him.
Not sure how far I'll get with everybody's friendships. It's hard to be great at this on first play through
Seems like a fun, charming game. Not sure why I waited so long to try one

Good question, might be worth contacting Koei Tecmo support about it, or on twitter.I have a question about DLC for Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists:
How do i buy the listed DLCs above on Steam?Code:The following bonuses will be downloadable for free until 4/23/2019: - "Town Building 5-Item Set" The following content is included: - Gust 25th Anniversary BGM Pack 1 - Gust 25th Anniversary BGM Pack 2 - Additional Resident "Gust-chan" - Atelier 20th Anniversary Appreciation House - Mysterious Alchemist Statue Some of them will be released at a later date.
I enjoyed Rorona a lot, like loved it, so I picked up Totori (both on PS4)
Really feels like a drag. The interfaces feel inferior, everything wastes a lot of time, every hunting job is for monsters 8 days away. I never found the time limits in Rorona to be oppressive, but its too easy to spend time getting nothing done.
Feels like the friendship triggers require you to come home all the time. I'm really surprised after liking Rorona so much
Are the other Arland games more like this or Rorona? I'll finish this one, but I'm pretty sure I'm not interested in more of this
Totori and Meruru (the arland trilogy) definitely are similar to Rorona but very much improve the overall pacing and feel of the gameplay and triggers. The time limits are nowhere near as strict.
I'm considering importing the Switch collection of the Dusk Trilogy, but I'm a little wary.
Are there any impressions of the Switch verion yet?
Its also concerning that they are cramming three games onto one cart, what size of cart are they using I wonder.
The beginning of each trilogy is the best place to start, so Rorona/Ayesha/Sophie/RyzaI want too try this game serie. Where should i start?
The newest one for PC or another game?
Yeah I've got no experience in 'Asia' versions of Switch games. The Switch version came out yesterday in Asia, and so far I haven't seen anyone mention that they bought it digitally. Apparently all three games are on one cart but the DLC is a separate download (but included in the price, so no extra cost). DLC is redeemed via the US eShop store, which is... weird? Unless Nintendo either doesn't have a regional eShop store for the rest of Asia or decided it would be easier to use the US for everything instead of having separate SKUs for each region (I've never bought an Asia region game so maybe this is standard practice).
I'm also curious, as I've already pre-ordered a copy via VGP. Mainly I want proof that there are definitely English dubs/subs in the Asian version.
My personal recommendation is the Dusk trilogy which is my favorite (so Atelier Ayesha). But Rorona's a solid place to start.I want too try this game serie. Where should i start?

I know the Japanese version doesnt have English text. But general Asia versions are different.

Atelier Sophie is one of the weakest. So I'm like 25 hours into my first Atelier game, and I think I need to take a break from it for awhile. Just struggling to stay interested with the environments and everything feeling so similar everywhere I go. It just is starting to feel like I'm doing the same thing over and over again heh. I've kind of been struggling with the game, which is a shame because I really wanted to like it more.
Atelier Sophie is the game I started btw.
I think it's a great place to start.
I think it's a great place to start.
But it can also get long if you don't really know what to do.
Ah yeah that's fair. To be honest, most Atelier games have that issue (linked to budget sadly).I've been figuring it out and I feel like I've made good progress. It's more every area basically looks the same, there is so little variety in the game to this point. Crafting is starting to get that way too as I'm just making slightly stronger versions of stuff I already have etc. Their is essentially no story to be seen (just a bare bones one really) which I expected, so that wasn't a surprise.
I think I'm just getting bored with it. There isn't enough variety to keep me wanting to play for 30-40 hours at this point. But I'm gonna try and stick it out!
Only thing missing afaik is the battle transition screen due to an issue with the engine used that was never fixed on modern platforms.Does the Atelier Dusk Trilogy add anything over the Vita DX releases of the game?
Alternatively, is there anything missing?

I asked here specifically because the promotional materials say "a large number of DLC" instead of something like "all prior DLC" which seemed odd.
