Ahhh yes, I'm neoliberal for supporting the nationalization of our energy infrastructure, mass ban on semi-automatic weapons, at least a public option for healthcare, decriminalization on drugs, end of private prisons, public colleges being free, removing student debt for those who have no means to realistically pay it off...

Or do you have some examples you wanna bring up? I would love to see them!

If you're not a neoliberal, and cannot point to specific policies on which Sanders is not socially progressive enough, your objection to him comes across as rather aesthetic, rather than substantive.

This is an incredibly powerful and symbolic picture.

There actually seems to be a fair amount he could get done without Congress, including lowering prescription drug prices and forgiving almost all student loan debt. There's plenty on that here, it seems well researched: https://prospect.org/day-one-agenda

On student loan forgiveness, I find it remarkable that every left leaning podcastI listen to fails to explain why Bernie can't do this. They just assume something has to go through Congress. It's really annoying. Hopefully this candidate field shrinks SOON so Bernie can hash out the universal versus targeted argument that needs to be had in the party and that's being avoided so Buttigieg and Klobuchar can yell at Warren to admit that Medicare for all raises taxes in "teh Mittle CLASS!!!"

Dude, people asked questions in the first two pages before the thing even started, and I answered some of them. Conversation threads happen that aren't directly on topic, and when six people start quoting me I'm gonna reply to them. I'm not fishing for shit, unlike some people I'm perfectly comfortable talking about major disagreements and writing about my view points and supporting those views.

It's pretty fucking bullshit when I take some effort to write out my thoughts to peoples posts that quote me (or make erroneous assumptions and accusations) and get called a "troll".
Maybe I was quick to lump you in as a troll so my bad. I just kept seeing discussions that had nothing to do with the rally and was getting very irritated.

This was a nice "relaunch" for his campaign. Hoping Bernie the best in the early primary states. Would be nice if the man can get to the White House.

I had work today. When I got on the bus coming home, I saw people with Bernie signs. It was beautiful.

I will be relieved when anyone other than Trump is elected.

I will be ecstatic if either Bernie or Warren are elected. I have nothing but good feelings about both campaigns at this point.

Bernie is the best choice for 2020. Bernie would probably be pretty progressive even here in the UK context...he is certainly even more combative than Corbyn, especially in his 1% rhetoric, and is a more powerful orator (not that is particularly important to me, but it generates hype).

What are the major differences between Warren and Sanders?
They both seem similar but Warren messed up with the whole Native American thing and sounding like Tim Cook.

As a European, I really don't get people being against this candidate. I think the US would be much better off if you got him in the white house.

A lot of media regardless of leaning have trashed socialism or anything like it to the point it is seen as evil or treasonous to the foundation of the country.

idiots in this country supposedly hate socilaism despite having an abusive police force, military, and something social security or medicare.

I think they wanted details...not platitudes.

For instance, Warren's Green New Deal would seek to raise 2 trillion while Sander's would seek 16.3 trillion. I think framing it in simple ideological terms like that is simplistic. It puts too much credince in abstract thinking. The Green New Deal alone, if underpinned by a just transition would be pretty radical in terms of socio-economic implications if implimented.

I really hope Bernie wins this time. None of other candidates are as strong or credible on the positions that he is.

the tl;dr of it is both would represent fundamental shifts away from the status quo, but Sanders would go a little bit to much further depending on the issue owing to the fact that he's an avowed socialist rather than Warren's rather socdem leanings

(at least in domestic policy, Warren's a bit underdeveloped wrt FP)

I reaaallly hope he gets the nomination. From what I can tell, he stood for leftist, progressive ideals long before others in the Democratic party hopped on the wagon when it might be convenient to do so now.

General gist of it is that Bernie's endgame would be socialism (or as close to socialism as possible), while Warren is more moderate and believes capitalism is good (provided it's controlled). In other words, Bernie leans harder to the left than Warren. Though it has to be said that they're both more to the left than the other candidates.

Jacobin had a good article about why it makes sense that AOC chose to back Sanders instead of Warren by comparing key differences between the two candidates:
