I don't play enough racing games. Mario Kart 8 and F-Zero GX are the only two on the poll I've played. I've played other ones from some of the represented series - Forza (on 360, not sure which), Burnout (Paradise), Gran Turismo (5), also NFS (really old ones, like NFS2), but none of them really left much of an impression on me.

Between MK8 and F-Zero GX I lean toward F-Zero, but both are great games.

I'd have to say F-Zero GX because there is still no other game like it with that sense of speed and amazing controls. MK8D is my runner up though.

Burnout 3. I was so excited to find out it was easy to emulate ps2 games.
Of course, nothing is perfect.. PCSX2 has a tiny bit of input delay that honestly makes the game a lot less satisfying.

In the end I'm just playing it on PS2 again.

FH3's map was a lot more interesting than FH4's, which I found comparatively very boring, so I'm surprised that the latter received more than double the number of votes in the first round. Gameplay wise they felt similar enough that I can't really remember which was which aside from the environs.
