Do we know if there is an offline LAN mode? I was out of gaming on PC for some years but recently bought a new gaming laptop. Do they still do LAN mode in new games?

There's a LAN option yeah, just like BL2 and TPS. Take a look at the top-right in this image, the icon is there.

Trailer ended with one of the bad guys dabbing, leaving me no choice but to cancel my pre-order in protest .

Also you can prepurchase in select stores Wednesday then pick it up at 9pm on Thursday
Yeah, I mentioned that. It's actually the only reason I preordered, I'll do some shopping nearby and swing by after, saves me making a trip on Friday morning.

There's no reason to expect anything under an 88 tbh. Those saying so either haven't been keeping up with the game or have an agenda against it because of Randy/2K despite the insane amount of effort put in by the cool folks from Gearbox Texas and Quebec who have no say in these matters.

7 AM Pacific. I'll get the review thread up at some point.

I mean I don't need convinced, everything I've seen indicates they've ticked all the right boxes for an excellent sequel, but I'm expecting a couple of things to go against it in some people's eyes.
1. Reviewers seem down on loot shooters in general at the moment. The Division 2 was objectively superior to the previous game in every way, but it wasn't reflected in reviews.
2. Some people just really don't like Borderlands and will have made their minds up already.

So I have a question. My preferred character in Borderlands 2 was Axton as I'm all about assault rifles, explosives, etc and enjoyed having a turret. My least favourite weapons to use were easily Sniper Rifles and not big on pistols or SMG's and would prefer to play B3 with a character that's focussed on fast paced mid-range combat. So is FL4K mostly focussed on long-range combat and specialises in Sniper Rifles, or can his skills be focussed on fast paced combat? I'm thinking Moze is more suited to my playstyle but just wondering if FL4K's skillset would work with assault rifles, rocket launchers, etc. Also can Iron Bear be spawned without having to control it ala Axton's Turrets? Thanks in advance!

This time around they got rid of skills that force you to use specific weapon types, so you don't have to feel like you have to use snipers / smgs / etc. with certain characters anymore. The skills in BL3 are more so just flat damage / crits / fire rate / etc. buffs.

Moze has a skill tree dedicated to firing as much as possible with no downtime, a tree dedicated to explosives and a tree dedicated to making your shield as tanky as possible with high damage as a result. Her first tree sounds more up your alley if you like ARs or whatever other automatic weapon you like spraying with.

She has a skill that allows Iron Bear to remain for a short while to help you upon exiting it. It synergies well with another skill that gives you infinite ammo for a few seconds upon exiting IB.

FL4K has a skill tree dedicated to critical hit damage, a tree dedicated to high damage and other bonuses against specific enemies and a tree dedicated to their pet.

Thanks very much for the info! Interesting, so could potentially do either even with playing mostly assault.

Did they fix their weird online where the game just has you listed on the final mission, when in reality you're doing the DLC, or doing a raid boss(as a mission)?

Right now there's 3 game modes IIRC. Campaign, circle of slaughter, or proving grounds. This way you can find like-minded games or set your game that way for others.

I suspect that they might end up adding more categories, such as maybe one for each major DLC, one for each monthly event, etc.

Nice smart idea! I will probably pop into kfc then go pick up my game

One of the trees for Moze has a 1 point skill that can make Ironbear function on its own for 15 seconds after you get out of it. You automatically get into IB every time but you can immediately get out and it refunds most of the cooldown. So you can get 15 second "turrets" that way. Supposedly you can still climb into his turret for the second player while he's in that mode.

Is it even possible to get the Maliwan now if it is season 3 and I just started ?
Not before launch unless they give out HUGE boost code.
Unless I'm misunderstanding how to get it, it's more than possible. I've got 3 guns already from the weaponiser so I'd just need to but 5 from the available selection for BL2, PS and BL3. I have over 38k points and I haven't been super diligent in collecting them.

(edit) try the twitter accounts that have lists of all the codes given out so far, I misread the initial question.

It may be a bit tedious, but I believe it could still be possible if you're willing to take the time.

You get 3 free weapons from running the Wheel each season, so you only need to get 5. The 5 for Borderlands 3 are 4k a piece, so that's 20000. I believe you also get a free one for being an Early Adopter, which you input yourself, so you actually should only need 16000.

I used this to run through and rack up a lot of points, as well as doing the activities on the site. Even after buying a skin or 2, I still have well over 8k points just laying around.

Yeah, I started late on the whole VIP thing(like 2 weeks ago) and grabbed enough codes from websites gathering them, as well as clicking everything on https://borderlands.com/en-US/vip-activities/, to have enough to buy 5 guns + get the 3 free ones from the Weaponizer AND still have enough points to buy 2 heads.
Isn't that legendary weapon you unlock just a fixed lvl15 one? I think I read that somewhere. If true, it's kinda useless.

I'm not sure, but considering the BL3 weapons you can purchase are only lvl 10, I wouldn't be surprised.
But then again, if you can transfer weapons from one character to another like before, it could be useful for early lvling, instead of being stuck with mostly green weapons.

So I just preordered from Game Billet. Never used them before. It says my code is coming soon even though preloading is up. Anyone know when the keys will be sent out?

It's been real fun following this thread over the past few months folks. Posting news, VIP codes, speculating about stuff. 58 whole pages! From the announcement way back in late March at Gearbox's PAX East event to the showings at E3 and gamescom, the hype has been steadily building and now the game is only a few days out. Come September 13, we'll all get to experience five years of hard work split between two development studios for ourselves. Let's keep the good vibes this thread has been cultivating over at the OT. I hope to see your familiar faces around =)
