The music for this game, it's so, not castlevania. I'm missing this to really connect me with the game 100%. I have several OST's from the same composer and they sound so good.

Also I have no clue how gambler boss made it past QA with the absolute worst slowdown.

So I'm right near the end of the game now and I've reached that cool
Gambling creature you fight in the prequel game
and I'm wondering what the best way of tackling him is? I've got 80K of money on me, and I want to get rid of that for obvious reasons, but I also want the plat if possible and there's a money related trophy there. So question - do I need to possess 200K (I think?) in one go? If so what's the best way of grinding money?
Oh, and while performance on the Pro has been almost perfect for me bar the odd room or two, I gotta say this boss is bloody awful when he does the one attack with the Casino chips, absolutely tanks the frame rate. I'm more confused as to what is causing the drop more than anything...

The best place to farm is here

A small cheat you can do to get the money trophy is to sell everything you have (Save your progress first of course). Write down the amount of money that brings and make a note of it. Reset the game and then you will only need to grind for the difference between that and 500,000. Once you grind the difference. Save your game and sell everything. You will get the trophy and you can still reset your game and keep all of your needed equipment.

Running through that area with Accelerator, high LCK, and 9/9 Augment Gold nets like 100k per minute for me. I got the trophy without even knowing it existed, so no need to worry too much. You're going to have to get way more gold anyway if you want to fill out the inventory archive.

Yeah, you're going to be doing some ridiculous gold farming runs in that area as is if you wanna get all the items. And similarly, I found I had lots of expensive materials that I didn't need at all, so I could sell those without worry.

I think in the end I maaaaay have had to sell extra stuff for the trophy, but that's just cause I got real impatient and did smaller farming+crafting runs instead of going longer to hit that.

I used this guide to farm. It's a bit grindy since you need to max Augment luck and gold but it just took maybe an hour or two to prepare. If you don't have Gebel's glasses it's better to equip Rhaval and walk instead of using Accelerator.

I didn't got rid of my money. What I did was equip the Aegis Armor (so spikes won't hurt me), invert the scenario and attack it from there. Is a lot easier, even with him using my money to heal.

Literally the first thing that came to mind the second I saw the spiked ceiling. A lot of boss fights are probably easier to play inverted, but this one just screamed the possibility.

Invert makes that fight an absolute joke.

Finished the game now. Loved it, difficulty felt about on point with what I wanted later in the game (and using low gear early on helped against it being too easy). Definitely one of my favourite Metroidvania;s, just got .6 of the map to find. Oh, and I still have one more hidden boss to fight
OD
who is supposed to be pretty darn tough.

I've not actually fought IGA, not sure if I have access to the DLC for free (I did back the game). But yeah, I beat OD already, he's not a pushover but he's not THAT hard either. A blast to fight to be honest. Loved it!
If you backed it you should have a DLC code waiting for you in your fangamer survey page. (assuming you backed at the right level)

Just finally finished the game. Loved it! Felt *exactly* like another Symphony of the Night, they really did a good job recreating that feeling. They did a great job, can't wait for the rogue-like procedural castle update, that was a crazy thing to promise in the Kickstarter.

When you're at the point that you're going through the process of trying to multiply gold + max Alchemic Bounty anyway, as soon as that starts working out in your favor I feel like maxing those augments isn't that bad at all, haha.

Beautiful Province of Quebec.
I started playing and I cant progress out of the first section lol...there is 2 rooms I cant go into, one is a rectangular room with what looks like 2 small blue bats or something and the other is a chest in a small room...I shot the cannons but didnt really look at all the moves I guess.

Well scratch that,I did find the exit but with one potion I cant even beat the first Boss, guess I will restart and save my potions for the Boss but really, the reason I hadn't bough this is because I know I cant play games like this anymore, they are just too hard for me but I tried it because of Gamepass.

Man this game is really buggy. Just started it on xbox. I got to the part where you equip your weapons. The model of Miriam was missing her head and when I tried to exit the menu the game froze. Before this when I tried to start the game it just gave me an error

Only balance patched, not "fixed patched"
But honestly i think the version is totally fine. Sure if you compare there are shortcomings, but you can play it and have fun.
Thank you! Googling it just lead to discussion of upcoming patches (that have since been released) and no discussion over after release, figured this is the best place to ask.

I wanted to play this game and thankfully it came to Game Pass and I've been playing it since.

