Finally got around to doing this intake install on my Si
bYrMbY9.jpg

It was actually super easy, unfortunately the bushing that's supposed to hold up on the front bracket on the airbox snapped a bit of it off while i was installing it so it's just sagging there and is pretty much being held up just by the bracket on the right side while the left side is being propped up by the aluminium pipe holding in the MAF sensor, calling mishimoto on monday to test that life time warranty and see if i can get a replacement part lol.

Impressions overall are really great though, the sound is really nice, and over all feels like the turbo is more responsive. Really diggin this intake kit.

Went to home depot and bought a new bushing for like 5 bucks and just remounted it myself, it took like 30min but man it looks so much better now woo!

Man, dealing with Craigslist sucks.

Text 1: offers 68% of what I'm asking
Text 2: spam/scam
First visitor: sketchy, brother of person shows up (unexpected), out of state license, seems jittery

If any of y'all want a good deal on a '91 CRX in the bay area hit me up. Craigslist ~_~.

The pain of using craigslist is real. I've only sold a few things there, but each time it sucked.

Also I'd like a 91 crx, but I'm not in California and I also have no money.

Yeah my '14 WRX is still on CL and last month only interest I've had is a swap for a dune buggy. Going to have to come up with some alternative methods.

Wow, somehow managed to find someone who wasn't a total jerkface on craigslist. Car is sold, yay!

Next up, I'm 99% sure I want a Miata. Not sure what gen yet tho. :O

Though my brothers-in-law I'm pretty sure are gonna try to get me into a 90s/early 2000s BMW. Could be interesting.

I've always liked miata's. I drove a NB a while ago and I thought it was a great car. Though at the moment I already have too many cars, and most of them don't even work. I just wish it wasn't so hot so I could work on them. I don't think the outside temperature is going to drop below 80°F at any point for another month or so.

I have an SR20DET I need to assemble and put in my 240sx. Though I've also thought about putting it in my maxima, and putting the original SR20DE back in the 240. Other than the transmission mount, I think the SR20 will literally just bolt in to the maxima.

Or, I could put the SR20DE in my 77 corolla, but that might be too much work considering just how much larger the SR20 and transmission are vs the Toyota's 3TC and its transmission.

I took the SR20DE out of my 240sx to sell, but every buyer flaked out on me, so its just sitting in my garage at the moment taking up space.

Hey guys, so I just bought my first new car. A 2019 Honda Civic.

I'm pretty new in term of car maintaining. What are something you guys would recommend to help preserve your car exterior and interior in the hot Florida weather?

I did some research on exterior wax and sealant if anyone have any recommendations or some other form of protection against sun damage and scratches.

Use a sunshade. Keeps your car cooler when sitting in the sun, and also helps keep some of the sun off the interior.

As someone who lives in Arizona and only buys older used cars. Only one of the ten cars I've owned has had an uncracked dash. The sun destroys interiors.

I'm just here to say that the new C8 corvette looks horrible.

Like somebody gave an 8 year old kid a drawing of a Ferrari F430, a ruler and a crayon and told him to enhance it-ugly.
I love aggressive lines but this is overkill.

This is the best description of the C8's styling I've seen yet. Especially when it comes to the headlights. Front to back it has zero sense of harmony in its design.

Finally managed to sell the WRX. Met a "kid" (aka, 27, but "kid" to me) via CL ad and he didn't turn out to be a murderer. Biggest purchase of his life apparently, was super nervous at the bank getting his loan sorted. Threw in a few free games for him, glad to get the space back in my garage and basement (where I kept all my spare tires). Now to start saving up to trade the IS 350 in for an AWD 911...

I can't tell if what I am thinking about is stupid or not..

I have a Mazda CX3. It's a nice car and I've had it for two years. I currently owe $7K on it but it's worth about $13K.

Unfortunately, it's too small for me, I've realized. I am 6'3 and it is really tight on my legs. I've been going to the gym more so I feel like I am constantly growing. When I first got the car, it wasn't an issue but more and more, I find myself slamming my legs against the siding.

Now, it's not unbearable, it's just a bit tight. I could endure but I am thinking of selling the car to a dealership and trying out a Toyota Tacoma or a Chevy Colorado, if I like them.

I don't want to actively car shop because that process sucks but it's been something I've thought about lately.

Has anyone had experience with selling a car back that you owe money on but you have positive equity with?

It feels like a process, so much so that I want to avoid it but I feel like I will keep getting annoyed with not being able to open my legs up while driving.

PPF installed on everything from mirrors forward + rocker panels. Took about 5 days or so for the specialist to do it. I'm impressed that he went in all the grooves and inlets. Didn't leave a single surface untouched aside from the panamericana grill

Hi everyone, would appreciate some input in this as i'm not too familiar with this but as someone who's looking to buy a 2017 Camry Altise I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the sat nav system is like and how reliable it is especially for busy city driving (Sydney Australia for example). I was initially thinking of going an aftermarket installation but if it's good enough to get the job done then I'd rather not spend that money. My phone would likely be a better option but i wanted to know what exactly i'm working with systems wise for something like the Camry Altise.

I have no experience with it, so can't speak to it in particular. One thing to keep in mind is that built in navigation systems across all makes (generally) don't get free map updates. Map updates are typically released once per year and cost around $150. Unfortunately, Toyota hadn't supported CarPlay or Android Auto at that point.

Ahh alright and i'm guessing being able to cast from my phone to it wouldn't be possible then without Android Auto? I've never had a car with Android auto (Or an onboard nav system to be honest) so i'm not sure what kind of functionality i should expect. Which is also why i was looking at the Kenwood DNX5180S (Or any other recommended systems) as an aftermarket installation if what's present didn't quite live upto what i'm hoping for.

