With both the champions league final and the europa league final being all English affairs I think we can all agree that the EPL is the best league around.

Consistently the better teams this year. A never die attitude. And leaders in the teams that actually motivate their squads rather than rely on individual brilliance

Well for the one that matters it's the first time in 11 years that 2 English teams compromise it. In that time span we've had an all La Liga final multiple times as well as a Bundesliga final. Only 1 winner from the PL since Manchester United in 2008 too which is... not great.

So yeah I beg to differ.

I'd also say EPL is top given that more teams have a shot at winning a title in any given season. For me La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A & Bundesliga are about the same. They each only have 1 or 2 teams that have a legit shot at winning. Though sometimes those top 1 or 2 change.

The OP is regarding leagues.
How many teams have won the Spanish league in the last 15 years? How many genuine contenders?

5 over the last 30 years, 4 over the last 15 years.

To be fair, the top 4 leagues are ruled by about 4-5 teams. They are not mired by parity and no one would confuse them as being socialist.

All around it's the strongest league, which I think makes sense given all the money in it. La Liga usually has higher highs but I'd prefer watching Liverpool and City this year than Barcelona and Real Madrid

Premier League.

More competitive, no fixture is a given and plenty of clubs pulling far above their weight in terms of results.

Also, I've watched games from other European leagues and it just doesn't feel as fast-paced as the PL. Far more attacking in mentality.

Not even remotely close to the level of Serie A in the 90's.

I watched it for the scenery espresso and sweet. It's how Pep started out before becoming Barca manager.

Martinez also had the same gig.

PL finally found their own way to win something relevant, took you long enough
Roy Keane took care of juventus' greatest ever team by himself. Put Zidane in one pocket, Davids in another, and slapped Conte and Dechamps on the way to scoring headers

oh and chewed out Baggio and fat Ronaldo's inter a few days before too
Nice hyperbole there m8

Lol with 5 out of 5 CL and 4 out of 5 EL won by Spanish teams in the last 5 years, this year's finals are filled by English teams for the first and probably last time ever, and suddenly the Premier League is the best by far.
Let's see if they can keep that up in the coming seasons, and then we will say.

We're leaving the EU and we're taking all the cups with us

It's coming home.

This season it's the EPL but let's not pretend Spanish teams haven't been dominating the UCL for the last 10 years

Premier League is the most entertaining easily. More competitive top to bottom mostly.

If you are going for quality, all top leagues are up there, England had their time, Germany had their time, Italy too, Spanish had quite a long spell and have come and gone, they'll be back. I think England is such a hard league in comparison to others that Madrid and Barca have it a little easier even if they are competing only against each other by winning most games which is still a task, not saying they aren't amazing teams and have been above the rest quite a lot of the time but they just don't have that same week to week battle in the same level as English teams.

then 3 years later Ryan Giggs did it too, putting up a nice 3-0 on Buffon in Turin while teaching Del Piero, Nedved, Thuram what it would be like if they showed up in the Premier league

Are you seriously taking Juventus in CL against ManUtd as a meter for how Italians would perform in PL?
Because even by forgetting the times we beat you, I can vividly remember a Milan 3 - 0 Utd a dozen years ago.

As an Italian who lived through the 90s golden age I can only agree.

And it's well deserved too, stadiums are all new and always full, the pitch grass always in great condition, and the games are played at high intensity.

Italy is like 10 years behind.

that wasn't in the 90s, that was 2007 with manchester united having no defenders from injuries and michael carrick playing at CB. Then when we faced them again in 2010 with a healthy team, paul scholes made sure we put 3 passed them at the San Siro to even that up

in the 90s where italian teams were dominant, Sir Alex's United swept the floor with Serie A teams

Buffon came to Juventus during the summer of '01, so tell me your rules. Are you counting only '97 to '03 to stop reminding yourself that even Tottenham and Arsenal are close to a European cup?

97 to 03 was juventus' peak and they still got stomped on by Gary Neville. You're the one who brought up Milan from a decade later. Sure extend the time frame more, where a 6th placed Manchester united in a time of crisis is still beating Juventus in Turin with Juan Mata free kicks

...it just proves the Premier Leagues dominance even more
