The Xiaomi powerbanks go cheap pretty often, I'll keep an eye outif anyone scoops some hot deals on a portable battery with USB-C charging let me know, my fucking water bottle leaked
The ones you need to camp out for days in advance.
You should be able to get decent spots if you go early in the morning and lay down a picnic blanket for your group. These websites say spots "open up" sometime in the morning - are you saying if I get there at that point they're already full?
I have a few smart plugs plus a Broadlink IR blaster to smarten up my mostly dumb home theatre. All of it goes through Homebridge, which makes it work with HomeKit and Siri. So now I can tell Siri to watch Netflix and it'll change the input to the AV receiver, switch that to the Telstra TV and start Netflix on it.Anyone on the home automation train? Got a few smart switches for my birthday which are actually pretty cool, I initially thought it was going to be not great but I've setup a lighting schedule for my fishtanks, tracking power usage on my home theatre setup and gaming pc with the same set.
I'm thinking about getting a few dimmable smart bulbs so I can mimic sunset a few hours after the fact. Issue is that they're bloody expensive. The philip's hue and lifx range are at least $50 for a single bulb. There do seem some cheaper but dubious alternatives at least..
Probably going to be something I do over the break, I've got a Pi that'll set up with home assistant and a few other pi zero's that'll set up with thermostats so that I can better control the a/c around the joint.
Its pretty simpleHey everyone!
So early next year I will officially be a permanent resident! (hopefully assuming nothing gets stuffed with my visa).
I intend to eventually apply for citizenship afterwards! I admit I've been a bit lax on my research on political parties in Australia and was wondering if there are any specific resources that would help clear thins up for me?
Currently at the Gold Coast! Its pretty simple
LibsNats, also known as the Coalition, are cunts, never vote for them
Labor is the big centre-left party and are better than libs but very spineless and have some pretty disgusting stances e.g. refugees
Greens are the left-wing party, a bit cooked in some ways but I reckon there the best overall. Also unlike other countries we have preferential voting so you can vote for smaller parties and If they fail preferences flow to the bigger parties, avoiding the Jill Stein issue where 3rd party was a vote for Trump in a way
I don't know any specific resources but thats the basics
Anyway, welcome mate, which city you headed too?
That's interesting, what sector do you work in?
Currently working the legal sector, but might be changing in the future.
Also, no matter the election, you're always voting for your local member of parliament, never directly for the state premier or prime minister (unless you happen to live in their electorate). Think of them as the equivalent to US house seats, where people in a distinct region (~100k people) vote for who will represent them in the main legislative body. Its pretty simple

So hyped.
The power of brand name recognition. Demolition man has a lot to answer for.I just had a go of a local Taco Bell with its meager offering of some wraps and burritos. Sadness pancake is how I would describe my burrito. The combo is cheaper than just a buritto from Guzman or Salsa's but oof. Are the legends true? Is TB really this awful all the time? Aussies better not make this a success here, you have options!
Yeah mate, just talk to Vinnie in the car park of KFC Dickson. Look for the black WRX.I am not sure of I can ask this ,but is there access to cannabis with high CBD and low THC in Canberra ?
Big if true will be looking for it in 2 weeks when I get there thanks man.Yeah mate, just talk to Vinnie in the car park of KFC Dickson. Look for the black WRX.
