hello! This month, we're celebrating some classic violence. We'll start with the blood and guts promotion (see title), All Elite Wrestling, hot off the announcement of their weekly television series, which premieres on October 2nd. But before that, we've got All Out. It's the one year anniversary of the proto-AEW show, All In, and it'll stream on B/R Live on August 31, 5 PM PST.

EAJWOYuXkAEtxG8

Other matches so far include:

- The Young Bucks vs. The Lucha Bros. (c) for the AAA Tag Team Championship
- The Dark Order vs. The Best Friends
- Darby Allin vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. Joey Janela
- Cody vs. Shawn Spears (w/ Tully Blanchard)

If you're more into the independent wrestling brand of violence, Game Changer Wrestling has Joey Janela's Escape From LA on August 9, which'll stream on Fite.TV at 8 PM.

although being a Joey Janela produced event, this will not have many deathmatches compared to the usual GCW shows (think more like Spring Break, Escape from NY, LA Confidential, etc). The card so far:

- Nick Gage (c) vs. Jimmy Havoc; for the GCW World Championship (this actually will almost certainly be a deathmatch)
- Tony Deppen vs. Masato Tanaka
- Kris Statlander vs. Chris Dickinson
- Jungle Boy vs. "The Different Boy" Jimmy Lloyd
- Blake Christian vs. Alex Zayne
also announced: Joey Janela, Mance Warner, Dustin Thomas ("No Legs"), Nate Webb, and LAX.

But deathmatch fans can really get their fix from this company when they run their shows in Japan on August 22 & 23. No info yet on how to watch!

Speaking of Japan, New Japan Pro Wrestling is still halfway through their big G1 Climax tournament. More details can be found in the official thread here, but the finals will be held on August 12, streaming on NJPWorld (11 PM PST on August 11). The card so far:

- A Block Winner vs. B Block Winner

We still have about 7 more shows to go so I think we'll find out more details once we get closer to the date

We also have the return of the Super J Cup, a junior heavyweight tournament created by Jushin Liger to showcase lil dudes all over the world. With Liger in his last year of his career, he's bringing it back; this time, in the US! There's no streaming info right now, but the shows will be on 8/22 (Tacoma, WA), 8/24 (San Francisco, CA) and the finals on the 8/25 (Long Beach, CA). There are 6 entrants confirmed so far: TJ Perkins, Dragon Lee, Sho, Caristico, Ryusuke Taguchi, and Taiji Ishimori.

But if you're not looking for something so clean and polished, MLW has a weekly show on Youtube. It's the lo-fi shit. It's for the renegades.

Of course, if you prefer a "more sophisticated product" (Vince McMahon, 2019) WWE has Summerslam on August 11, and NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff on August 31. Summerslam is headlined by Brock Lesnar vs "The Beast Slayer" Seth "The Man's Man" Rollins. There will be a thread for that closer to the event; this is the card so far for NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff

- Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) (c) vs. Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster vs. Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang)
- Toni Storm (c) vs. Kay Lee Ray
- Walter (c) vs. Tyler Bate

Somewhere in between "sophisticated" and "low fi renegade shit" is AAA, one of the two major Mexican wrestling promotions - their big show, Triplemania, will be streaming on Twitch this weekend!

Whew, okay. Apologies if I'm leaving out some big events, but there's a lot happening this month! And we barely touched on any actual ultraviolence!

they are continuing their weekly Hidden Gem additions to the Network, so all the worry or speculation that they were removing them or locking them behind a tier seems unfounded

really just seems like they had some bugs in the transition and need to add some of the old ones back

Dave says Dolph's Summerslam opponent is, in fact, Goldberg

He also says that another match will be added, Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns

- Drew Gulak vs. Oney Lorcan for the Cruiserweight Title

What? Wasn't Roman just feuding with Joe?

Idk. That's what he said. He said he had it confirmed to him today.

Dave also said the plan when Smackdown moves to FOX is to go back to a harder brand split.

lmao Dave says that Smackdown was re-written so late that they were literally still writing the second hour while the first hour was on the air

This show is going to have way more matches than wrestlemania.

I just got to the point of WOR where Dave says it's Goldberg

I screamed yes!

Never seen Goldberg live so I'm fucking psyched

And Roman vs Bryan is fucking sick.

So if Dave's matches are all that is left to be added, these are the 14(!) Summerslam matches:

- Seth vs. Brock for the Universal Title
- Kofi vs. Orton for the WWE Title
- Finn vs. Bray
- Reigns vs. Bryan
- Goldberg vs. Ziggler
- Cedric vs. McIntyre
- Kabuki Warriors vs. Mandy and Sonya vs. Bliss and Cross vs. Iconics for the Women's Tag Titles
- Black vs. Zayn
- Shane vs. Owens
- Gulak vs. Lorcan for the Cruiserweight Title
- AJ vs. Ricochet for the US Title
- Trish vs. Charlotte
- Becky vs. Natalya for the Raw Women's Title
- Bayley vs. Ember for the Smackdown Women's Title

Idk, card looks pretty alright. Nothing that really jumps out as bad. Goldberg/Ziggler will probably be short. Women's Tag could fall apart if they don't lay it out right. Everything else seems solid.

Damn it. I might have to watch a WWE show. This looks pretty good. Wonder if the Cruiserweights get thrown to the pre-show. We don't need a 5-hour Summerslam.

Meltzer on the Ziggler/Goldberg thing
The funny part of this story is the only reason I know about it is because somehow an Internet troll trying to make me look bad reported that I reported Ziggler vs. Goldberg, which I didn't do. When I noted I never reported it, the info was given to me that Goldberg, was, in fact, the secret opponent of Ziggler that was being kept quiet to the point that even the official internal lineup sheet lists Ziggler vs. Miz. Ziggler vs. Miz was announced on Smackdown. But that match was never scheduled as it was to be Goldberg all along.

Dave confirms Fantasma will finally start with WWE in September

Jorge Alcantar, 35, better known as El Hijo del Fantasma as well as King Cuerno from Lucha Underground, is expected to start with WWE in the September camp. There have been rumblings of a number of major names starting then. WWE has been wanting him since the first season of Lucha Underground aired, as he was a good worker and speaks perfect English. But his Lucha Underground contract kept it from happening for years.

Observer says CMLL wants to work more with ROH

A number of ROH stars are headed here between now and the end of the year based on the strengthening of the business relationship and more CMLL guys going to ROH. This is part of the changes Sofia Alonso put into place as one of her first moves was to contact ROH and wanting to expand their working agreement. She will be meeting with officials from ROH in late August about more working together.

Kevin Kelly: "Hey! Hey! You're a piece of garbage, okay? What the hell?!" (to Gedo grabbing Taichi's female escort outside the right)

LOL. Funny delivery.
