I was hooked from the very first episode but I feel the story beats have had a good progression . Try watching the next episode at least.I didn't love the pilot, it felt a bit messy. Does the show pull itself together?
I didn't like the pilot much, and after watching all the episodes up until this recent one, I still think the show is finding its groove. Each episode has a lot of enjoyable sequences and moments, but they never manage to add up to something greater. At least for me.I didn't love the pilot, it felt a bit messy. The 47 year old man line is quietly the funniest line I've heard in a show in a long time. I think a ton of people missed it because he slips it by so confidently.'He killed my brother.'
'Okay you need to let that go.'
'I am a 47-year-old man...'
Eh, he's just a worse version of Sergei from Delocated, which this show owes A LOT to. If you haven't seen it, seek it out.
Completely agree and also very tough to watch. Went to a really dark place fastThat was easily one of the very best episodes of television in ages. Really, really great stuff.
Could you clarify a bit? How realistic of a portrayal was this of someone who never left the warzone jarhead mindset?
Obviously the voicemail messages were for jokes but I'm curious how the rest of the character landed for you as a vet.
That moment still fucks me up. I also love how you only see the act in flashbacks.I Keep thinking about that scene in the car. Holy shit. When dude backtracked. Jesus.
Yea man, what a tone shift this episode.

Meh, it's gotten a little better but it's really not clicking with me either. I think the show just ended up being different than I expected/wanted it to be which is my fault. I wish it would've been more of a dark comedy revolving around the messed up and funny stuff that happens to him during hits and that the whole acting thing would just be more of a side story that would eventually help him out in scenarios during hits where he gets made or runs into trouble. instead the hitman part of it seems to be slipping away more and more every episode.
I'd put it on the same tier as Ballers. I'm not clamoring to see the next episode but I still follow it because why not.