Thanks! The color really pops in the sunlight. It has Pilot Sport Cup 2s. Super sports or PS4s next time around - which may be sooner than expected haha

Edit: actually I just checked, it has PSSs - which makes sense cause I didn't realize the Cup 2s were still made. I could have sworn that I saw Cup 2 on the sidewall. I guess I'm seeing things lol

Ooooof, I demand an exhaust sound video. One of my favorites of all time, especially for a GT-style car. Real beauty, wow.

There's a lot of sports cars that look like they'll age quickly, I.e. most BMW's. They'll look aesthetically outdated in a few years, the same can be said about a lot of MB's. Yours is one of the exceptions in my opinion - that design is going to age super well

It's my fathers weekend toy, but he has been DDing it a bit while the weather is nice.
The annoying thing is that the car brings a lot of unwanted attention - last week some guy followed my dad to work lol. The other day some guy in a Tesla Model 3 pulled up and floored it - I legitimately thought the guy was gonna wreck as there was so much tire squeal. I thought the guy completely lost traction lol.

Yeah it really kinda has that timeless look to it. We parked next to an SLS at a cars and coffee and the side profiles were so similar, so I could see this car retain its timelessness. Its def a keeper

The exhaust note is something that surprised me. In all the reviews I watched, everyone commented that the exhaust was good and had some crackles and pop with the deep "AMG" sound. But what they never said was how much it pops when you go past 4.5k rpm. It just gets louder and louder and there are a series of 4-8 pops and bangs lol. Im not really a pop/bang exhaust type of guy, but the way how this car pulls it off is just amazing.

Contemplating converting my miata to a perma coupe at some point. Roof rails, bolts, roll cage, a welded frame - is it feasible?

My elantras tranny is about to blow. Started slipping Monday morning by Thursday morning it wouldn't shift out of first but I was able to limp into work. The tranny is leaking fluid not bothering with the repair. Got financing for another car via my credit union so I am looking at 2011 Accord EX-L. Wife and I got raises this year and she tempted me by saying I could get an A4. Took all my restraint to say no and be frugal since we're saving for a house. Anyone here ever owned an Accord? How did they treat you?

I mean, just taking it in when you noticed it slipping would have saved you the most money, as it could have just been low on fluid. Seems like a waste. It would also be worth more money selling the car.

It was time to move on I had been in an accident with it a few years ago paid about what the car was worth to get it fixed. Needless to say it was a pretty unsafe car after that. Now I am the one dropping off and picking up my kid from school so I'd rather have peace of mind knowing I have a much safer car.

If you actually fixed the car it wouldn't have been any less safe than before the accident unless it wasn't fully repaired or repaired improperly. It might be less safe than your new car because I'm assuming the Honda is newer, and its also not an old Korean car. Still though, driving until you ruined the transmission is literally throwing money away in resale value when something as simple as adding fluid would have prevented it. To me it is overall a poor financial decision, and just poor judgement in general.

I know you just wanted to ask about Accords, and my post might come across as harsh, so I'll just add that Accords are good cars and you really can't go wrong with one.

Gorgeous car, but get rid of the PSS as soon as possible. They get overwhelmed easily by all of the AMG torque. My C63S could lose traction so easily when stock. With just an extra 5psi of boost it can set off the traction control in 3rd gear at 70mph. The PS4S is a much better tire. Cups are fun but they spray your fenders with rocks because of how sticky they can get and they don't perform well in the rain or cold weather.

I have noticed some traction loss actually lol. I thought it was in my head at first, but there definitely is some very tail spin even under legal speeds haha. After some reports on mbworld, I think others have said exactly what you have. PS4s def are #1 on the list.

You have the coupe or the 4 door? How do you like it?

The car had front end frame damage that pulled back into place. If you trust a car to protect you in collision after that, that's cool, I don't. Being poor sucks and sometimes we have to do what we have do and I did at the time. Not all of us have six figure incomes or mommy and daddy to help us. The fact that I am in a much better finanical position now why should I settle for an aging car where I don't feel safe having my family in? It was an 05 with 130k miles, honestly you aren't going to get much for it never mind the condition it was in after the wreck. Anyway picked up the Accrod today jumping from a 4 banger to six cylinder has been extremely nice. The Accord is in excellent condition, leather interior and alloy wheels. The upgrade in cabin space is phenomenal. Only gripe I have is the backseat isn't a 60/40 split but that's minor.

Coupe. I've had it for a couple of years and I like the power and love the noise it makes but I want to start doing more track days plus I want a manual transmission so I'm looking to replace it with an M4.

Nice, thats pretty cool. Do you have a different tire setup for track days?

Thats the sad thing with MB, they dropped manuals and never looked back. I know some base models in Europe have manuals, but none of the AMGs got it. There is something gratifying about popping the clutch and working through the gears manually. Paddle shifters are cool, but they really are meaningless to me

Are there any future cars that you're hyped for? For me it's Porsche's first electric track car, like a GT3 RS equivalent. You could make it a center seat, sparse but high tech interior, probably lots of carbon fiber to reduce weight.

Makes the 5k mark up here sound like a steal. Lol. MSRP is a good deal for the car even at 5k over it's not too bad. The VW dealership down the road has a 7k markup on the Golf R due to spectrum paint job. Lol.

You guys tell me why should I NOT buy a Tesla Model 3?
No real reason not to if you're going for the top of the line model. I think the interior is basura compared to other vehicles at the price point (and even some below it) but it's a great car. Sure some ICE cars are more engaging and exciting but if you're looking for a daily driver that's well rounded, can't go wrong with it.
