On a second viewing, I agree with everyone who says the line about being a kid from Oakland beleving in fairy tales is the best one.
That just speaks so much about Erik's character.

The conversation kinda falls in the middle. They talk about dudes but they also talk about themselves and ther personal responsibilities and where their allegiences lie. Okoye's being to Wakanda which means standing by the throne in moments of disagreement. Which I would imagine would be enough to pass the test.Of course we can't roll back the tape until it actually comes out, but the context of their conversation has to do with killmonger usurping the throne and t'challa being dead.
They do talk about other things, so maybe.
Good movie but I never felt like BP was ever in any danger when he was in the suit. Really undercut the tension it would have otherwise had. Even when he was losing he was getting stronger. Guns didn't mean shit. Punching him was useless. Did the suit have any weaknesses beyond the sonic scrambling things?
Did you miss the part when he got grenade launcher into a wall and all the saved up energy diffused?
Oh when he flew threw the air and the energy was sapped?
Did you watch this movie?
(I'm only half joking at you)

It wasn't so much about him physically being in danger as Wakanda and his rule and world view being threatened. The superhero fluff action scenes are inconsequential to the main conflict.
Yeah, I get that but if the protagonist is invulnerable the action scenes are a waste of screen time. The whole South Korea sequence was all about Nakia and Okoye because they werent bulletproof and they could have died in the crash. Everything else in that scene was just tedious.
I absolutely loved the movie but I find the justification for locking threads based on some more critical articles to be really dubious.
There's some healthy debate to be had .
Goddamnit, I had a big old post for that locked thread and as soon as I pressed post, the thread was locked. What a waste of mental energy.

Well I'll certainly put my hand up for inadvertently fucking it up to a certain extent.
those threads were garbage and based on shitty hot take articles filled with weak ass bullshit that always ended up in circular arguments
so it's either I create a graveyard or I lock the thread
Mate your post here boils down to "no critical threads allowed"...Yeah and I think that creating threads for "hot takes" with the obvious objective of diminishing the film doesn't deserve to stay around. You wanna talk about the film and has seen a review / hot take, post it here. This thread is popular as fuck, we don't need to create a thread for hot takes. It's like people are constantly trying to create one thread to take negatively about the film "because". Not only that, I've learned about imhotepery. For that, that thread was worth something, at least, haha.
We're not creating new threads for positive reviews/essays on the movie...Mate your post here boils down to "no critical threads allowed"...

Oh come off it. Have a guess at how many currently unlocked Black Panther threads have been created since the movie came out. We're not creating new threads for positive reviews/essays on the movie...

I enjoyed this roundtable style discussion on the movie: https://play.google.com/music/m/Dmn...lstar_Review-Black_Astronauts_Podcast_Network
Your original posit was:Does that make him vulnerable to bullets or knives or rhino horns?
I mean yeahMy post boils down that no positive or negative threads should be allowed. How many threads have you seen about reviews of Black Panther other than this one and the Reviews thread? Because I haven't seen anything else. Of course that there are threads to discuss the score, soundtrack, kids getting excited af to watch the film, but no actual "takes" about the film, either positive or negative. They are all centered on this thread.
You JUST started a TLJ thread that could have gone in that movie's OT.My post boils down that no positive or negative threads should be allowed. I'm looking at TLJ as a recent example. The threads created for that were a mess.Oh come off it. Have a guess at how many currently unlocked Black Panther threads have been created since the movie came out.
There's nothing wrong withwith crea threads to discuss thematic successes/issues with a film in depth, using a particular article as a jumping off point. It happens all the time. Look at TLJ as a recent example.

I think were in agreementHere, I'll help you:

You are incorrect. "Hot takes" aren't getting posted to discuss the film. All of the reviews are going either here or on the reviews thread. I'd listen to BronsonLee's advice. He already warned that discussion about moderation decisions should be taking to PM, not here.
See the post below:
And my Star Wars thread wasn't so much about The Last Jedi as it's about Star Wars going forward. It's about the franchise's future and discussing the points of a video that I thought it was interesting to discuss. Era isn't a place for us to discuss hot takes of people targeting films with progressive messages for whatever reasons they have, especially when we can smell the imhotepery from the first page (I'm running this word into the ground).
You mean Killmonger right?I wonder if N'Jobu would've given up his dream to liberate black people had T'Chaka and Zuri took him home as a kid? Or would he have said "Fuck that, I'm Wakandan now fuck them other niggas."
I think he meant N'Jadaka, Erik's Wakandan name.
