I really don't know much about this guy, but I watched those videos and he clearly seems to be from a comedic lens. Is this show suppose to be 100% serious or is it like a comedy show.
The other comments from the article seem much worse than the videos but overall the guy has political views that are very in line with Bernie.

I'd really prefer not to signal boost that twitter account. Read her tweets. She's incredibly disingenuous and has a "bitch eating crackers" attitude toward Bernie and his coalition.
Cenk is an idiot and I doubt he wins. I'm okay with people bringing up his past words and putting him to account.

Since CA is a jungle primary and CA 25 is a very hotly contested seat, my fear is that his antics on this Bloomberg-ian vanity campaign could lose us the seat.

Basically:
Cenk was in his 30s and 40s when he wrote incel-lite blog posts, spewed misogonisty takes on his "progressive" internet program, and continued denial of a genocide. I'm sad an abrupt about-face from some gross views and positions is enough for people to think he's a good spot for that seat, especially surrounding the circumstances of why that seat is even up for grabs.
I am not sure why Bernie would pick this guy out of everyone else. Like damn, why this guy out of everyone else.

a) Don't back carpetbaggers, regardless of who they are. It hurts candidates bad in local elections.
b) Cenk sucks and Cenk running for the seat vacated due to Revenge Porn is not a good look
c) Bernie is once again showing a commitment to valuing loyalty above all other concerns and it's a gigantic pattern at this point that's a massive red flag regarding an ability to actually manage an executive office. This isn't a ideological politics thing - Hillary was also bad about this, but it manifested in different ways with her being unwilling to cut people loose.

Cenk says dumb shit all the time and while I think he took back the genocide denial I see no fucking way endorsing him can ever have a positive impact for Bernie.

The interview I posted earlier addressed some of the controversies he's been involved in. I admit I'm not extremely versed in all the shit, but it seems genuine to me.
Trying to focus on the actual topic and ignore the bad faith OP- Cenk is better on the issues than Christy Smith. His politics are much closer to Bernie's. But this seems to be more of a loyalty move, as TYT has given Sanders a platform pretty much nonstop for the last 4 years.
Cenk had renounced his previous sexist comments from 20 years ago, and his Armenian Genocide denial, more than once. For me, the denial of genocide is particularly beyond the pale, I don't care what kind of propaganda he was raised on in Turkey, and I didn't like his initial disavowal (too weak). I haven't followed TYT for a few years, but I think he spoke more about the subject and went into more detail? In the end it will be up to the voters of that district whether or not to take him at his word.

No he didn't go into more and no he never really apologized. He just said he'd do better and not discuss topics he's not qualified for.
Wether you love him or hate him, Cenk has acknowledged many times the mistakes he made in the past.
he has already publicly stated those remarks were wrong and apologized for them. Multiple times.
What has he done to make amends for them? Talk is cheap. And the Seth Rich stuff was three years ago. I don't remember seeing an apology for that!
