According to this article? Apparently play legacy Nintendo games through emulators on Apple hardware. What would Apple even do with Nintendo that would return the investment?

Aaaaaaaand that's pretty much it.
Nintendo is a publicly traded company, Apple would just need to purchase 51% of their shares. There is no put on sale about it, as their equity/ownership is essentially always for sale.It always bring an smile to my face when its brought (unironically) the idea that someone should buy Nintendo (or that Nintendo will be put on Sale on 1st Place)
apple should buy nintendo, microsoft should buy sony, amazon should buy facebook, apple should buy google, microsoft should buy amazon, apple should buy microsoft
I'm all for this 3min video from JonyI need this to happen just so I can get Jony Ive talking about Labo.
there are many laws in place among countries to avoid this scenario, if "just buy their stocks" were an absolute rule, we would be ruled by a single monopoly already.Nintendo is a publicly traded company, Apple would just need to purchase 51% of their shares. The two greatest forces of good coming together? Sign me up.
They could if they wanted to, no one here should fool themselves into thinking otherwise.
Not sure, but I think Nintendo owns a significant part of their shares, to prevent this kind of hostile takeover
Disney is the event horizon. No one should want to be there at the point of no return.Besides the fact that Nintendo would never be for sale, I fail to see the synergy beyond some exclusive phone games with Mario's face on them. Not really gonna sell many iPhones.
If there's any U.S. company that would gain from purchasing Nintendo's characters, it's Disney.
That's just mutilating the joke.
Nintendo does not have enough cash on hand to prevent a hostile takeover through stock buybacks.there are many laws in place among countries to avoid this scenario, if "just buy their stocks" were an absolute rule, we would be ruled by a single monopoly already.
but lets say in theory is possible just by buying that 51%.
One of the reason Nintendo keeps theirs Treasure Chest is to be able to buy enough stocks to to make it impossible for a single entity to own 51% of the company's stocks

Was it almost? I think any big corp could buy them it's just their asking price would be too high.Remember when Microsoft almost bought Nintendo, now that wasn't speculation
Soothsayer. The article reads like an ERA post from someone that had no idea what they were talking about.
