No build up, just stays flat until the final verse where even then it hits no real highs. Shame this is the final Craig era song, but J didn't expect much from Eilish either.

It's honestly kind of boring. Her voice is fine but the production just feels like a bore. Not impressed.
It's pretty funny to think how kind time has been to You Know My Name.

Absolute shit and sounds like a demo. It sounds worse than "Writing's on the Wall" if that's possible. I want to hear the songs they rejected for this theme.

Set the films back to the '60s where spies were actually useful; have Russia be the big bads as commentary on current events; give the thing the naturalistic look of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy; give Bond an arsenal of lofi gadgets like prosthetic disguises and fake documentation; depict brutal, well-choreographed violence that the Hayes Code prevented in the actual '60s. Finally, sell me a fucking ticket to that.

I know I shouldn't be judging films based on the theme songs, but I continue to be surprised at how much this film is happy to buddy up with Spectre stylistically. In the same way CR did to DAD, and to a lesser extent, what Skyfall did to QOS, I really thought this film was going to distance itself in every way possible from its immediate predecessor given the lukewarm reception.
QOS was stiffly modern, slick and rough. Skyfall was traditional and operatic. QOS was short. Skyfall was long. QOS was building toward a shady megavillainous organisation. Skyfall jettisoned that for a new singular villain. QOS was brown, dirty shaky-cam. Skyfall was Deakins' spectacular colours + beautifully striking compositions. And most relevant to this thread, QOS was grimy, tense rock and roll White + Keys. Skyfall was sweeping ballad.
Along with a slew of other storytelling decisions that bridge Spectre to NTDD like bringing back Blofeld and Swan, it's just odd that out of all Bond themes, Eilish's song bares the most resemblance to Spectre's. I really thought NTDD would have all but forgotten about the clusterfuck of Spectre, and built an entirely independent final send off with more in common with CR than anything else and that includes the song. If they were chasing ballad, I thought it'd recall Skyfall. I honestly would have preferred something more experimental like Madonna's DAD than this, which just sounds too laborious and generic to excite.

Trash. Bond songs aren't meandering and unsure of themselves. They're bold and brash, full of confidence. This is barely a song, it's just whispering over background lounge music. Sampling two classic bond riffs within the main song really stands out as cheap and unoriginal.

I assure you this franchise goes off a cliff during everyone's tenure at some point. I'd say Craig has remained mostly on the road by comparison.

Better than Sam Smiths, but I feel like both songs since Skyfall have been poor imitations. Not bad, but a little bland.

It was fine, I think it would work well as background music, I just don't see it becoming a reference for Bond movies.
I'll take this please. They looked like they were on track to refresh the franchise properly with Casino Royale, but they've really shit the bed ever sense and shown they have no idea how to do an interesting modern Bond.
Ive lost hope. Even Skyfall was just OK. Imma just rewatch Casino.
How many more of these films can revolve around this boring metacommentary on the obselescence of spies in the modern era? Added to the fact that the series is utterly gutless, establishment and formulaic. Broccoli et al wouldn't touch religious fundamentalist terrorism with a ten foot barge pool. It's easy to forget how damn bold it was to make From Russia With Love when they did.
Seriously, make these things really well-crafted period thrillers at this point.

Get's stronger around the mid point but I'm not feeling it. I probably wouldn't listen to this over Writing's on the wall, Skyfall and You know my name are still tied for first.
I mean that's not really in doubt all the Craig era intro sequences have been bangers, ever Quantum's was on point
