Calling Andrew Neil a leftist is hilarious. Shocking that he defers to uneducated ad hominem attacks when met with someone who isn't interested in playing his games. Videos like this just highlight how terrible the US media is, everyone is gutless in their line of questioning.

Make no mistake, this interview trending will do more good for Ben Shapiro than harm.
Shapiro isn't even good at keeping up his character on his own show. He's accidentally failed to misgender trans people before - refers to them with the correct pronouns, then catches himself, backs up, and remembers he's supposed to be dehumanizing them.
It's embarrassing how the left in the US has that as an ideological adversary. Shapiro is about as competent and effective as any rightwing ideologue, exhibiting the sincerity of Sean Connery in a Celebrity Jeopardy SNL skit and the intellectual curiosity of roadkill. His performance here is essentially US conservatism itself on display.
Ben Shapiro made his name talking over unconfident students and the like who likely have never spoke publically before. He's never really had to argue his point before. Against a real journalist on air who puts him on the spot he crumples like the fool he always was.

Yeah. He was shocked and resorted to the “GOTCHA!” line. Broadcast journalism in the USA tends to mean “you reel off your talking points and we promise not to push you to explain them”.
This wasn't an interview, it was an expose.
His fans will focus on shit like "they were using random YT video titles from other people to frame him badly, dishonest media!".
As others have said, it's a shame our media won't scrutinise our own government in this way.

Ben was speaking so damn fast at times during that clip I wondered if it was sped up, but nah, normal speed. I would probably buckle in a debate with him and he'd come out on top because of that loudness and speed alone, I tend to speak more slowly and carefully and try not to talk over other people.
That's probably one reason I don't like debating too much, the optics tend to favour the loudest and most talkative person under the guise of the best idea winning.

It is playing with fire to give these people a platform, in this instance though I think it was more beneficial than not.
These neofascists are all the same, it really is fascinating. This interview shows the very same things that I've personally experienced in the last few years trying to reach people in my personal life who have slipped into the neofascist cult movement.

Depends whose doing the interview. Anytime someone tries to defend Shapiro now we can point to this video. Definitive proof that the man's a hack of the highest order.

I don't know much about Ben Shapiro but I've heard about him on YouTube every now an then cause I like left tube content. But watching this video I don't get how anyone likes him. He isn't making an argument he is just rambling at the mouth and attacking the journalist and the network at the first sign of serious inquire. Like the dude didn't even scrutinize him that harshly and he freaked out over it.
Both of the two big right-wing posterboys have voices where I don't know how people can listen to them for an extended period of time. Jordan Peterson sounds like Kermit.

This isn't some new side of him or some mask dropping moment, this is exactly what he does all the time. If people couldn't see through this (and I'm being generous here) grifter, this isn't going to change their minds. I can almost guarentee that there will be a video labelling this same interview as Shapiro crushing the BBC with his rhetoric might.
