A BIG POINTER FOR NUMBER 2, do NOT choose the Pistol as your starter. Go for Blunderbuss.Let's get those tips for the rookies going!
1. It is sometimes better to dodge toward and through the enemy instead of away from them.
2. Master the parry/visceral combo as soon as possible. You don't need to rely on it but it is very useful in combat.
3. Explore. Explore. Explore. The level design encourages it and you will benefit quite a bit from it in more ways than one.
4. Don't be hesitant to just run pass enemies. You can always backtrack after you've got your bearings.
A BIG POINTER FOR NUMBER 2, do NOT choose the Pistol as your starter. Go for Blunderbuss.
Pistol is pure damage with a lessened chance of parry, Blunderbuss trades damage for a guaranteed parry up close.

^^^^The greatest SP experience of my life.
The DLC is worth every red cent folks . Don't hold your breath for a sale on it. Never happens so just pony up and enjoy the best this game has to offer with Ludwig and Kos.
I suggest to new players to use the Saw as your weapon the whole game. Rarely need to change it to it's big long variant.
Axe is also a good alternate.
Both will take you far.
Tip: Don't equip the Hand Lantern, it gives you much lower stamina regeneration. Just use a Torch when needed.
Yesssss. Don't be afraid to look up hints and play through a if you eat stuck. The beginning of the game is kinda the hardest part.I am going to be new to this game after procrastinating on it the past 3 years and I am ready to die over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
I haven't played it since I got my PS4 pro, are there any enhancements?
I did the Chikage/Bloodtinge build for my first play through. It is indeed glorious, but perhpas not as user friendly as the Strength Builds. For anyone looking to do a repeat run, I highly recommend a build specced around the Bloodtinge stat. It's very unorthodox and may seem odd because it's generally viewed as a stat for increasing gun damage but when paired with the Chikage (basically a gorgeous katana) and Evelyn (gun) you can really pump out the damage.
Alternatively, if you're planning on playing the DLC for the first time I'd recommend trying a hybrid Strength/Arcane build. This will allow you to use the Holy Moonlight Sword to its full potential as it scales with both of these stats quite well.

There is a boss in the DLC who is possibly by far the coolestin gaming.female character
A farming tip for newbies:
Beat the boss, then offer co-op help for said boss. Reap juicy rewards and gain nice practice along the way.
