Where would you buy a 20b anyway? Ebay and Amazon got nothin'. No 13b REWs either

20B reuses a lot of 13B stuff but i believe the center irons are different? I know rx7club has a specific section for 20B parts and there's usually 1-2 short blocks available at any given time, you can also find them on ebay or if you have a local rotary specialist they can probably find one for you but they aren't gonna be cheap.

Mazda still sells brand new 13Bs - any dealer or good mechanic would be able to have one delivered, I know a couple of the big rotary shops generally have a couple on hand as well.

I forgot all about this thread...I'm a monster...

Thinking really hard about a used Giulia, but afraid to bite the bullet because Alfa Romeo. Reliability seems to be...okay-ish so far though?

I was looking at the Giulia and almost pulled the trigger but ended up going Korean. AR dealerships want ridiculous prices for work, parts are going to be almost exclusively imported and/or only available through the dealership, nobody is going to be making aftermarket parts for it in the US.

If fuel economy is important, a Giulia is going to be able to get into the 30s. A 3.3T G70 or Stinger is way faster for similar money and it was either a slower car or swallowing my pride. Looking at the Europeans car makers, the ~$40K car market is entirely disappointing right now. Apparently they've stalled out on performance and no Euro car company makes a 4 door for <$40K that can go 0-60 in under 5 seconds.

The fake side scoops next to the headlights still bug me. They'd be cool if they were functional

I think I dislike the fake scoops next to the doors most.

The fake scoops next to the headlights are definitely worse than the fake vents above the front wheels, though.

God, what a mess of a thing.

I would love to see the underbody to see the suspension geometry that they used to keep the torque steer under control at 800hp. My old 2ZZ Corolla Sportivo (Matrix XRS to you yanks) would torque steer like a pig when you got back on the throttle after shifting.

Think I'm gonna focus on weight and suspension over power. I wish carbon fiber panels weren't so bloody expensive

Any Era member have a turbo setup that passes emissions? I bought an RX8 a couple months ago and have been planning out a build for it, then I remembered emissions tests are a thing.

I probably wouldn't add a turbo tbh. It's a major mod, not cheap or easy. Focus on handling mods, that's where the car shines, best-handling car that I've ever driven. Low torque but it revs like crazy and it's super-fun to drive.

I've been thinking about grabbing one for a long time to be honest.

That's pretty much based off of the taycan, right? I wonder if it will be a good amount cheaper than that car.
Supposedly the Taycan will slot under the Panamera (though Im not sure I believe that anymore), I dont see too much wiggle room for the Audi GT to be priced under that. Expecting slightly above A7 prices at a minimum

I thought I'd introduce my new car, since I've fully detailed it. (My old magazine featured car is in storage).

That honda EV concept finally got a prototype variant, after all the safety regulation redesigns I still am absolutely in love with the design. Only thing I would change is making the black piece on the hood the same shade of white. But man It looks really neat.

I also love this interior

Oh my god I love this. Is actually something that might feasibly come out? I will probably be there day one.

Yes Honda says that prototype is very close to what they want the production model to be like, so i am guessing it's gonna be 90% similar to that. It's also supposed to release by 2020. Unfortunately it's JP and EU only :(

The price they've talked about is around 30k and the range is about 125 miles, clearly a car designed for people who just drive around in the city and then come home to recharge.

In a way, that EV concept reminds me of the Honda N-One. Not sure how, but that's what my mind thinks of.

Goddamnit of course it's not for America.
My Acura RSX is slowly wearing away, I've been looking for a new car just to get to work and back and fit in LA's teeny parking spots. I want this to be it :(

Going in the morning to check out what looks like a pretty mint 03 Civic Si. Everyone seems to hate on the 7th gen and the Euro styling but I've always wanted one since I was a teenager. Wife's car got destroyed by a school bus so I'm giving her our 2016 Mazda 6 and the Si will be my new toy.

Ohhhhhh an EP3 Si. You got tons of aftermarket and engine swaps to play with (K series). Here's an EP3 goal for you (if you have one)

I have one. Wonderful cars. I know RCR shits on the term but there is so much potential in them. 4x100 wheel pattern kinda sucks for wider wheels that fit the EP3, I would personally look for a 04-05 with the five lug. And check the left side of the valve cover for oil leaks, a pretty common place for leaks on K series motors.

Unfortunately it wasn't very mint at all :(

Body was in decent shape, interior all there and pretty clean but there were warning signs from the jump. Guy kept saying it was an 02 (it's an 03), he had already warmed up the engine before I arrived which is super shady. Motor appeared ok from the a visual standpoint but the oil level was at the very bottom of the dipstick and the oil pan undercarriage was very gunked up with sludge.

