According to that article, it was only 3 weeks ago he was celebrating 25 years for calling baseball:

I'm not an Auburn fan but I definitely knew him from the kick six call. One of the best commentator moments in all of sports.

Incredibly sad and heartbreaking. All because a 16 year old ran into them from behind b/c he was likely paying attention to something else other than the road. Two kids lost their parents because of this.
