Not exactly a big deal but still unsure why they made him an engineer rather than a support. Would seem to make sense to give the LMG using character of BF4 a support class.

Second gadget was the trophy system. You could see it stop a rocket. Probably more useful for supporting vehicles than infantry, now that I think about it.

Omar representing again. Same character from BF4? Sadly never made it to the campaign in that one.

Im back in 2007

This, Halo Infinite and a new CoD?

Like the days of rotating H3, BFBC2 and Cod4.

Looks so good.

Jesus that aim assist is like a magnet…I hope they finally add aim assist to PC if you use a controller.

They concluded that people were chosing classes mostly based on weapons which defeats the purpose of playing a certain role. Now you will first choose your role on the battlefield and then what weapon to roll with.

Welp, guess I'm skipping this one then. My only hope now is another spinoff of Squad, but dialed forward a century instead of back to WW2.

Battlefield needs:
1. Vehicles on Map - Gone since BF4
2. Strictly defined Classes - Gone since BF3
3. Team-Specific Weapons - Gone since BadCo

So you can just instantly drop a shield and it doesn't even have a setup animation or anything?

Or you could embrace change and enjoy what will probably be a fun game. Check out some videos when it comes out to see if you change your mind.

Looks fun, hopefully not too frustrating to fight against. The kill confirmation is a bit confusing (to know if you've killed an enemy) but it may be more obvious when you play.

why is his class listed as engineer? i thought "classes" in the traditional sense were done away with and gadgets were assigned to specialists? or did i misinterpret that?

I feel like in BFV 70% of people played the Assault Class for this reason. Also, Medic Class was such a pain to pay limited to SMGs in that game. Honestly might be a good call.

Why does it need any of that? Battlefield has earned its right to transform itself and explore new and interesting ventures just like any gaming series. I don't see the point in instantly rejecting a game the second you hear about a specific change, just because it doesn't reflect the past well enough. What's important is that they are focused on making improvements to the gameplay as well as keeping it fresh. Getting rid of class specific weapons can certainly be seen as an improvement in that regard. At least their argument is a valid one but if this is the right solution only time will tell. The bottom line is that no one knows so it's fruitless to make judgments and "nope I'm out" comments at this point.

I'm realizing now I haven't liked any of the gameplay footage they have shown for 2042.

It all looks off, and I can't remember the last time Battlefield had a pre-release showing that wasn't impressive. Hardline maybe?
