This makes me so happy, loved the first one and Bayo 2 was my GOTY. Kind of ridiculous in hindsight that in 2012 Bayonetta was a one and done series as far as we knew

Well, here’s to hoping that Bayo 2 will sell a million extra cuz I’m sure it didn’t break 100k on Wii U.
Bayo3 looks really good, too :D
It really is gonna be hard to find a retail priced Switch for a while.

So hyped for this announcement. I hope Switch can handle rock solid 60fps at native resolutions

It is just an exclusive this time now for whatever reason. Probably technical stuff so they can continue reusing assets, heh.

There is no Nintendo copyright in the trailer so it is likely just a timed exclusive this time, but it's unfortunate because I believe this is something that should be on all potential platforms.
Bayonetta is a Nintendo release now, unfortunately for those on exclusively other platforms. Look at Bayonetta 2, I wouldn’t expect a different situation here.

Will this be a commitment for the Bayonetta IP that extends beyond the trilogy on the Switch? I was skeptical for a Switch Smash 4 DX with all the DLC (including Bayonetta), but now...?

Wait... people are upset? Consoles get exclusives all the time. What’s wrong with y’all?
People often get upset when a series they enjoy comes out on a system they don't own. They often consider it a "betrayal".

It's dumb. If you really care that much about the series, buy the hardware that you can play it on.

It's all fun and games when you realize this was just a teaser and the game might still have a long way to go. A late 2019 game for sure. Heck it might release closer to Metroid Prime 4 wich also probably still has a long way to go.

I can't believe I am thoroughly entertained both by a game announcement and its reaction thread in ERA.
Some of the reactions here are priceless.
Looking forward to the complete trilogy :)

I'm so, so happy that Bayonetta 3 is happening. I think Nintendo is banking on her newfound popularity from Smash 4 and the Switch doing better than the Wii U for this title.

Best game news in a long time. Bought a WiiU for Bayonetta 2 and will now buy a Switch for this.

I dunno. People have the right to be upset when the first one was multi. Even got a PC release later and sold well. Same shit happened with Nier not on Xbox.

This industry is wack. Dunno why third party insist on denying people to play their game on any console. Like it's OK if it's timed but knowing Nintendo they will keep it exclusive for at least a whole generation.

The user was warned for this post. Stop derailing the thread with port begging.
If Sega is funding this than they're making a dumb decision making it exclusively for the switch and not putting it out on other platforms. Nintendo is paying some part of it
Not necessarily. They have made loads of exclusives for Nintendo platforms in the past for no reason. They make exclusives for every platform still quite regularly.

There could be deals behind the scenes that we do not know of, like it could be as basic of a deal as Nintendo agreeing to pay back development of the next Mario & Sonic Olympics title.

We will see and you may be right but I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment assuming Nintendo is not partially funding it like the last one just because there isn’t a copyright from Nintendo. Nintendo even controlled when, who, and how it was announced and appear to be publishing as well. We don’t know but I wouldn’t assume Sega made it exclusive for no reason.
I just want to see SEGA's brands flourish again and having so many of their games stuck on singular platforms is disappointing. It is nice that Valkyria Chronicles 4 is on everything and I wish this was the same, it's especially disappointing after Bayonetta 1 was such a big hit on PC.

And both Sony and Microsoft (and whoever else) passed on it. Nintendo showed faith in it so why shouldn't SEGA and Platinum continue the partnership with them?
Yeah I mean it does seem like more of a nice gesture rather than anything else.

This is blatantly untrue.
The original rumour we heard in mid 2012 clearly said that Bayonetta 2 was one of the many titles SEGA cancelled because of their restructuring and focus on their "core Ip (Sonic, Yakuza and back then even Aliens).
It was not shelved, it was clearly done for. Just because they didn't cancel the movie, which was clearly planned to be an advertisement after Nintendo picked up the funding for B2 means absolutely nothing ( We have no idea what kind of deal the movie was tangled up with).

Quite frankly, this reeks of grasping at straws when even the development team went on record to say that B2 wouldn't have happened without Nintendo. This sped up thing is nonsense and not how publishers work.
The development team only ever said 'in danger of being cancelled', which is likely more . They were notably very disappointed with how SEGA handled Vanquish and Anarchy Reigns marketing. Cannot say I can blame them either.

Better start asking Nintendo to port it to your beloved platform.
First of all, nice fanboy reaction - I want it on all platforms, just like how I want all of SEGA's significant IPs to be. Second of all, that is from the Bayo1+2 trailer. This is what the Bayo3 trailer has:

You can stop port begging please? You're trying so hard. You can't handle Nintendo has Bayonetta exclusive again.
What? I said I want it on all platforms, just like Valkyria Chronicles 4. This is a great franchise and I want to see SEGA's brands flourish. On everything.

Also I only have only purchased Nintendo game hardware in the past 6 years, so congrats for playing yourself.
