It does. I just had worries about the characters and the review confirmed them. A little too generic for me.
I swear, if Skullgirls had been a platform fighter instead of a MvC2 clone, half this forum would call its characters "generic".

Nah. Skullgirls had a bunch of sexualised female characters and an interesting artstyle, would have been better received than this even if it were a Smash clone instead of a MvC2 clone. This just screams "generic".I swear, if Skullgirls had been a platform fighter instead of a MvC2 clone, half this forum would call its characters "generic".
Not when most of the scene is composed of arrogant assholes like your post clearly indicates.
How come disfiguring and perverting the game's original design suddenly something completely acceptable that even "appeals" to casuals? No matter how much new gimmicks it has, it still represents less than half of what the Smash fanbase truly wants, and it's pretty clear from the very start that PM was born from the desires of a very niche, nitpicky group of those fans. Treating them all the same and assuming PM can be "universally enjoyed" just because of minor details like these is definitely something that doesn't work, and something I learned far back in the Smash Bros subreddit.
Maybe, but not me. That game had some cool designs, they didn't just look like random Bratz dolls.I swear, if Skullgirls had been a platform fighter instead of a MvC2 clone, half this forum would call its characters "generic".
It is closer to PlayStation Battle All-Stars than it is to Melee, imo.

Uhhh, well that makes me way less interested. Hype deflated lol

I haven't played Melee (been out of the Nintendo game for a long time prior to Switch), but it doesn't really feel like PSAS to me - and I've played quite a bit of that. This seems slower and more precision than that.It is closer to PlayStation Battle All-Stars than it is to Melee, imo.

There is no block or grab. You can dodge. The only thing even resembling a block is when you use the Rage mechanic to disrupt a combo. So you can't block in this game? No grab as odd but no blocking is a no buy. Or am I confusing block with bubble style shield?
Some characters have stuff that's like a block or grab though. Juan can suplex his enemies, and Hyper Light Drifter can drive his sword into the ground to interrupt enemies - for example. There is no block or grab. You can dodge. But Playtation All-Stars Battle Royale is a Smash clone, so that would be cloning a clone and does that mean that both are pieces of shit? :P
Were you the one that asked which is better?Saw Nate's stream, like he said in the chat it looks at least better than the sony smash bros.
So Melee wasn't successful with casual players? Smash wasn't a beloved game until Brawl then? And Melee wasn't silly with Pichu vs Ganondorf using silly items?True. Forgot about that. Then maybe this game allows itself to be a little more silly and casual than a regular Melee clone wouldn't dare to.
You're the one who started with the poor attitude..Not when most of the scene is composed of arrogant assholes like your post clearly indicates.
Jesus.. The entitlement and hypocrisy of this post is astounding. How come disfiguring and perverting the game's original design suddenly something completely acceptable that even "appeals" to casuals? It's like 7:40am on the 19th for them, so that makes sense. So I was on the JPN eShop and uhh... Apparently Brawlout is, well, out? Lol
It's not out on the US eShop, though.
Basically why they weren't worth responding to, lol.Jesus.. The entitlement and hypocrisy of this post is astounding.
The menu look like PS All stars lolWow. It actually looks better than PS All Stars if the menu is anything to go by
That'd be Icons. Is this the one made by the Project M people? they so many smash clones coming out soon hard to keep track of them
