I guess you might not need to download it. Just entered the code, seemingly failed to download, then went in game to fight him.

I redeemed the code and did the thing. No download was required. Talk to the angry lady in town and she has a new assassination quest for you.

Fight and reward spoilers
Level 99 all shards 100% etc. I trounced him but I went through his attack patterns a couple times and I bet this fight is hard as balls at the appropriate level. He's fast, giant attacks, and a small hitbox. He has a couple screen wide attacks that are really hard to see coming and nearly impossible to dodge.

The shard you get from IGA is absolutely perfect.

The swordwhip is kind of underwhelming unless I'm missing something. It has a ton of range but the damage is kind of low. None of the sword techniques have any special flourish and you can't swing it like a Richter whip like I was hoping to. Am I missing something?

Got 100% map completion and beat IGA today.

I feel like the IGA was really designed with the possibility of the player being inverted the whole time in mind. Sure it made it easier to hit his head, but he was still capable of aiming attacks at you.

IGA isn't too hard to defeat, but getting a no-hit can be tricky. Funny enough, the Insatiable attack he uses on you in the second phase where it fills all four walls is probably the easiest one to avoid, so you really just need to watch for his leaping fireballs.

There is so much good stuff in this game, I really enjoyed it.

Just need to complain about a couple things. First, the music was just totally forgettable. Played the game for 25 hours and I can't recall a single track that stood out. Second, everything was way too linear. There are minor branching paths within an area, but unless I missed something there wasn't any point where you even fight a boss in a different order unless you are going for the bad ending.

Does luck improve the chance of rare drops? My luck is about 13 and the drops have been amazing so far.

Yeah, they feel too frequent. Having fun but I feel overpowered/overleveled. The design of the bosses seems pretty good thus far tho. Definitely going to do a run on the highest difficulty.

Finally getting back into this now that the GTA Online Casino hype is fading. I love the back-dash cancel, it almost breaks some of the boss battles. I was able to outrun one in particular and it was pretty obvious that that wasn't supposed to happen. I love how hilariously broken Miriam is starting to get. Feels so SotN.

The librarian had me rolling. Is it the same voice actor? I haven't bothered to look it up.

Yes. Not only that but they also used the same Japanese voice actor for that character from that game.

Can anyone help? I'm stuck at 27% in my map.

What should I do in the train station? Also, I don't have double jump yet. Just the big hand. I also can't proceed with the rotating tower since I need double jump.

You're getting ahead of yourself, try exploring a different area.

So what is the state of the game right now? Any major bugs that are getting fixed/big updates about to drop? Seeing if I should start it or wait a bit longer for it to be "finished". Playing on pc or ps4.

On PS4, I don't know, but the game is playable on pc. I've already finished it 2 or 3 times already, before the new patch was implemented. I tested it again yesterday and there was no problem.

The PS4 version is as close to parity with the PC version as it's going to get. It's probably always going to have a little hitching and framerate drop that most PC players won't experience, but as far as patches and DLC availability it's on the same level right now.

Thanks for the responses. Was more worried about if there was some big content patch looming that would effect a first playthough and since I've already waited a bit I would wait longer for "all" the stuff.

I had no idea Fangamer has the code for the IGA backback dlc for my PS4. So I just redeemed it, but its not downloading. It says its purchased and looking on the psn store on my ps4 and the web shows I have it.
Anyone have trouble downloading the IGA backpack dlc??
Oh nvm, just missed the post. No download is required for it.

Well heck I thought I was about done with the Steam achievements and find that I only have 87% of the weapons after crafting all of them. I also didn't realize that the 16 and 32 bit upgrades didn't count so I made all of them.

I wish there was an NG+ or something. I love how OP you get at the end of the game, and I want a reason to grind all the achievements out and complete the collections and keep playing, but beyond achievements there's nothing. Starting from scratch on Hard doesn't really appeal to me because I'd lose every bit of progress I've made in the compendium and go back to being super slow.

I probably did 5 or 6 NG+ files some hard and one on nightmare. I found it super fun to go back and massacre the game with all of my late game powers.

You can NG+ on hard. I did. It's fun to clown on the bosses.

oh lol I literally missed that there's an NG+ option in the load screen. derp. Now I want to max out all my passive shards before starting it, it's such a grind tho. These 2% drops are the worst, even with over 100 luck and boosting drop rates as much as possible.

I feel like I already kind of broke the game on Normal towards the end with my pure caster build. Used that directional shard that shoots a continuous beam of light, Tiss Rosain i think. Thing is, if you only tap it briefly it barely consumes mana and does a lot of damage per tick, but it ticks so slowly that it's better to just tap it once per second or something. But the upshot is it does a ton of damage at very little mana and you can keep your distance.