No cell codes which was a shocker but it has what sounded like a bad case of piston slap that you could hear from the driver seat while test driving. (Wasn't the usual tick from the injectors). It doesn't look like it was beat on just really neglected which was a real bummer because it's hard to find them without a ton of ridiculous mods. Oh well the search will continue...

That sucks, if you were just looking for a straightforward example to drive as-is that doesn't sound like it. If they were willing to give a huge discount on the car for the purposes to engine swap it maybe - an 02-04 RSX Type-S motor can literally swap in with nothing more than the engine, trans and ECU - but depends what you're looking for out of this car.

This eBay coupon is killing me, I keep looking at wheels lmao.

Aw that's a shame dude. I love the Si line, I finally went back to it earlier this year with a 2018 Si.
I have always wanted an EM1 just as a project car where I can whatever weird crazy stuff I want to it and feel relatively guilt free. But the price on them has gotten ridiculously high.
Not to mention the EM1 Civic Si is also rare as hell. I saw one at last year's Honda meet. Of course it was modded, it was kept somewhat clean. There was an immaculate factory one as well, but had a stupid decal on the rear bumper.

That's the other bad part this guy wanted top dollar $4300 for it and was trying to brush off the obvious problems I was pointing out. But yea don't have time or money to be messing with a swap or a major project. I understand I'm buying an old car so I'm willing to fix it up a bit or perform some maintenance but not if the motor sounds like it's about to go.

Have another one lined to check out so we shall see. But it's even farther away than this last one so my wife is going to kill me dragging her around looking at (what she calls) "junky toy cars" lol. She wants me to buy a boring automatic family car >:(

There is actually an EM1 Si for sale near me for $3800 but it looks all ratted out and has 200k miles. I would be happy with any of the old hatches but again they are probably all wrecked or look like F&F rejects

I use my (fortunately stock) EM1 as my daily and my EP3 for the project/summer car and I honestly wonder if that should be switched. Part of staying the course is I already began amassing a decent amount of parts for the EP3. On the flip side, I drive in southern Ontario where we use tons of salt in the winter...

Good luck on the search SonicDaHedgehog, I'm sure one will turn up soon :)

Easy fix for salt is to get a car wash every week. Even just the cheapo ones will do as long as they spray the underside

Lol that's the curse of buying older civics ESPECIALLY hatches, they're either on their last legs, clapped out to hell and back or if they are stock look like they've been through the shredder.

Also I realize i said I got my 2018 Si earlier this year, but I actually bought it in October / November. Time feels weird.

I'm hoping this will be enough, I love the car and want to keep it going as long as possible. Not the fastest car in the world, but that motor just goads you to put the foot down.

Probably an underbody array of inline ground effect VTEC boosters. I suspect that's what Carol Danvers boss was working on too before the Accusers showed up.

Gonna pick up a race header for the EP3 on the weekend 😊 Finally found the one I wanted - even though we won't have emissions checks anymore, I still wanted one with a catalytic converter.

Why no more emissions checks?

Ontario is run by Trump-lite. The premier is waging a war against environmental protections programs and initiatives. His government has stripped away incentives for EVs, tried to remove protections on green space around southern Ontario for developing property, removed our cap-and-trade carbon tax, and as of April, will remove emissions checks for passenger vehicles. Their reasoning is the vast majority of vehicles pass emissions now, which is true, but I think the idea of checking is still a good thing - it's just that it's one more responsibility people don't want. I think the procedure needed to be adjusted further to make it faster, or give larger incentives to drivers (i.e.: making yearly registration cheaper if your emissions are checked, access to HOV lanes, etc), similar to other environmental incentives.

Cross post from the daily driver thread:

DznNmRC.jpg

My daily is a Panamera S Hybrid. Blacked out with gunmetal wheels. Love the car, dynamics, speed, etc. However, it's in the shop basically every three months and is completely unreliable. It left me stranded on the side of the road in Houston a month ago. I plan on getting out of it by the end of the year.

I did Swap A Lease and took over the final months for the above two but no longer have either. One is a 981 Boxster, the other a 718 Cayman. Wanted to see the difference between the two powertrains. Surprise, the 718's powertrain was significantly better. Should have gotten a 981 Boxster S though as that is a closer comparison.

Prior to my current daily I had a C300, now the wife's, and a Dodge Magnum SRT8, which was probably my most favorite car in the world.

Magnums look great, my favourite of the LX cars. Just a proper wagon. They hold their value surprisingly well. RTs are almost 10k for like 100k miles examples in my area!
