That seems pretty obvious to me. Avenatti has Trump in his crosshairs, if he can't get him before the next election, seems natural that he'd pull out the stops and try to gun for him in said election.

I'd prefer a solid dem with years of experience though.

Yeah, he definitely is running. It'll be an upgrade from our current situation but iirc Avenatti isn't really free of skeletons in his closet and god forbid if he beats out a more qualified and progressive Democratic candidate.

Believe it or not, this is in service of his client. Making sure that the Stormy Daniels thing is bad press and remains bad press strengthens her bargaining position and the value of her story/brand in media. Saying this is a way to generate press to these ends and nothing more.

He's leaving the door open for a simple out there. There are going to be plenty of Dem candidates who fit that bill. The worry would be if the field seemed to be dominated by old moderates (say Biden, Bullock, Cuomo, McAuliffe), but you've got real savvy operators in the mix like Harris and Gillibrand. Someone who won't be afraid to call Trump out on his bullshit.

I think mostly he's just self-promoting here, with a bit of signalling to the Dems on what they should be doing for 2020, which I ultimately agree with. We need someone who is unafraid of fighting dirty and just completely blasting Trump's racist ass at every opportunity.

I would vote for him because I know he would make it his mission to hunt down and bring justice to all those that put Trump in his position illegal.

I can’t say the same for other democrats. Even fucking Obama let the Bush admin with all their war crimes off free. Civility is more important to these people than justice.

I hate when people just assume Trump will win bc they are defeated already and live in the sunken place but having 10+ candidates plus the purity tests liberals love to give...and idk.