I like the game fine but I don't love it, yet I don't know to explain why.
I'm at about 50% and
Are there new major powers I've yet to reach? I'm looking for something to grab onto so I don't drop this game soon
Also, not sure if it was ever explained but are the buffs from dishes permanent? And the talk about shards corrupting Miriam and the need to sell them was never touched upon again so I'm not sure what's the deal there

The Shards don't actually corrupt you, there's no need to sell them, that's all for the lore.

The first time you eat a dish the buffs are permanent, I highly recommend the drinks.

You're on the right track, kill bloodless to proceed.

No i wouldn't recommend it on Switch, its one of the bugiest games i played and im only on the castle entrance , either buy on another platform or wait months for the patches, maybe in a sale

I used Flying Edge for a long while.
I used it for a while too, but Rhava Bural + Welcome Company just demolishes bosses and even regular enemies + True/Chasing Arrow for annoying flying mobs... any reason to use another loadout right now? >.>

Edit: the voice-over when conjuring Welcome Company is annoying af though :P

To be fair, there are too many things in this game that are way too good. I used Welcome Company for a while, too, but by the time I was where you are, I used 8-bit Fireball for everything (the sword being just for candles, really). And prior to that, I used Flame Cannon.

Eventually I replaced Welcome Company with Throw Spear, which looks like it sucks but is actually amazing. And then Summon Hellhound, which is nuts, too.

Teps Oceus is best for flying/annoying enemies.

By the time I finally got Rhava Velar, well, I already had 8-bit Fireball.

Thanks! I powered through and I'm at about 72% now
I just got the
invert
and I'm enjoying the game more now. I actually think the power belt has a great deal to do with that because I felt like Miriam is slow at times, as weird as that sounds.

How are you still using Thava Bural? Can you upgrade it? I found mine really early and loved it but it only has 12 attack?

TLDR: Physical rewards start going out next week depending on which tier you're in. Japanese console release is October 24th. Playable Zangetsu still coming but no timeframe yet.

And the most important part for many here:
Work on the Nintendo Switch graphical and performance update continues. We apologize for the long development cycle. Most of the changes are on a room-by-room, enemy-by-enemy basis so there are a significant number of assets being reworked and it's taking more time than initially expected.

We are pleased with the progress that has been made so far and look forward to getting it into your hands. While the teams are working on an extensive list of myriad improvements, their focus is on four principal areas: Visual Fidelity, Loading Times, Particle Effects and Input Lag.

  • Visual Fidelity - The way that backgrounds and environments are rendered are being significantly updated. This will result in noticeably sharper environments in most areas throughout the game.
  • Loading Times - Load times between scenes are being greatly improved, but are still not where we would like them to be, so work remains.
  • Particle Effects - We have already replaced hundreds of particle effects with new assets and more yet remain. The new ones look the same to the user, but are much less impactful on the performance of the game. This has been one of the main culprits for framerate drops during fights.
  • Input Lag - Input lag times have been significantly reduced, once work on this is completed the game should feel much more reactive when playing.

The improvements are expected to be released in two separate updates. The first update will contain the vast majority of the improvements. The second update will improve performance with a couple of especially troublesome areas and enemies.

We expect these updates to be launched by the end of November. We will give more specific timeframes when we are closer to release.

After the Switch upgrade is live, there will be a handful of assets/enemies that we want to improve like the Doppleganger enemy for example. These improvements will be part of our regular development cycle and updated when ready.

Xbox 1.006 Update

This update is still planned to go live by the end of September. It will contain:

  • IGA's Backpack DLC
  • Balance Update #1: Details Here
  • Overlord achievement fix
  • HDR Fix
  • Localization improvements
  • XB1-specific bug fixed

PS4 1.04 Update

We do not have a live date for the PS4 1.04 update. We will provide more info when we are closer to a release date. This update will contain any other bug fixes, improvements we've been working on since the last update.

Localization Improvements

We have taken another pass at improving localization. These updated loc files will be included in the next update for each platform.

How do techniques work? I've found a few more on bookshelves, but only the first two I got appear in the menu.
The content of books you read are kept elsewhere. For it to appear in your techniques list, you have to actually perform the technique at least once. The book will also say which particular weapons you can perform the technique on; with a couple exceptions, you gain the ability to use the technique on every weapon of its type once it is mastered.

For efficiency reasons I suggest not worrying too much about mastering techniques until endgame. Just work on the ones you really, really like and see yourself using a lot.

Best way to get the techs is to equip every weapon and then wiggle the left stick while mashing attack. Once you see a technique happen, you can go to the list and see how it's supposed to be done.

I now have an upgraded Rheval sword.... I think I broke the game

...Or not, Iga still mopped the floor with me O_O

Also, what's the deal with the Carpenter boss? I killed him and he dropped literally nothing...