It's harder to max out but Void Ray is a disgustingly strong beam directional shard.

For boss shards like Craftwork, are they available elsewhere in the game, or do you need to beat the game 9 times to make their grade?

Most important question regarding NG+: Do you get to keep Accelerator?

Cool, I'll check it out. I stuck with mine because a lot of enemies are weak to holy also, and it just melts most enemies pretty fast.
Yes, I think that's a first for an IGAVania too.

I went with Tis Rosein too and Void ray is stronger but honestly you REALLY don't need that extra power if you 9/9'ed your shards and have all the gear. Everything still dies ASAP.

Excellent video. I love the way japanese devs usually talk about their games and the industry, and now I really want to know what that Iga game that wouldn't sell is. :D

Ah, another Tis Rozain sniper like myself! Discovered it late in the game and started spamming the quick taps forever, since after some amount of MP restore buffs it's essentially 0 used per tap; it felt incredibly satisfying to shoot down enemies that way. I will say that Void Ray is basically the exact same attack, but doesn't have as good of as an element as you noted. However, it does have one significant hidden benefit:

TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS-TIS-TIS RO-TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS-TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS-TIS-TIS RO-TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS-TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS-TIS-TIS RO-TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS-TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS-TIS-TIS RO-TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS ROZAIN TIS-TIS ROZAIN
etc.

all that

the hours of this filling my apartment

all that could be avoided

Beyond that... just a few things:
1. Are you using Red Remembrance? Once it affects luck, after some amount of damage taken it will outpreform just the luck increase shard. I can't check what my luck was by the end right now, but with Red Remembrance my stats in general got pretty ridiculous.
2. Similarly, do you have maxed rank on both that and increasing luck yet? Getting the passive effect can really help.
3. Just double check that you're using the highest luck equips possible - might be something slightly better you can get/make easily - and the relevant accessory for getting drops (I think it's plunderer's ring?). Similarly there's that ring for shards from finishing the putting people to rest questline.

Also, I'll say that I don't know if NG+ is a good idea for this, unless you need to get the two missable ones? Most of the Plat is just lots of mopping up very specific things; losing easy access to the full castle to NG+ doesn't seem like it has enough of a benefit to me.

Honestly... so much of the grind is really just maxing Alchemic Bounty, really. It's like the entire feeling of finishing the items list changed after that, it was night and day. It was so slow to farm items and then dismantle + remake certain things for hopefully multiplying gold (material) at first, but once you max that it's just x5 items happening super frequently, it's ridiculous how much quicker it gets once you can so easily multiply rare materials. And then that easily multiplied gold lets you max lots of other important passives, they just stack up too, etc. I regret how much I went "ah, just one more thing tonight, I'll farm this ingredient, and that one..." early on as it wasted lots of needless time in long sessions; the cooking bonuses probably helped but it's so much easier/faster to just get more done at the end like this.

I've got the same problem as modsbox , but I redeemed my backer code instead of buying it. Wonder what's up.
Turns out you don't need to download anything, buying it / redeeming it unlocks Iga in the game. So just load one of your saves, go to the guy in Arvantville that gives out the demon quests, and he'll have a new one. Accept that and then go to Gebel's boss room in Hall of Termination and fight Iga.

I'm glad I paid for it to support the game and unlock everything as SotN is my favorite game of all time... but man $10 was very steep for what you get. I can understand why some backers may be upset that this DLC became available for everyone, but hopefully it's enough solace that us non-backers massively overpaid for this. I did everything new you could do with this DLC in about 10 minutes...

I think I 'ruined' the game for me.

I got Rhava Velar and True Arrow shard very early in the game and I've been unstoppable for hours. I upgraded the shard and bosses fell like it's nothing. I don't think I've died against a single one of them. I just tank them while shooting and that's it.

Or is it that the game is really easy?

I don't mind easy games, I really like them. But I was expecting a little more of a challenge in this one. How is hard mode? Will I unlock it after finishing Normal mode?

Hard is the level you should start the game on. There's a threadmark for the file name you can use to start the game on Hard during your first playthough instead of waiting to beat it on Normal to unlock it.

I got two shard that allow me to move underwater but I still cannot 'walk' underwater or open chests. Should I keep exploring underwater or should I wait until I got the shard that allows me to move freely there. I ask because I found a seemingly 'dangerous' are with spikes and I don't know if that's the right way to continue the game (I just defeated Bloodless).

You'll have to traverse that spiky area once to get to the shard that gives you free movement underwater.

I just finished my final item list grind and really enjoyed the game. Looking forward to going through again with the other characters.
