Drug Tester: Sir, we found steroids in your horse's system.

Baffert: Fuck the left.

Is there not some body that will issue lifetime bans after so many violations? 5 violations in 6 months for your crew is bad but near 30 in your career says it's clearly not an accident and you shouldn't be trusted in the sport.

I'd guess most of the folks commonly labeled "cancel culture" don't even engage with horse racing on any level.

He dopes his animals. Now this jackass is trying to deflect.

This is really a mess for horse racing. Getting disqualified after all the bets have been settled is a real mess. There will be lawsuits. Having all this happen during the premier event Kentucky Derby just adds focus to an industry that is already criticized for animal abuse and fixed gambling accusations.

Yeah they might make dude an example, drop the hammer on him and pretend the evil is defeated. Seems like dude isn't well regarded anyway

He is THE horse trainer. His long time clout, money and connections let him get away with it.

The funny/sad thing is those two words have automatically granted him ironclad support from conservative America. Medina Spirit will be renamed MAGA Spirit within the month.

The answer as to why Baffert would do this, if he actually is doping his horses, would be very simple: Triple Crown. It's the only thing left he hasn't won and he wants it.

Yes but lance Armstrong as an example of someone who was considered "the sport" eventually had it come crumbling down when it all came out. I just don't get why these sports allow cheaters so openly and expect it not to be damaging to the sports brand. I'm just confused as my brother rode horses for the UK in competitions and they would have no issues banning riders who cheated, that wasn't racing but other competitions to be fair, but it's still weird.

Because horse racing is a very different world than biking.

It keeps being a relief to know Trump has been so thoroughly demoted to being only a ranting blogger hermit uncle.
