Definitely think this is pretty much a non-issue. I think Bernie was just trying to release info as much as his other candidates, and if pressed on it, he'll release it if he wants. Right now, it's all about securing the primary. I'd rather not the best chance for progressive and beating Trump be dogged by claims unending of "he's gonna die because X" in his medical history.

Some Trump-esque shenanigans. If we shit on Trump for his tax returns don't see how we can't shit on Bernie for this.

I've never understood the mindset that inspires people to speak for other people they've never met when someone criticizes a politician they might favor.

So just because I'm curious...who did you support in 2016? Cuz I mean...that was from before Bernie's heart attack and his positions in 2016 are much closer to Liz's in 2020 than Hillary's in 2016.

"When pressed by reporters if more information would be released, he said, "Probably not." "

Biden should release more too though I don't think he made any promises.

It's not going to reassure voters if he himself is unwilling to be transparent as he promised he would be. This is Bernie walking back a promise that's unecessary when it's a fairly important topic and he could easily shut down the narrative.

It's not concern trolling, the man just had a heart attack. The last CNN poll shows he has the most voters doubting his fitness for office, higher than Biden or Warren.

Lol yup. Still don't get why Era hates Bernie so much.

A few reasons, and they're as much about his supporters as himself:

- Bernie's supporters think we can magically snap a socialist utopia into place by installing Bernie as President, in an environment where even someone slightly to the left of Joe Biden scares moderates. My Trump-hating mom already thinks even Warren is too far - the idea of Bernie in office scares her so much that she'd absolutely stay home if he was nominated. And my mom is in her mid-60s - guess what demographic actually comes out and reliably votes?
- Rather than accept that he isn't as popular as his supporters think he is, they insist that everyone is in on a huge conspiracy to keep Bernie out of office. Every photo on a website or in a newspaper has been meticulously placed there to make you think bad thoughts about Bernie, and any words that aren't absolutely glowing are just a sign that the fix is in. Maybe some other people just don't like him as much as his supporters do.
- There are currently expectations in terms of what you need to do to run for President - releasing taxes, releasing medical information, and being a member of the party you're actually running for are way up there. Bernie dragged his feet on the tax thing for *years*, is dragging his feet in regards to medical stuff, and still refuses to identify as a Democrat the minute he loses a nomination.
- I'm sick of being told by his supporters that I'm a centrist, neoliberal or hardly better than Trump because I have concerns about nominating Bernie.

Why would I vote for a populist who has no serious legislative record (other than a bunch of amendments that never went anywhere) and a completely inflexible world view that isn't compatible with a chunk of even the American left - let alone the centrists - when there are other candidates that give you 90% of the platform with far more pragmatism and a demonstrated willingness to work with others instead of continuing a Trump-like 'my way or the highway' approach? I mean, I'll absolutely vote for him in the general if he were to get nominated, but I don't think I have much to worry about there.

So 3 letters from doctors vs 7 pages of information is a big deal now? Nobody has given full medical history disclosure, where are those threads?

Sending the cowardly LIAR Bernie my love and energy. Without it he will surely die like it says in his secret UNRELEASED RECORDS

So, I meant to touch on this in your last post in which you decided to speak for me. But politicians are more than just policy. If it were a simple process of installing a set of policies into action that a politician holds to then I would actually be all in for Bernie. I love his policies (mostly) but I don't care for him as a politician (Clinton-style loyalty over all blindspots, naivety, many, many many poor and careless hires both large and small, etc. Damaniel touches on some issues I have too).

I remember when someone in 2016 told me, with total sincerity, that Hillary wouldn't survive past Inauguration Day.

Bernie himself said he was going to release them. People talking about it cause he promised something comprehensive. Letters ain't that. You can still hold people accountable and like them.

This is why people feel comfortable speaking for you friend...it's so transparent.

You're trying to claim that this is an issue for you but your mind was already made up. I'm not speaking for you this time...you've almost explicitly stated it yourself many times, I'm just reading between the lines.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that there is close to a 1:1 ratio of Hillary '16 supporters to people posting that they are "concerned" about this medical issue.

Why should he need to be pressed for information the public wants to hear? The man is 79 years old and recently had a heart attack and is trying to get the most stressful job in the world.

Damn. Got 'em. Bernie is canceled.

I don't really care tbh. I vote for him fully expecting his VP to wind up being president sooner or later. It's more about voting for his policy than for the man himself.

if you have the time the muck around on a forum dedicated to luxury electronic toys you're probably not in Bernie's target demographic. That lane is taken up by Warren for the lefties and Buttigeg for the righties. Bernie appeals more to teachers, nurses, bartenders, cleaners, and has the most donors in the military outside of trump. I'd wager most of the people who post here work in tech and finance.

It's not even bad numbers. He's doing fine.
He "looks" like he's doing fine. Heart attack survivors who "only" got stents look the same but as with all HA victims, it takes time for the body to really heal. So the bloodwork cholesterol, vitals like blood pressure etc. will not look that great in the beginning when the recovery period is most happening and while his body adjusts to the new heart healthy diet and new meds. I wouldn't be surprised when he releases really good current numbers a few months before the DMC Primaries.

So we're just cool with calling Jewish candidates grifters now?

Wow really? You want to go there?

Edit: also, fuck you shitstain, for what you're implying. Do you need a list from me for other people I consider 'grifters'?

He provided enough information on the heart attack and his current health. Does the public need to know everything? It's not important.

Yikes.

It would certainly be an issue in the general if it gets used as a very easy, pre-made R attack line.

I don't understand this thinking that I need to be a Sanders supporter to bring this up. And let's remember. He is the one who made the promise to disclose. It's not something I or anyone else pulled out of their ass.

Not many victims of heart attacks with stents are running for president, and this is the easy part - the primaries haven't began, the general is going to be stressful AF and if he becomes president that's another layer of stress for 4 to 8 years.

He provided enough information on the heart attack and his current health. Does the public need to know everything? It's not important.

Yes.

Donald Trump: You're old and haven't released your medical records
Bernie Sanders: Uh...neither have you.

Crisis averted! Such a huge issue!

He provided less than he promised. Do you think Bernie lied when he said he would provide comprehensive medical records?
I'm sure he will, the man need should probably recover well before releasing anything else. Unless you want this stuff to be brought up in the general election.
