Well, I bought a Google Play gift card with just enough money on it to get the second-largest gem pack (because I have a discount on purchases above $30) and... it was not enough. Because Azur Lane collects taxes. This is the first time anything on Google Play has ever tried to collect taxes from me. So if I want to still buy the skins (and I don't want to waste the money I already put on) and I don't want to give Google my credit card information (I really don't), then I have to see about finding a $10 gift card tomorrow.

Fusou and her sister get shit on for their retrofits but I'm absolutely loving Fusou even more after her retrofit.

Got gref zeppelin and Admiral Hipper after 30 builds. Not too shabby. I had over a hundred cubes unspent and I got 37 left. Still need Z46 but I don't really care if I don't have her.

40 builds (80 cubes), 2x Graf Zeppelin and one Elite. I'm still going to try a bit for Z46 but nothing extreme, maybe just daily pulls. She's cute, but I mostly just want Graf Zeppelin so everything else is just a bonus. I'm tempted to buy her L2D skin now. :/

BTW, what do you guys do with all of you purple gear? I'm nearing 300/300 and it's getting difficult knowing what to sell and what to keep, even with a tier list. The fact that there's so many differing rarities, as well as not knowing what's currently equipped to your characters makes the whole thing a headache.

Made 10 builds. Got three of the new purples and Z46. I tend to not use Ironblood ships, so I'm just building for collection purposes.

I am also running into the problem of what to do with purple gear. I could just equip some on ships I don't use and make space that way, but that would force me to remember what I had on who, and that's more trouble than I care to go through.

I think I did 50 pulls, maybe 40. Got all the new ships. Bought the Xmas special pack and got Eldridge Xmas skin from the box.

Then went and bought Enterprise Xmas skin, and Zeppelin and Tirpitz L2D skins. Finally new L2D skins that are not lolis.

Z46 has a different skill than the wiki?

I was really interested in live2d soon, but summer is probably the worst theme since most of them is just low effort "expose more skin". Halloween is probably my favorite theme but no live 2d there.

Tirpitz is pretty good if you're not running any other BB in the main fleet, arguably the best shelling in the game, CL secondaries, heavy armor, monstrous HPs and nice torp ability.
Apart from that Z46 is pretty decent but since there are a ton of good destroyers she's not really that relevant.

I am thinking none of them are "meta defining" but they aren't bad

Graf Zeppelin, Z25 and Z46 is useful in a KMS only fleet
Tirpitz seems pretty good as a solo backliner
Gneisenau is a so so BC that can fit hard map requirement.

I play this game for collection purpose anyways so all are must get.

I've got everyone except for Hipper, 46 so far with 40~50 pulls. Since they added Wales and Atago to heavy I'll be splitting my efforts trying to get them since I missed the first go around. Might actually buy my first skin if they give me someone to use it with, about 2.3k gems to burn.

Starting to hit my limit for dock size but really refusing to spend hardly any gems. Seemed generous at first but once I realized the method I was getting most of my gems was finite I started getting super stingy with them.

Also nice the event was generous with gold destroyer plans, was able to finish my Ayanami retrofit.

Got Graf Zeppelin finally. I think about 80 cubes spent total which is acceptable. Still missing Z35 though so I guess I will farm B4 more. Will probably start leveling a fleet of Tirpitz - Z46 Deutschland Z25.

The light pool is getting larger and larger so my daily build will always go there. Still miss so many ships from there.

Edit: Anyone farming world 8 and 9 for missing ships? The map is so difficult that I don't really want to throw my lv100 ships there and lose exp. The auditorium needs to come sooner!

You can probably farm most of those with <100 level ships with an oil penalty (while you may be able to solo auto with Phoenix/Minneapolis at lvl 100 you probably will need an additional ship if you have lower level and lower tier ship composition).
9-3 and 9-4 are pretty tough, and it's not worth using something like 3:3 just to avoid "losing exp".

