[Bloomberg] Nintendo to Use New Nvidia Graphics Chip in 2021 Switch Upgrade (DLSS) [Analysts saying $350-399 MSRP]

Signs points to a resounding yes for games supporting DLSS and around that level natively (weaker GPU but better CPU).
My heart can't take Xenoblade 3 this year, full expecting it to be mid 2022
If a more powerful Switch and a new Xeno rpg release I'm eating some ass and ferociously tossing money Nintendo's way.
It's not easy to answer that because it uses drastically different architecture and has certain strengths (CPU) and certain weaknesses (GPU).
But effectively it should be able to run games smoother and with better IQ than the PS4, assuming devs actually take full advantage of the hardware.
Probably not if we're talking GPU, but I believe it's been speculated that the Switch Pro will be around XB1 levels docked before DLSS. The CPU will likely be better, though.
I can't see XC3 + BOTW2 + Pokemon Legends all releasing within like ~6 months of each other. Seems like a no brainer to spread those out a bit more.
It's a PS4 with significantly faster CPU performance along with the ability to use DLSS to play games in 4K.
Well, Monolith Software has to have been working on something since Xenoblade 2 release and it seems unlikely it has only been Xenoblade DE.
if this new game (XB 3 or a new IP) releases in December, it will have been 4 years.

idk about xcb3 specifically but I'd be willing to bet we at least see something monolith soft related this year

this might be ~crazy talk~ but i'm expecting a new Fire Emblem sooner rather than later, too.
- series has been on a two-year release cadence for a while now
- Three Houses was 2019
- it was also largely developed by Koei Tecmo
- most of the developers behind the 3ds FEs, aside from like literal top-level (director, producers) staff, haven't been credited on a game since Echoes/Heroes
- if they were able to develop Echoes/Heroes concurrently, i have no reason to assume that upkeep on Heroes' live content has meaningfully impacted their ability to also produce a game in-house
Yeah, a new Echoes game (FE Remake) is a likely candidate for this year.

It'll be be 4 years since Mario Odyssey..and there's been no proper 2D adventure on Switch yet (just Mario Maker 2 & New Super Mario Bros.U Deluxe port).
We've had plenty of ports/slight upgrades, but nothing truly new for a long time.

This is definitely Switch 2 sorta upgrade, while Switch 1 will probably run games at a lower performance and miss out on a few exclusive, then a year or 2 on I can see this replacing the Switch 1 entirely.
I would have bought it but we bought a 2nd Switch last year at the start of the pandemic.
Of course I am very weak when it comes to buying new hardware...

Because Aula using Mariko doesn't fit in the equation, why would Nintendo release a new revision when the rumored more powerful Switch is gonna release in 2021? Also there's no indication in recent firmware about a system using other clocks than the standart Switch.
I guess this will be 500 here in Canada....

If you have a moddable Switch, you might have a reason to keep the OG. My plan is modding my original Switch once I get the new one.
