So an expected 25% increase in console prices is what I'm getting from this article? I'll probably do some digging later to find other articles on the topic, but I would imagine tariffs will hit gamers.

So if they want a $499 price point, with this 25% increase it would actually run you ~$623. You still interested?
25% Chinese tariffs will likely have direct effects on the price of consoles since they operate on such tight margins. One could imagine a 20-25% increase in costs that will be directly placed on the consumer.
Basically Trump tariffs could make components in the hardware cost 25% more to produce meaning either prices will be higher or a different production line that doesn't include China will be needed.

Canada has a shitty currency, europe has high taxes and the US has tariffs.
Canadians will wind up paying more as well because of the US tariffs.
Because we're not going to both be paying $599 for the same console. The Canadian price will wind up $699-749 at least.

I doubt this will change the effect on the price of consoles. If anything it'll hurt the profit margins and we might finally see $70 games because of it.
Keep in mind that Sony learned a hard lesson when it came to console pricing and I sincerely doubt if there's an increase in manuf costs due to tarrifs those will be passed to the consumer at least not in console price increases. They'll find a different way to get us.

Meaning the possibility for less powerful consoles because of the US policies.