Live2D fixes, probably some bug in the engine that prevented the skins from working as intended.

It's weird that people immediately jumped to censorship (on reddit/twitter) with the l2d skins considering what we've been playing up til now, lol

Got the skin for Deutschland from the shop, still haven't had her drop yet ;_;

Did some math to help plan my Pt grinding
24 oil per run fleet (enty + bel)

A map w/ 3x bonus = 540 Pt, 544 oil
B map w/ 3x bonus = 1020 Pt, 592 oil

About 25 rolls so far, 3 hippers and graf.

You can go way cheaper, for maps Erebus/Terror and a cheap destroyer should be more than enough, for the harder B maps you may need something more, but Ranger + a good destroyer/CL would be a better choice for mobs, and you can leave enty + bel for the boss.

Thanks, I'm pretty new to min maxing to save oil and things like fletcher fleets. Got through most of my way to level 70 just packing my fleets full with SRs lol

Cleared D4 this time. Got everyone except Hipper and Deutschland. Blew half of my gems on Beachside Urd, no regrets. A Hipper would be nice tho.

Fubuki has, imho, a much better character design and can only be constructed in the light pool (you can build Edinburgh everywhere).
On the other hand Edinburgh has a decent spot in a HMS fleet while Fubuki is not really outstanding in any way considering we already have a lot of good torp focused DD.

Anyway, I've been busy farming 10-4 (still no Jintsuu in sight), some quick considerations:
  • Fortune is amazing, 15% damage reduction to the main fleet (retrofit skill) is golden when Nagato+Mutsu can halve the health of a BB.
  • Akashi/Vestal are a godsend if you plan on doing a part of the battles in auto, switching between two tanky BB may possibly work but it's not gonna be cheaper and the shelling can also target the side positions, main fleet healing will prevent any unlucky death.
  • Having a CVL healer is mandatory, you need both the healing and the screen clearing, the second part is very important since you need to clear the screen when the enemies BB shell your main fleet. With Kongo and Haruna (first two shells are fired at the escort fleet, then two other are fired at the main fleet) you can clear the entire main fleet attack, with Nagato (three shells to the main fleet) you will probably still take damage.
    I went with Shouhou - Hood - Akashi and they really worked very well, fantastic healing and Shouhou's damage is pretty great.
  • Tirpitz will do 80% of the damage with 0 ammo (down from 130), this, coupled with CL secondaries, make Tirpitz a fantastic choice for 3 star clearing
  • Boss fleet can be whatever as long at is has great damage and tanky escorts, BBs are preferred (they can also deal with suicide ships as an added bonus).
Meanwhile JP/CN are getting new (supposedly) broken as fuck ships (I'm looking at you Amagi) and some awesome skins (they will probably be added later to EN server, at least the skin of ships that are released here), Helena, Montpelier and PoW in particular are a massive step-up from their base skin. You can watch the livestream here (the good part starts after around 70 minutes with new ships, skins, retrofit etc. etc.)

edit: I've gotten 3 z46, 2 deutschlands, a million hippers and no z25 ;_;

Hi guys. Recently started playing and have no idea whats happening. I don't care for re-rolling or anything like that. But did a bunch of cube rolls for the first day and got a few Super Rares like Takao, Enterprise, and Graf Zeppelin.

Two questions. Does Era have a guild? And, should I use gems for more limited cube bundles?

As far as I know there isn't an Era guild (because guilds don't have an advantage). I wouldn't recommend using gems for anything other than dock expansions (NOT storage expansions) and skins (if you like them). Gems are very rare.

Nice, thank you for the information!

I'm happy to hear that content isn't locked behind the guild feature and I won't buy skins to conserve on gems.

I'd also recommend dorm expansions, it helps A LOT with passively leveling and also repairing condition. Decorating it is also fun, ahaha :)

Dorm, ship slot, ring and skin is the primary usage. I may buy some gem for a live 2d skin though.
