Levi is street smart, Erwin and Armin are battle plan smart and Hange is a science nut. They all have the needed intelligence in certain scenarios to keep themselves and others alive. Though Hange sort of proved she really shouldn't be on the battlefield though. Her sense of self preservation isn't really too high on the scale.
All 4 are all street smart, Erwin and Armin in particular are just far ahead of Levi. And I'm glad for it because Isayama has yet to make a character that can do everything as good as everyone else.

True enough. Then what kind of smart is Levi? He doesn't strike me as dumb, just not as analytical as Armin or Erwin. I guess he's just combat smart?

Well you're correct in your assessment, he's very street smart. He has a ton of experience and can read situations very well. But the difference is people like Armin/Erwin in particular can do what he does but at a higher degree and be all time level strategists. That's why Levi is kind of perfect as a right hand man. He can lead a squad very well but it's wiser to have a tactician at the top, like Erwin for example.

Yeah Levi isn't exactly great with people like Erwin is. The combination of Levi, Hange and Erwin is pretty OP as long as you don't separate them too much, once you do the combat weakness of the other two kind of puts them in danger. I do hope we get more of genius brain Armin soon because that dude is good. I don't think anybody else would've uncovered Annie as fast as he did or thought up that suicide mission plug the hole with a rock plan. I'm honestly surprised that they listen to him, but his plans get results. Shit if Armin gets to be Erwin's age he's going to be dangerous.

So many translations forgetting that Hange means the military police when she said the army is trying to take away Eren.

The way Reiner admits to being the Armored Titan out in the open after the shit they just went through is crazy. Also I'm starting to think that Bertholdt and Reiner come from a village of titan shifters. The way that he was randomly saved by his friend that got eaten by Ymir is seriously too much of a coincidence. And Annie's from the same village. That seriously just must be a shifter village or it's the remnants of the area Ymir came from or something. THIS SHIT IS FUCKING HYYYYYYYPPPPEEEEE!!!!!

Maybe they're from a village with other shifters/titans but I think shifting powers may still be somewhat rare there. If all of your people can shift, why send KIDS to attack and infiltrate the walls? Plus we have the limitation that you must eat another shifter to control your titan form. That trait has to be rare due to its method of inheritance (unless there are more magic potions that grants that).

I have no clue, but that village had 3 confirmed and a possible fourth shifter when you factor in the guy that Ymir ate, that's already a lot more than a lot of other places have. Not to mention it kind of seems like Bertholdt and Reiner knew the Beast Titan on sight since they seemed extra terrified when they saw it. Even if their village has a 10% population of shifters that's still a good amount of shifters. Their plan might just be to strategically place the younger ones and keep the adults home to guard the village. I have no idea since this is all just speculation.

I feel like they were given their Titan powers just like Eren was. They're Titans forms are specialized so they just be passed down like Eren's.

So i watched the first season wayyyy back then and read a bit of manga. Is S2 (and 3) worth it or full of filler and lacking quality? The (mysterious) atmosphere was always something which kept me going till the long break to S2 came and i didn't keep an eye on this.

No fillers, S3 was even rushed to quickly get past some slow parts. It follows the manga almost 100%, but in both seasons they added a few hints toward later stuff that were not in the manga. If you've already read the manga up to this point, it's still worth it for the big moments (reveals) and action scenes.

Makes me wonder who gave it to them though, I doubt it was their father like Eren. There's probably some sort of family or organization like the Reiss family in that village giving out Titan powers to a select few.

The animation was mindblowing for one episode, but I'm not sure how you rate a series like this.

The reveals were pretty insane and rewatching the series is pretty crazy considering how everything fits.

For me, S3 > S2 > S1.

April 2019 will be the best month of my life (GOT S8 + AOT S3b + Avengers 4). Wow.

Hey guys. How many episodes left this season? I typically let them stack then hop in at the end

Okay, y'all. I just got caught up and holy fuck. I was one of the few (it seemed?) who wasn't a huge fan of the second season but "3.0" was absolutely phenomenal. This show is so good.

Game of Thrones' final season and Attack on Titan 3.5. April is gonna be a dream for me.

Sorry for the double-post, but I read the last few pages of this thread just now and it seems folks are confident the show won't be back for season 4 until 2021 or later? D: Why's that?

Coming April 2019

Edit: if you want to go into it blind, I suggest avoid watching this.

Be warned that new trailer contains spoilers from the manga, so refrain it as best as possible. Regardless, I can't freaking wait for April, though!

I couldn't help but keep going a bit in the manga after part 1 ended. Part 2 is probably going to be the peak of AoT so far! Give it to meeeeee

HYPE!!!
Love the blue lighting, always imagined this part of the arc in orange on the manga for some reason.

EDIT: It seems that this was leaked and it was supposed to be revealed tomorrow in an event. Its being taken down on YT.

Any insight as to when Season 3 (Part 1) will see a US Blu-ray release?
Probably not until right before the simulcast. Or they might be on that bull shit and make us wait for the complete third season.

I'm just wondering if we will ever go back to 25 episodes a year cuz if not it's going to take atleast 6 more seasons to finish this show and a 9 season anime sounds ridiculous.

6 more seasons? The anime will likely catch up to Chapter 90 of the manga with Season 3-2, and right now we are at Chapter 114 and it's supposedly the final arc. I give it 25-36 more episodes tops.
